@@BigMikeReactions Well, I've heard that K-Pop is a huge thing. I personally never been into them, but you know, K-Pop is a phenomenon of mind-blowing proportions. I've heard that BTS alone provides 12% of South Korean GDP. I can't believe it, I think it must be impossible. So, if you say something is "probably a K-Pop," to me it always bears that bitter-sweet taste. On one hand, of course, BAND-MAID is not from Korea. On the other hand, every band wants to have a tiny fraction of popularity which a K-Pop band like BTS has. It's like the highest praise, and at the same time a reminder of how strange is the modern world. The singers like Tailor Swift are in the same category, of course. If BAND-MAID would be half as popular as Tailor Swift, that would truly mean WORLD DOMINATION for them. But the world wants different stuff, which has little to do with true music.

Band Maid is J-Rock not K-pop. I personally think the whole maid costume thing is a bit gimmicky, but Japanese bands and fans often seem to like that kind of thing, and it has become an integral part of their image. The 2 bands were admirers of each other and met at the Aftershock festival a couple of years ago where they suggested collaborating on a project in the future. The song was initially written by Band Maid (it’s on their latest album) with modifications suggested by The Warning. They recorded the song, this video, and performed it together live in a show when The Warning visited Japan. 😎👍

Band-Maid is awesome and they kind of got me started on Asian music. The Warning got me to start looking at countries besides the USA. "From Now On" is one of my personal favorites. But pretty much any of their MV are outstanding especially their lives.

Band-maids outfits are maid inspired. They are a band of maids. Their early career they all wore what you'd think of as more traditional maid outfits, but over the years each put their own changes into them to more suit the different personalities. I think this is thier 4th song completely in English. A few suggestions Hate (live) or Freedom(live) Dice (MV) or Real Existence (MV) Before Yesterday (MV), my personal favorite MV
BAND-MAID are definitely not K-Pop. They are pure Japanese rock. They have much more technical complexity and shifting structures in their songs compared to The Warning. Personally I can't get into them but I know many in TWA are fans of them.
@@chrisegbertky Well, ASTERISM is also very emotional. I can't get into Lovebites still, they seem to me like aliens who wear human skins. I agree they are highly technical, but so... mmm... cold? And when they try to smile, it makes it even worse. Looks even weirder to me. But many people love them, nevertheless. But ASTERISM... The only two bands which keep staying in my playlist for the last six years. HAL-CA, in my opinion, is the best guitarist currently alive on planet Earth. And MIYU is probably the best bassist... But BAND-MAID is the best band in the world, hands down! It sounds paradoxical, I agree, but that's how I perceive it.
Band Maid are from Japan. Start diwn theircrabbit hole with their breakout hit, Thrill from 2013. These two bands have a mutual admoration fur each other. They met at a rock festuval here in the USA and discussed a collaboration. I fjew to Jaoan to see tgeir joint concert. While the Warning was there, they made this video with the Maids. What an incredible shiwvtgey out on. The shiw cliser was this song, and it was even better live. There was no competition between them, just admoration for each other's skills. By the end, the affection and admoration they have fur one another had me in tears. I'm so gkad I got to see that show live.
Congratulations, you have found the best hard rock, metal, prog band in the world today, and this is just the beginning of your Band Maid journey! Bassist Misa (aka The Barefoot Assassin) is the funkiest, grooviest and heaviest badass genius/elite musician from Japan.
I really hope so. Not a fan at all of “speed metal” as I’ve called it but there IT FACTOR they have came through & has got me excited for more. Seeing comments like this helps me see this journey is gonna be fun AF!!! Thank you 🙏
This is what's called a "first-time reaction". Great reaction. Show Them isn't my favourite Band-Maid song, but has grown on me fair bit since the album release. Band-Maid is hard to describe, but they are one of those bands with unmistakable sound even when they are playing completely different style of music. Band-Maid never does anything straight, and it's perfect for an easily bored person like me. Band-Maid songs are like stories, meaningful and deep, philosophical, emotional, motivational and sometimes playful. As a Japanese grew up listening to all types of Japanese music, and all types of music in general, I can confidently say Band-Maid is one of the special bands that I hardly come across these days.
Welcome to BAND-MAID!!! Play (Live), Real Existence (Live), HATE? (Live), Onset (Live), Puzzle (Live) Dice (MV), Blooming (MV), From Now On (MV), Manners (MV), Rinne (MV) or pick any video from them. Thanks and have a good day!!!
