Americans always seem to struggle with this pronunciation so here’s how we say it in the UK, where it comes from. Just two syllables, woo and ster, wooster sauce. There are lots of examples of this in the UK, Leicester (an English city) is pronounced Lester. Gloucester (another English city) is pronounced Gloster, or Cholmondeley ( an English aristocratic surname) is pronounced Chumley. So to end, Woo Ster sauce, wooster sauce 😃
Wonderful explanation, thanks! Here’s another wrinkle to that problem: everyone here says some form of Wer-shter-sure sauce so if one were to go around suddenly saying Woo-ster as in Jeeves and Wooster, you’d look like (and please correct me if I’m wrong about the British slang) a “right prat” despite being technically correct.
@@CynthiaMsB oh some people here say it, some people here absolutely strangle it, but most people don’t say the vvshire part. There are loads of words like that in the UK.
Smoked paprika is so fire. Thank you I'm going to try this on my fried oysters mushrooms. I don't eat meat so normally when I do your recipes, that's what I use 👍🏾

I love fried oyster mushrooms! 😄👏🏼 And yes, I love putting smoked paprika in everything. Lol!
I second the "leave it in the fridge for 24 hours" instructions. This really helps any sauce flavors to blend together. I have also found it to be true for my chili, soups, potato salad, etc. It take awhile for the separate flavor's of the ingredients to combine into one consistent flavor.
They're building a Raising Canes down the street from us. I've been hearing how good it is for years, so we'll probably try it when it opens. Yours looks good, and is probably way better
Hi A.!!! I liked your 2 recipes for this sauce. I know everyone likes this sauce. I'm not really crazy over it. I take a few dips with my chicken but...I could go without it. I would give your versions a try . Sending this to my Family. They all rave over this sauce. Nice Video!!!...🦋
I trust your versions to try first, Angelica. I know I can season to my own taste, but yours are already wonderful. I might add extra hot pepper because that's what I like. Thank you for this sauce recipe. It goes with so many other things too!
You can buy the Raising Canes Sauce at the frocery store now. My body has a adversion to MSG never eat it. Your versions sound good only becsuse there isnt any preservatives like store bought.
@@Nuisance_Bear Sean Connery was Scottish, so in fact he may have mispronounced it as 'Woo-ster', as a Scots commentator did here. Angelica got it right - 'Woo-ster-shire'.

I think a lot of the best dipping sauces have a similar base as homemade Thousand Island. IIRC my dressing recipe has finely chopped black olives in though. And now I’m craving it…..thanks lol
I’m not really a fan of comeback sauce, but your versions look really tasty! I like using it as a sandwich spread, varying the seasoning a bit to change up the flavor profile depending on the protein in the sandwich. Makes a batch of sliders so easy!!
Yep, 'Fry Sauce', 'Pink Sauce', 'Mayochup', 'Burger Sauce/McDonalds Sauce', 'Yum Yum Sauce' (in Japan - I love that name!), 'Marie Rose Sauce', 'Prawn Cocktail/Seafood Sauce' and even the very similar 'Thousand Island Dressing' and 'Russian Dressing', which look much the same. All of these differently named sauces/dressings have a near-identical, mayonnaise/ketchup base, just different variations of added ingredients/seasonings/flavourings. And all of them compliment a wide range of different foods, eg French fries, burgers, hot dogs, salads, fish/seafood, chicken, pizza, prawn cocktail etc, etc. That mayo-ketchup mash-up is hugely versatile!
Never heard of Raising Cane. Was going to ask why the sauce was called that, but I guess I answered my own question. Makes me wonder though if the sauce actually has "raisin" suace blended in. Or even molasses since that's a well used Cajun ingredient. Maybe that's the secret ingredient no one is suppose to know about😉.
Random but Kewpie Mayo reminded me of Kewpees restaurant in my hometown (Racine, WI) As of 2023, there are only a few remaining Kewpee locations, including three in Lima, one in Lancing, Michigan, and one in Racine, Wisconsin. First Kewpee Hamburgers restaurant opened in Flint, Michigan in 1923, near the end of World War I. The chain was originally called "Kewpee Hotel Hamburgs" and was named after the Kewpie doll, which was created by Rose O'Neill in the early 20th century as a comic strip character. Kewpee was one of the first fast-food chains to offer curbside service, which eventually became drive-in and then drive-thru. The chain grew to over 300 locations across the country before World War II, and was known for its inexpensive burgers and shakes. In 1928, the first Kewpee location in Ohio opened in Lima, built by Hoyt F. “Stub” Wilson and his wife Julia M. “June” Wilson. The Lima Kewpee locations are considered historic sites and still use locally raised beef.

I'm gonna have to look this up. Thank you for sharing this. 😊🙏🏼
It is a Louisiana based Chicken place. Canes chicken is crispy fried tenders, served with crispy crinkle fries, a slice of buttery garlic toast, creamy sweet cole slaw, and canes dipping sauce. And either lemonade or sweet tea. Mmm....
I absolutely DESPISE bell peppers. I love the look of them, but the taste and smell make me want to puke. However, I really love Paprika and use it in a lot of cooking. Go figure! I would definitely add the paprika.
Please smile and look happy when ur taste testing at the end. It makes us believe it's really that good. I love watching your videos, but, you always seem mad with no happy expressions/emotions when you try your food at the end.....it's odd. Try to at least give us happy delicious facial expressions during your taste testing. Xoxo

Also for soups and gumbo!
I agree!
Very true - my home made lasagne is always even more delicious as re-heated leftovers the following day! It takes time for flavours to marry.
Looks good Marinating Chicken in Buttermilk is awesome also
I make mine the SAME way! It's AWESOME with crawfish and shrimp as a dip, too!

The bouillon pwd probably makes it better, because it has msg … which I always have in the spice cupboard 👍🇨🇦
Those sauces would be so good in a chicken, tuna, or egg salad. (Lettuce wrap, especially 😋)
Angelica inspiring ideas! 🥰
I make chipotle sour cream and it so good, we love to drag our crispy tacos thru it! I will have to try this sauce!

Your pronunciation of Worcestershire sauce was spot on.
The secret is pretending that you're Sean Connery when you say it (you might say sauce "Shauche" by accident but you'll get the Worcestershire right)

Literally anything is better than Raising Cane's. No idea why that place gets so much hype.
It might be because it's good? Good enough that plenty of people are posting copycat recipes.

A chicken joint that really only has chicken fingers and sides. You’re not missing much. More of a Midwestern/west area chain.
They basically just sell well-seasoned chicken tenders, fries, toast, and maybe slaw. The dipping sauce is tasty.

I hope the breading was nice and crispy unlike Raising Cane's undercooked crap. Their fries are McDonald's-grade pathetic too.
