Thanks Doyle. Just listened to 2-19-23 String Along. We happened to do a kind of medley of praise songs, and Here I am to Worship was one. Pastor Karl(180 Chicago Church) called me in the middle. I told him we have to get Doyle to "lead";) worship. Thanks again. Love String Along 💥✝️
Hi, buddy! Haven’t heard your dulcet tones (guitar and spoken voice) for ages. You mentioned David’s passing earlier this year...oh my, I hope his time after the lovely Martha passed wasn’t too lonely: he was devoted to that wonderful lady. Carole and I are pretty well (particularly Carole - still a babe!). Love to the lovely Rita, the three H’s and your grandchildren, the greatest blessing of them all! Ps: my parents are still in superb, shape 90 and 93, and my dad, Ken, is still recording and raring to start gigging again. His voice is growing stronger - go figure! Love from Terry & Carole xx
Thanks for reading my question about the Orange DDSM. You allowed me to hold it and get a picture with you. You will always be a real life Guitar Hero for not only your talent, but your honoring your promise to God to tell others about Him all over the world. Prayers for you to be able to get back on the road and keep playing and praising God. Blessings!
Thanks Doyle for sharing with us. I would love to hear you play the Changing of the Guard. Has to be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Me and my younger brother Terry heard you playing it for the first time in Beaumont Texas at Guitar and Banjo Studios many years ago . Pray for him and anyone else who reads this comment, he has stage 4 lung cancer and is in a tremendous amount of pain. We have seen you play over a dozen times all over Texas and Nashville , thank you for sharing your faith at the events.
Thank you Doyle. You inspire me to play my classical and acoustic more in church and to others. I’m in the process of learning some of your songs now. You are a blessing.
The quality of the technical video is much better, Doyle! Your work on this area has surely improved the video posts. Glad you are playing your Guild! Yes, I also like your other guitars but that Guild really works in larger venues! Nice hair cut, too!
Doyle, maybe you could do a video on the use of diminished chords and passing chords, getting from one chord to another and some tips and tricks on how to do that better. That would be awesome. Thank you and God bless .
You signed my natural, DDSM back in 2010 , at Alto Music in Middletown, NY. I remember when I took it out of the case ,.. you said, Wow, that's a beautiful guitar, that's a $5000 guitar. I had to laugh.. You were blown away, by your own guitar.. You were playing the beautiful orange one at the time. Your signature has pretty much worn off, the back of the headstock,.. but the moment remains in my memory.
Thanks for answering my question about how to keep a fingerstyle solo from falling apart on stage when the pressure is on. I love the scripture reference! I am the minister of music at my church. New Beginnings Assembly of God. Thanks for the detailed answer, I appreciate what you said, and I will take your advice. Randy.
12:14 the guitar behind you falls down! OMG, was it damaged? That scared me haha! I tried to reach through my screen to save it! Love your playing, Mr.Doyle Dykes!🐰❤️🎸🎵🤝✌️
Re: Doyle forgetting the riffs from the past. I remember Chet and Jerry chatting and Chet said "Well, Jerry ... I'm the only one who remembers all those brilliant songs you wrote."
Doyle... Always love the vids and your playing, especially this Q&A stuff. I don't know why this came to me but I've worked with leather through the years and it just occurred to me so I'll throw it out there. I see you have several nice custom leather straps, the best product I've found to keep leather well conditioned is Bick4 lotion. It was recommended to me by T.O.Stanley(custom bootmaker extraordinaire) years ago and if you don't have anything to keep them conditioned you should try it. It works on everything, including exotics of all kinds, etc. except suede/nubuck. Never darkens the leather and it's amazing.
I saw you do an "in-store" performance at Seminole Music in Florida many years ago. I've been a fan ever since. I never saw anyone play acoustic guitar the way you do, it was fascinating.
I have a six string baritone uke 20 inch scale can you suggest a string for this ? I like a bright sound with a soled clean bass sound I also have a short scale classical a full-scale and a few steel string acoustic. Thanks in advance for comments

How about coming to Alaska some day?
How do you finger pick a 12-string without getting your nails stuck between the doubled strings? Love your videos!
Is there tab available for "Jazz in the Box"?

However long it takes to see the promised land
Southern breeze don’t feel like anything to me

Let them see the heart that beats behind my skin
Lord, set me free
Set me free so we can do the same for them+