Welcome to the fandom! Both bands are big fans of each other! There's a behind the scenes video of this collab on The Warning's channel Band Maid is *𝐍𝐎𝐓* Kpop nor Jpop! "Band Maid is holding their own" - giggles 😃 Band Maid are extremely technically proficient musicians! Was lucky enough to be at their joint concert in Tokyo where they live debuted this song. Me & GF flew 6,000 miles from oHio to Japan! We spent 10 days in Japan. We stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each with day trips to Osaka & Himeji. Was an amazing concert & trip! Was an experience we both will cherish forever! Really hoping that they release an official live video of this from that concert too! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
Thank you & yes I’m getting killed in the comments! No worries I’m learning. Appreciate the list. Never know where to start with new bands, this will be a big help !
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. Though a hard rock band, they don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
I’ve been hearing about the maids cafe. Was very curious so I looked it up. Very….Uh different from what I read but I know how big cosplay is everywhere. Used to work at a hotel that had an annual Mn Anime Convention & it was so amazing!! Talk about passion! Thank you for the comment & excited to hear more. Very intrigued
This is not a battle or competition. And K-pop? Band-Maid? Wow 🙈😂 Maybe musically most skillest band in whole planet. Virtuoso musicians, Magical band. Also The Warning is one of the promising newer bands out there. Two great bands collab together.
I watched it again (and again) and I want to see more guitar from BAND-MAID! That lady shreds & it looks like I have to learn their names now. Same thing happened with discovering The Warning & happy to do so. Music that makes you “feel” is why I started this channel but I never thought it was the ROCK not RAP music I find myself resonating with though that changes based on my mental health🤣😃 Never thought a month ago my channel would of pivoted this way! So happy it is! Thank you & to everyone watching my journey.
@@BigMikeReactionsThis is maybe ”simpliest and easiest” song Band-Maid ever written. Check out ” Hate?(Official Live Video)” or ” From Now On( Official Music Video)” 👍
Have nothing against The Warning as they are great, but Band-Maid is my jam. J-Rock by the way. Glad you like them. You won't be disappointed. My favorite song of theirs will always be Puzzle. You will love either their live version or acoustic one, also live. Other great videos you could check out are Play (Live), Domination (Live), Freedome (Live), Mannars/Blackhole (Live Streamed), and of course Sayonakadori live version or acoustic, because Miku (rhythm guitarist/vocalist) also deserves some love. For a change, you'll love Onset, From Now On, or Without Holding Back.
Thank you the comment & suggestions. I get it. Finding out BAND-MAID is a lot harder! Just reacted to one after this one & caught me way off guard!! I like it ALOT but The Warning was my type of music I really got into, BAND-AID was the type of music I was not a big fan of then BUT these ladies might of made me a fan of the heavier genre which is so mind blowing if you know me! So excited for more
@@BigMikeReactions I get what you're saying. I liked some Japanese hard rock, but when I learned about Band-Maid about 7-8 years ago...Wow! J-Rock is becoming the center of rock music these days. With so many all female bands.
0:58 👀🥂🥂🥂🥂 2:33 OK, probably the funniest reaction I've seen since GiddyKitty did Deutschland 😄👏🏻 4:34 🤣🤣🤣 I usually watch the bands when people do reactions but hey, this time... well done 👏🏻
Band-Maid is a hard rocking all female Japanese rock band. The group has been together intact for over a dozen years with over 140 songs in their catalog. In my opinion, (I'm 75 and have heard A LOT of rock music in my life) Band-Maid is one of the best rock bands performing right now. I have been to two of their live concerts and they were among the best shows I have ever seen. These five young Japanese females are the most talented, cohesive, and professional acts out there. One of their live concerts is well worth attending. Kanami, Band-Maid's lead guitarist and composer, wrote the song with the collaborative effort in mind by the two groups. Each has their own style, so to write and produce a song that incorporated both band's style of music was a feat. Now it's time for you to react to Band-Maid alone. The band's first video that garnered them a lot of exposure to a Western audience was "Thrill". One of their most current songs that really show how far the band has come and what they can really do before and audience is "Hate?, the official live video from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale in November 2023. Welcome to the wonderful world of discovering Band-Maid.
