I walked a guy through Dual Destiny for his first time, and he got the HOIL + Synthoceps roll on his first drop. I only play Titan and have been farming class items for months and also still don't have this roll 🙄

Why? That could be 64 weeks until you get the roll you want and thats even if it was dupe protected which it isnt. Infinite farmable over a 4 day time period is a far better option.
Slight problem with this system. 41 coins for a single one is far too expensive when there is a cap of 99 strange coins. Also, if you were somehow lucking in getting all 64 with no duplicates, that would equate to 2,624 coins. On top of that if you want all 64 for EACH class, that would equal to 7,872. Reminder that you barely get any strange coins from strikes and such along with said cap again and not including duplicates. Terrible system without duplicate protection.
I'm curious, did you already have those rolls? I'm curious if the drop from XUR could include ones you already had. If so, I'll probably pass. I have around 10 exotic class items now and somehow I've managed to get a dup drop on them so I gave up on it. I don't care enough about them but it would be nice to know that you would always get a roll for one you've never gotten before from Xur.
Its bullsh** you can't even pick it up at xur unless you unlock it from the mission. It's really not solo friendly. That's another slap to the face having it there. You can't pick up the class item at xur unless you do the exotic mission to unlock it, and probably I not coming back to Destiny 2 if bungie doesn't fix it..
Yes but the exotic mission is trash by Forcing players to play with someone is not really needed it's one of many reasons destiny2 is losing player base bad enough trials is dying anyways, Because of bungie giving us something Opposite we wanted

Bungie needs to re-evaluate its view on the ingame economy. I legit cannot stand the cap on resources. I've had maxed strange coin for weeks because there was nothing worth buying but couldn't earn more even though I was playing the game. I buy two class items and I'm out. It's like working for free. Get rid of the caps and let me keep what I earn bungie
If you don't have any class items or very few, this may be a small "w", but strange coins are shared across all characters so you only 2 chances for all 3 characters and if you are like Luckyy, it is a near imposibility you get the one you are looking for. On my Titan, i have 62 out of 64 and still don't have the one PvP roll I've wanted since the beginning.
For people like me who don’t willingly farm the exotic class items I’d call this a big W, getting 2-3 rolls without having to do anything extra to my weekly play routine is great, even if it is random rolls
Question is: Do you need to actually acquire it first? I haven't done the mission yet, and this would be a huge time saver, especially since I play a lot of Crucible lol.
Damn, you can get multiple. I need to invest in Vanguard stocks now. The useful rolls I have of Stoicism are Hoarfrost + Star-eaters & Inmost light + Star-eaters.
XUR IS USELESS FOR THIS !!! players have not unlocked exotic class items Yet you can focus any exotic engram not to mention it kinda ruins the whole point of getting them in the first place

Finally got HOIL+Syntho doing the Dual Destiny as my double reward this week finally. Now I just want Hoarfrost + Horn for LULZ Strangely enough I have no Hoarfrost rolls on any of my exotic class items
10 years of making cool exotic armour , 100 hours people were grinding light lvl to be able go to lost sector to grind even more for new exotic or good stat roll aaaaaand its all was for nothing 95% of that is now trash you can wipe your ass with because os the class exotic . Nice . 7k hours in this well spent ...

-Inmost/Synthoceps (PvE)
-Ophidian/Contact (PvP)

I got a new drop from xur. But I bought 2 and they were both dupes. I’ve gotten 18 total and about 9 of them are dupes. This game sucks

They scale to the difficulty of the activity so farming GMs when it's an easy one like Saber is a good option
