feels like I've finally found a video made the way I'd imagine to make videos myself. I like photography but a frame of a few seconds really catches a moment
For anyone wanting more of these types of visuals, there's a movie called Godland (or Vanskabte Land) by Hlynur Pálmason coming out in December that has a very similar visual style Edit: Coming out in December *in the United States*
i love everything about this, your shots, your colour grading, your editing . everything is so perfect :D i would love to see a video on how you edit your footage
I have no idea how I got recommended this, but it's incredible The series of shots at 1:20, each encompassing a whole different colour palette and emotion attached to it I love it
I think what sets this video apart, and its most underrated characteristics, are the sound effects. They add so much to the film and make it seem like it was taken straight out of a wes anderson film.
Halfway through, I stopped watching this video. Not because it was boring. Not because I suddenly needed to do something else. I stopped because I've seen these scenes time and time again, and yet, I never really appreciated any of these in my day to day life. Why did a single video on the internet compel me to slow down after all these years? I don't know, but I do know that this happened for good. Thank you for posting video.
wow the green... color grading is incredible. I have a similar video of friends walking into fog down a hill, inspiring me to finally make a video like this and use all the clips I've been collecting
Just stumbled across this on my recommended, beautiful short film. But was flabbergasted when I saw the flat in which I live in Glasgow!! First floor above a pub called ‘The Dolphin’!!! At around 0:55 - 2 windows at the corner is my living room and the single window to the left is where I sleep at night hahaha
I am lost, a grain of sand in a desert of possibilities and yet i am still shrouded in a fog of my own self loathing. this piece has reminded me of times long past. of times i wish i could visit again.
This is great. For 5 years now I have also been recording short clips of moments, but haven't actually compiled them into anything. I really enjoyed your selection of soundtrack.
If I were to describe your videos in one word it would be NATURAL. This is the unprecedented beauty of capturing the world and the people that live on it in its essence.
this is now one of my favourite videos ever, your cinematography is beautiful and i love the mood you have created i felt taken into a new world watching this! my dream is to travel and seeing this makes me strive to reach that dream, you have made this world look truly magical! i feel inspired thank you so much for the effort you have put into this :)))
I never comment on RUclips videos. I usually will skip through videos due to my laughably short attention span. I watched the whole thing through uninterrupted. This is absolutely top notch. I was captivated. Well done sir.
@@dasgerm4797 I've searched for the cineprint16. Is it an independent program for editing or is it a complementary tool for the program davinci resolve 18? I have no idea
I must say that this video has singlehandedly inspiried me to record my own shorts like this. Some of them went to festivals, some didnt, in any case I fell in love with recording and expressing myself this way, on this platform! Thank you!
everysingle one feels like an establishing shot for a Wes Anderson film. given his style is hard to recreate, this is genuinely some of the best direction in photography ive seen in a while.
You being this defensive only reveals how insecure you are about your actual film knowledge. The camera language is completely different, the color grading is completely different. It's all different. That's not to say it isn't good, because it is, it's just different lol.
the composition, framing, quality and the music, every shot of it are cinematic and emotional i feel comfortable, nostalgic and weirdly felt "happy-sad" it's beautiful
Wow, this really shows the power of color grading and editing, music, everything. This genuinely looks like a movie, every single shot. You have a great eye
This is so amazing - You made all these tiny things seem dramatic and like something straight out of a film. Very inspiring! I love the stairwell shot at 1:46
This made me think about the last trip I've had with a person who used to be my best friend. We no longer speak to each other, but some moments, like watching your film, makes me think about them all over again.
I just recently came up with the idea to start filming and documenting moments in my life, and coming across this video really inspires me for what to do and how to do it, exactly how I envisioned it in my head
This video is so peaceful . Its like you are actually into life but here in this video you are out of life and you can just watch what is happening without any emotion ❤
Once again great work. You inspire me to go out and film more. Cinematography, sound design, composition and of course the amazing colour grading all on point. Keep it up. I would pay for a grading course from ya! Think about it! Cheers from Greece!

I think they are over-egged. But for an arts based project everyone here loves it, so who am I to disagree. And one again the audience is to never be disrespected, even when I have 30years of film grading experience. Love the composition, I wish there was more work like this on RUclips.
@@mrrafsk Hmm, fair enough. To be honest I felt like this was just a showcase video to display ones skills. The composition is definitely nice, though I think the colour-grading work (and its over-eggedness) has its role to play in accentuating the vision the composition follows.
the colour grading is just, wow, this is a masterpiece. The shots and colour remind me of Wes Anderson’s work, please drop me a message or something so I can learn your process!
Omg just imagine that you had a tripod with you to don't shake up the pictures is such a enormous privilege! I love your art work, your cutting, music and work so much so much love from Germany 🐲
I believe the shake represents the presence of the observer :) It's cool that it's there as we are viewing through his eyes, capturing the experiences as humans do.
Maybe it was meant like that? I like to see the images slightly shake because it shows how real the moment feels because you know there's a person behind that camera holding it that's why it's shaking a bit and not fully still behind attached to an object ( a tripod) though I do get your point!
i love it when people film the most ordinary things, and make it so extraordinary. moments like these are just so lovely in the smallest way possible.
Realizing that ordinary things are all extroardinary is the key to the good life.

this is insane. it blew my mind that this was shot on digital. could've sworn it was film. how did you get that wonderful bloom and halation?
Bloom was probably due to a mist or cinebloom filter and Resolve has a built in effect for halation.
Prob dehancer/ film box or cineprint 16
There's a halation effect that comes with Davinci Resolve. It needs some tweaking out of the box but that's what creators use