BigMike... Welcome to the pigeon hole that is Band-Maid. I am late to the party judging by how many Maidiacs have already commented. Band-Maid can do more than "hold their own". Band-Maid is currently one of the best hard rock bands on the planet. Their live shows which they call Okyuji (servings) to keep with their maid cafe theme, are simply incredible. They routinely play for 2 hours or more. Their 10th year anniversary tour finale okyuji at Yokohama Arena was around three and a half hours long. They released a few official live videos from that concert that you may want to check out. Don't You Tell Me and Hate are straight up bangers with guitar vs bass duels, and Endless Story is a tear jerker ballad that even choked up the lead singer, Saiki, and the drummer, Akane, since it was the last song of their 10th year anniversary tour. Some other song suggestions are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum. They do have three or four songs in all English but be prepared to hear mainly Japanese lyrics with some English thrown in. You will get used to it. Have fun with it!
Yeah!!! Got torched in the comments!! I love the comments & the community and yeah I was WAY OFF!! Was able to react to Protect You. Wasn’t my genre but BAND-MAID made it work. I’m very excited to react to the more Classic Rock type of sound everyone has been recommending. Good is Good & these “maids” are f@#king GREAT!! Love their sound & the guitar & bass are next level sick AF!! Thank you for the thoughtful comments
@@BigMikeReactions 😂 Us fans can be so touchy and obnoxious hey? 😅 I'm not sure if you noticed it or not, but they used sneaky traditional instrument riff in the backing track of Protect You. You may hear piano, synth, trombone or xylophone or whatever in some other Band-Maid songs. They have the rare creative freedom not many bands have. Band-Maid intentionally push their famous rhythm section forefront. BUT it doesn't overshadow Kanami's excellence. EVERYONE has distinctive style. You'll soon find out. Have fun!
As has already been said Band-Maid are a Japanese band and this is not a battle. The two band's met at a festival in the US in 2022 and became friends. They decided that they wanted to produce a collaboration and this is the result. The music was composed by Kanami of Band-Maid to accommodate The Warning's style, as this is not particularly a Band-made style song. As usual with collabs they often don't show either band at their best. I'm a fan of both bands but don't particularly like this song, but they wanted to do it, so I'm happy for them. Solo's are a signature part of most Band-Maid songs. Try Band-Maid- Domination Official Live Video- Band-Maid don't block official videos.
Funny how one sees things. I love to hear the backstory afterwards. So fascinating to learn. Thank you for sharing this & excited for more. Way off on BAND-MAID & so happy to be wrong!!! Thank you 🙏
Oh wait?? I thought they were! I’m such a dumbass!! Figure if the comments still give me crap, I can too. Thank you for the comment, hope you stick around for more
Thank you I will!!! Just did one right now & I’m very very impressed!! Speed metal (what my gen called it) wasn’t a fave of mine but these ladies thrash!!!! 🤘👊🙌 The guitar & bass are tough!! The drums are insane & the lead singer has range I bet!!! Definitely doing more & excited for this rabbit hole!!
BAND-MAID are not K-Pop, or even J-Pop for that matter, notr even J-Rock, though they are Japanese and play Hard Rock, and the have songs that could be considered Pop. They do it all. So they don't really stick to any genre in particular. They even do soft acoustic ballads, as well as heavy stuff that even borders on Metal. But if you had to "Pigeon Hole" them Hard Rock is what they consider themselves to be, so it's as good a classification as any. But BAND-MAID are, no hype, The Best Band In The World! And with very few exceptions, their Official LIVE Video are the way to go. They have great Call & Response Bass and Guitar 'Battles", which is probably why this song was set up as a Battle Of The Bands. You should go and do a reaction to 'Hate?' from their 10th Year Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena.

They are currently my favorite 2 bands. The maids are just technically better musicians but then, the power trio of the maids have had professional training and are on average 10 yrs older than the sisters. Doesnt mean they make better music, they both excel within the style they play. Complexity and simplicity, best of both worlds. I like them equally because of the similarities, sound, songwriting, playing, personas, these 8 women have it all. Oh, and they are best live and a joy to behold. I think this is thier 4th song completely in English.
A few suggestions
Hate (live) or Freedom(live)
Dice (MV) or Real Existence (MV)
Before Yesterday (MV), my personal favorite MV
I yhjnkbhe should srart at the beginning I ng with their original hut, Thrill, the official music video.
BAND-MAID are definitely not K-Pop. They are pure Japanese rock. They have much more technical complexity and shifting structures in their songs compared to The Warning. Personally I can't get into them but I know many in TWA are fans of them.
