That's a function of your instrument, your amp, your PA, your ears, and the context in which you're playing (other musicians, etc.). It's really impossible to suggest any settings without hearing you in context.

Ipad pro max (what I have is more powerful than most computers),,, e,g, they now have thunderbolt/usb c now … can this notion of computers only be revised for that?

Does that mean you cannot connect any electric violin to a computer using an aux cable or the cable that comes with the violin
Your computer probably doesn't have a place to plug an aux cable into. If it does, it's an exceedingly cheap input. I'd definitely use an interface.
