    I love the album but I definitely have to delisagree with the statement of this being their heaviest album. The process of human extermination is by far their heaviest album, but it can be argued that they were a completely different band back then. Hellbound I still think has the most heavy hitting lyrics. This is not me saying this album is bad it just feels like they're growing into a different band. And I mean that in a good way! Idk, I just wanted to jump up on my internet soap box and act like my opinion matters lol or that I have some deeper insight. It's a fantastic album

    • @TheMetalTris
      @TheMetalTris  2 месяца назад

      Hahaha, no, no your opinion does matter! I guess heavy is kind of a state of mind and that's what I was going for with this one. I think that there's definitely more of a full on feel but coupled with the sense of hopelessness and nihilism it's just something else entirely haha
      Thanks for checking the video out though and for commenting too! I always read every comment and try to get back to as many as I can

    Deathcore, like metalcore is a hit or miss genre for me. A lot of it sounds like being heavy for heavy's sake, but I will say FFAO did have a song I thought was amazing in Two Towers, so when you say the album is building on the foundation of Oh What the Future Holds, I am curious to give the Nothing That is a fair chance.

      I think that as far as Deathcore bands go, FFAA are a little more than that. I agree that I can be a little picky when it comes to that kind of genre but their sound is really cool. Let me know what you think of it now that it's out there!

    Very much looking forward to hearing this one. Interesting review indeed. Loved the last album so this one is going to be great to dive into. Enjoyed the aspects about atmosphere and the variation. 👍

    Really good album, the atmosphere of the cover is perfectly depicted in the music. Red horizon is one of my favorite songs of the year. That pre-breakdown lyric and the whole „the bodies burned so bright“-part always gets me.
    I discovered them, when The Great Collapse dropped and I still believe it to be their best and most cohesive album. Liked the incorporation of more and more clean-singing since then, though the albums felt not as consistant anymore. The new one has potential to claim no.2 spot in my completely unimportant personal rating.

    • @TheMetalTris

      I couldn't agree more. The cover really encapsulates that hopelessness of the album. I first properly discovered them on The Sea of Tragic Beasts and then went back to get into The great Collapse - that record was really great.
      I disagree! Your rating is just as important as mine and I would love to see it!

      @@TheMetalTris You wanted it, here we go:
      The Great Collapse
      Oh What the Future Holds
      The Nothing that Is
      Sea of Tragic Beasts
      Absolute Hope, Absolute Hell
      Haven't checked out the older ones yet.
      I feel like they got ever more hopeless with their titles, too. Wondering how frustrating it must be to write songs about the world turning to shit for about 15 years only for the whole process to accelerate :D

    I love the Radical album in the background. One of ETID's best albums and so sad they broke up after. Good for us though as Better Lovers album came out today with most of ETID as the core group with WIll Putney and Greg P from ex Dillinger. Will putting out two amazing albums on the same day? Crazy talented man.

      @TheMetalTris I love both albums, but I think I prefer Better Lovers. Though I will always love Keith's vocals so much. I just think overall, Highly Irresponsible is a better record.

      @TheMetalTris Personally this record does not make me feel anything. The album is lacking that extra omph and it loses me after weaker wolves. I like what they are doing instrumentally but the vocals on this dont grab me at all.
      Maybe im just allergic to Putneys mixing in general since ive never loved the productions as much as their music. 🤔.
      I dont know but this was a let down and i'd give it a 7 perhaps 😔.
      Glad you like it more than i do 🤗

      I’m a new FFAA fan so I won’t say if The Nothing That Is their heaviest work ever, but on its own I can say it is definitely a heavy album, but one that does not shy away from sprinkling in some progressive(-ish) elements every once in a while

    • @TheMetalTris
      @TheMetalTris  2 месяца назад +1

      I honestly think that some of the singles, although well written and well chosen because they have huge hooks in them, were definitely not the heaviest that we could hear. Lust For The Severed Head I think is my favourite though, thanks for checking the video out and for all of the support throughout the years :)

    Underwhelming album to say the least. The album titled “The Nothing That Is” seems to epitomize the record that it is. Savior of None was the best song and it was released first, and that usually indicates to me that the band knows it’s the best song. Couldn’t get into any of the rest of the album. No variation (Mourn, Two Towers, No Man W/out Fear). Some great instrumentation as always but… you just start to notice things after a while. There’s just nothing captivating about any of these tracks. A lot of similarities in certain parts of songs to past released songs. Mirroring templates in song structure and vocal execution. A little bit more range in vocals on this album but to no avail as they aren’t pulling you into the song more (aside from Lust for the Severed Head). Overall I give this album a C-. Only reason it’s not a D is because SON/AOA is actually a banger.

      That's fair enough! You make some valid points for sure but for me personally I just thought that this one hit me a lot harder than Future - though I think that Tragic Beasts is still my favourite at this point in time!