They´re not even from Korea to begin with 😏
And with so much emotions too. Band-Maid isn't even considered that technical compared to some other Japanese bands, believe it or not.
@@lurkmerchantlike Asterism or Lovebites
@@chrisegbertky yep.
As long as it’s LIVE!! Thank you for this and the comment
Welcome to the fandom! Both bands are big fans of each other! There's a behind the scenes video of this collab on The Warning's channel
Band Maid is *𝐍𝐎𝐓* Kpop nor Jpop!
@@BigMikeReactions yeah us Band Maid & The Warning fans can be a little overly protective 😊
Amazing, 2 bands that are not singing in their native languages, Collab and make a rockin song, duels, flavors, wow.
And ones not K Pop! That is a cool observation though & makes it better. Thank you
@BigMikeReactions exactly 💯
0:58 👀🥂🥂🥂🥂
2:33 OK, probably the funniest reaction I've seen since GiddyKitty did Deutschland 😄👏🏻
4:34 🤣🤣🤣
I usually watch the bands when people do reactions but hey, this time... well done 👏🏻
Thank you!! So excited to hear more! Appreciate the comment
@@BigMikeReactions For the full Band Maid effect watch their official HATE? live next 🌀
Band-maid isn't Korean OR pop.
And they are the most talented rock band in the world today.
I'm not sure if you noticed it or not, but they used sneaky traditional instrument riff in the backing track of Protect You.
Have fun!
“It’s good, it’s really good! Band-Maid’s holding their own too.” Funniest comment in this reaction!
Bandmaid- you may outplay them and you might outsing them but by God you'll never outwork them!
Yeah… not if I’m involved!😆 They are so gifted & need to be seen more over here! I ❤️ how music is an international language everyone can understand!
Thank you 🙏
The birth of a new maidiac. How sweet.
I like The Warning too, of course.
Yeah!! And guess what? They aren’t K Pop! Only dumbasses think that!! 🙏🤘😂🤣
Oh wait?? I thought they were! I’m such a dumbass!! Figure if the comments still give me crap, I can too. Thank you for the comment, hope you stick around for more
Band-maid is a top live Band check out the song HATE with Bass and Guitar solo greeting from germany
Everybody reactor misses theres 7 solos here , after pau , Everybody drops out but saiki , dani vocals n mikus rhythm guitar for like 4 bars , the pigeon has the longest solo in the whole song po!
Yup would have never got that! So much on that stage that drops charisma. Just a great collab! Thank you for that
the outfits are brought by Miku from aka "Maid Cafe" in Japan, because she warked, maybe I don't think anyone told about it so I'll put it on here so please try referencing it. hope it will be a good reference thing! ☕💕 ruclips.net/video/rVrk2o_B8Z4/видео.htmlsi=cImTZUcWteYu23RU
The Warning girls are too young.
Misa is 31 and Ale 19...
But they fit perfectly. Amazing talents.
Not Kpop at all. I think you may like Band Maid Live at The Yolohama Arena Live plying their song "HATE"
Kpop… 😂. Well you found out how wrong you were!
And got torched in the comments!!😂🤣 Thank you & so excited for more
Band-Maid is not K-pop. Are you uploading videos without doing basic research on the artists you introduce on your channel?
Yes I am. Called a first time reaction. Don’t do too much on the backstory until I listen & actually want to hear more. I might get torched for it but kinda the way I like it, gives you guys a way to beat on me in the comments & believe me I know a lot more now. Thanks for the interaction though!
@@BigMikeReactionsFans do get knee-jerk reaction when reactors says things like:

- are they like Babymetal?
- they are a j-metal band

It's inevitable. Don't get the comments get to you. You know what fans are like? 😅
I have a hang up about asian bands. Band Maid, Baby Metal and the others, fantastic musicians. Technically better than The Warning, but I cant get passed the vocals. Just cant do it.
Just curious... Why do you think that those bands/groups are technically better than The Warning?
Understood, and I'll leave it at that, me too. But a few of Band -Maid songs are on my playlist because of the musical vibes I liked.
@@johnnymiller3684 Because they are. Dany can't solo like that and I'm not saying she needs to. We love her for what she does.
Ale is a very good bass player but the band maid girl has better technical skills.
Paulina can hold her own.
Brains, beauty and badassery.
@@johnnymiller3684
@@alvasquez2931 I get it. Musically they are fantastic. Baby Metal is like having two Nita Straus in your band.
