“If we can persuade someone to pick up a spray can instead of a knife, instead of a gun, instead of a syringe, I’ve done my job then” is genuinely amazing words.
I always remember his dub ontop of Edgware Road Station with the ''Hi Mum" in the middle. used to make me chuckle. assume she went to work that way lol. Big up Zonk and RIP Joak
You are very professional as RUclipsr and it’s rare to see with all the noise, I can tell you put loads of effort into videos aswell they remind me of the peak Era of channel 4 documentaries back in the day, Keep it up! 👍
saw this in my recommended and was immediately intrigued. i've always wondered how people manage to do the graffiti on the trains every time i see them. really well done video! thanks for this!
First time seeing any of your stuff, absolutely next level! I've been making videos full time as a job for 10 years and the vibe and quality of your content you have here alongside your following is absolute magic in a bottle. It's special. Enjoy it man you're killing it. Thanks for the quality upload!
Icl- this is one of the most naturally investing videos I've personally seen on youtube in a while. I love the way you've documented this guy's journey in graffiti, it feels like you're just exploring something you're genuinely interested in and it shows. It feels real and not like you're just creating content for the sake of it. I'm glad I stumbled upon this channel, keep up the good work! You've put a spark of inspiration in me :)
You know you just lived like a childhood dream of mine going out with zonk. As an 11/12 year old riding the underground with my nan, that was the first artist that caught my eye and got me interested in graff. I think it was a chrome and black piece on the round tower on the approach to st pancras was what did it, crazy spot and spiraling down the stairs Great to hear his life story. What a legend! Always thought he was much older than myself.
This was actually a really good graffiti video because it didn’t make out the writers to be evil dangerous people but showed that they’re human aswell but also warned the risks of the graffiti great video man glad I found this video! R.I.P. LAME
as a person who lives in city where what he said why you want to pick up a spray can instead of other things, that are also a problem this video really helped me understand
Takes me back to my youth, growing up in North London with some of the lads from my school, we used to tag up places around Alexandra Palace and Wood Green. Big up Zonk! Great documentary, thank you for shining a light on the talent of the streets!
This was beautiful. That man is an OG. I can’t claim anything on his level, but graffiti is forever. It’s an addiction I love.will keep doing it forever.
Talented people. There is nothing like when you are sitting in a train and are about to leave or come back to your city and see graffiti art out of the window, you can't but admire the talent and heart behind of it all.. it accompanies you like a warm embrace from a loved one, so essential.
Dude, I just discovered your channel. And this is awesome humor. Last three weeks have been a disaster for me... Dealing with my grandma at hospital while my gf dumps me. Now, also my probation paper arrived and its gloomy af for me. For that smile on my face, cheers bro :)
Most humble guy, his mum took me in when I ran away from home as a young boy, she was an angel rip, zonk was my childhood hero now happy to call him a friend, rip joak my bro ☝️❤️
Never thought I'd see the day when I could watch Zonk hitting a train. Guy has legendary status in London. Always heard he was little Asian guy. Even the old bill called him a legend!
"if we persuade someone to pick up a spray can instead of a knife, ive done my job" that is awesome sure not everyone will like it but its far far far better than the alternatives. thanks for making this video it actually kinda makes me understand why grafitti is such a big thing
"I don't know why anyone would do this, it looks like so much pain" We used to clamber fences and dive through bushes just like that just to find a smoking spot lol
I grew up tagging & piecing ( & skateboarding) now more into channelling that creativity onto big legal walls for mural commissions & chainsaw carving tree sculptures but still love the 1980’s london origins of graff - such a rush getting up (-;
Shout out to big ZONK! brilliant interview. he 100% correct graff is an addiction, once you get past the mid 20's if you keep going that's you a proper graff writer, it's not glamorous it's not nice but you as a graff writer know you won't stop it's sealed, you base your entire life around it before anything else at points
Yes lad let's goooo - bruh it's crazy to me nobody really done a video like this with graffers. Big ups from Australia bro! Funny how slang is same but different for us haha. We have panels (painting in the yard), backjumps or backride panels (second one Zonk says) and then our "bush bombing" is called run ups (as you run up to it from the bushes when it hits the station). Good stuff my brother!! EDIT FOR THAT RLIW
question I have for zonk, as also an aging graffiti writer who took 15 years off. In some ways some things never change, but in a lot of ways the game has changed. What has changed the most in terms of execution? Has cameras, phones, forensics, tracking, train routes, etc has any of that changed for him in 15 years that he had to adjust or is it always just opportunistic in london?
I am so confused, this style of video editing, and content is just pure creativity! More of this, the uk needs more of this atm, tough love, but overall good morals, keep going lad!
ZONK DDS, AC is a Legend on the London Graf scene. Gotta shout out the rest though: SUB, SHUTU, FUME, COSA, ZOMBY/RATE, TEACH/YEAH, OUCH, BOSH, DIET, IDEA/ODEA, CHOP, FORCE/4CE, PILOT, 10FOOT, BAS, TOX, BOZO, MEROK, SKAN, PINS, FAZE, VAMP, PRIME, FUEL. all London Graffiti Legends.
Dope. Its a feeling watching pre social media lads trying to explain getting up to the new generations 😂 Massive props to ZONK DDS. You lads make a trip to London Town better than some whack LA celebrity map 👌
Graffiti bombing trains isn’t wat it use to be.. i started back in 1990 after being so inspired by ‘seen’ work from nyc 1970-90s, i copped a copy of subway art and wild stylee and my passion grew from there!

Zonk interview? Damn, I'm not sure a lot of people know the rep this man has. He bigger than all city. Big ups to you and Zonk.
London has some sick graff...much respect from NYC! 10FOOT has the city locked down
RLIW
10foot all over motorway bridges in the South-East
see them on loads of walls coming in to london on the train
cosa
They say it's a victimless crime. Tell that to the people that have to see it 😂😂
I see 10foot in Portugal once and a while, don’t know if it them or just a fan tho
It’s literally infuriating that banksys pieces will be worth millions , but these artists are considered criminals. Great video 👍 ❤️
Banksy is a bad example to use because banksy is still considered a criminal, even though he's famous for being one.
The reveal at the end was mad wholesome. shoutout zonk
The way he speaks about his mum is buetiful ❤❤
Spend some more time in English class. It will help with your spelling when you graffiti trains
