As a niners fan, I’m hyped for the Texans this coming season. Demeco is a hella of a coach. We miss him here at the niners.
Ppl don't understand how impressive the Texans rly were. They were able to make it to the divisional round w/o Tank Dell and Noah Brown, with no run game, and tons of OL and DL injuries.
They bolstered their defense, got Diggs and Mixon, and are getting back their OL. They are SB contenders now.

They have a legit coach that the players respect. As a Niner fan, I knew he would be great for the Texans. I just thought it would take a couple of years. Ryan will have that defense in the top 5 this year. And as long as Stroud doesn't get that sophmore slump, their offense will be top 5 as well. Lamar will be another year older and trying to do too much with his legs. Eventually that will catch up to him. I like Cincy but Burrow seems to always get hurt. I can see why Houston could be #2 in the AFC.

The Ravens didn't have their best RB, go-to receiver, and best corner either, plus most of their players hadn't played in 3 weeks. You can moan about injuries all you want but when you're 2-12 all-time against Baltimore, you have no right to talk until proven otherwise. I'd definitely put them over the bengals. We'll see how all those defensive losses in FA will harm the Ravens but they're still well coached at least so I'd still have them #2 too until further notice.

Acho is right. The Texans are coming. Can they take the next step? I think they have the best leader they can in Demeco Ryans and one of the best QBs in CJ Stroud. It's going to be fun watching them regardless!
My first inclination is, are the Texans going to actually take a step back? Sometimes, it isn't as easy the second season. Lot of additions, but sometimes additions don't work out. I don't think you can just write off their division either. Was a fan of their turn around last year but it's a common trend I've seen over my years of watching football, new head head coach and doing great, take a slight step back the following year before getting better.
Considering they couldn't even get into the redzone vs the Ravens in that Playoff game, this is insanely disrespectful.

Ravens should be #2. If the bengals keep Higgins and Burrows healthy, they’re still the biggest threat to the Chiefs until further notice. Texans up there though. Dolphins and Tua especially CANNOT play in the cold so they are a void in the post season
Not if the the Dolphins would have kept up their pace and had almost no cold weather games like the Texans do this year. The Texans get to host all the cold weather teams late in the year save for the last week of the season when they go to New Jersey. All their really tough matchups they get to host.
They have so many winnable games it's not funny. Go ahead check their schedule. They could go 14-3 if everything goes right. If they do, then you have to beat them in a controlled environment all the way through to February and the Super Bowl in the Superdome.

Jackson just had one of his best seasons, Ravens crushed everybody in their path, only to be outcoached and outplayed by Reid, Spags, and the gang. Jackson humbled ALL other QBs but Mahomes, who himself got humbled multiple times this season. Jackson belongs to this elite group of 4 or 5 QBs any team would dream to have.
No team wins when they have 6 rb Carrie’s. Harbaugh is 0-31 when the ravens rush for under 20 carries. That includes Flacco.

Here’s why you can logically drop the Ravens to 4th…the AFC Divisional round was Chiefs/Bills and Ravens/Texans, followed by KC/Ravens. If you place them in order, it’s KC, Ravens, Bills, Texans. Because the Bills lost to KC who went on to win the Super Bowl, their loss isn’t as bad as the Texans losing to the Ravens. If you look at got teams have improved or gotten worse, you could say the Ravens might not make it past the Divisional round against a better Texan team or Bengals team. If the Ravens lost the team that then loses in the AFC championship, then the Ravens are the #4 team.

@@dice1997 well for 1 they are good enough in the regular season to be likely to get the 1 seed again, which will give them a bye allowing them to at the very least make the divisional round. Based off predicted win totals the bengals could face the chiefs and be eliminated in the first round. Secondly, they beat down on the Texans and made the AFC championship round this year.

Burrow was injured, entirety of the Bills were injured, don’t know if I even have to speak on the Chiefs problems, so we can’t say he for sure will get no.1 again when the only teams that could challenge him were dealing with a lotta things. And idk how much you can talk about that Texans win when they lost 17-7 one week later.
If they played the 3 teams I listed earlier and they didn’t have to deal with even half of the issues they had this year, the Ravens don’t get the first seed, and don’t make the conference championship. Final.

I like Stroud and the Texans, but winning the offseason doesn't always translate to winning in the season or the post-season. Anybody remember the Jets last year? When you have success in the NFL, everything gets harder the next year. The Texans will have a first place schedule this year since they won their division. They're clearly a top 5 team in the AFC. Top 2? We'll find out.
Only thing that might trip the Texans up is gonna be the plethora of prime time games and strength of schedule low key

Does anyone know what's going on with Houston's salary cap space? When they signed Diggs and restructured his contract he went from 18 to 22.5 million and the Texans cap space dropped to 7 million, AND NOW it says Diggs is making 5 million and the Texans have 24 million in cap space. This is on Spotrac too, it doesnt say anything was restructured, other than the 1st time going from 18 to 22.5. And Sportrac tells you every official move made by each team, everything and it says nothing. Is it a mess up?
Nevermind found the answer, it's just not recorded on sportrac for some reason. Here is what I found -
"Specifically, Diggs will receive a $20.805 million signing bonus, have a base salary of $1.21 million, $250,000 in an offseason workout bonus and per-game roster bonuses up to $255,000. His cap hit for 2024 will be $5.876 million."
In other words Texans still have over 24 million in cap space and can sign another big name player if they want to.

Texans vs Ravens 2023 playoffs...Texans came off of two incredibly difficult games prior to playing Baltimore...Colts fornthe AFC South crown..then Browns..one of the best Defenses in the league. Ravens came off of two weeks of rest. Texans were gassed second half, you can see it noticeably. Not to take anything away from Baltimore, but that game is much closer if Baltimore didn't have as much rest and Texans didn't have such a punch in the gut schedule prior.
Against the ravens it was tied at halftime with Nico collins as our only weapon ofc we lost but with mixon we’re gonna have a run game and they can’t stop tank nico and diggs😭

I understand why he puts Texans at 2 but I can also see the ravens be at 2 as well. Texans got spanked in the playoffs but they added so many players especially on defense most of those players that played in that game are gone. It’s not going to be the same.
I'm clearly missing something. I understand the final score of the game between the Texans and the Ravens was a wide margin, but last I checked, going into the 4th quarter, the Texans were in a close game with the Ravens. In Baltimore. Is this revisionist history or do they KEEP saying this simply off that 4th quarter? Someone please help
Burrow and the Bengals have never forgotten who they were or froze up and played out of character when they were up against Mahomes and the Chiefs. Lamar and the Ravens have. That’s the difference.
The only time burrow won anything is when lamar got hurt. Was leading the north one year and the afc the other year and bengals still almost lost at home to tyler huntley while burrow played like trash in the playoffs. Lamar healthy and bengals will be lucky to make the pmayoffs.
Texans without a doubt have gotten better. They bring up the Texans getting drubbed by the Ravens but the Texans competed for the 1st half and in the 2nd half the Texans inexperience showed along with their lack of talent. This team is better than that 2023 team.

It’s because everything nowadays is measured against the Chiefs and the Bungles got their one flukey playoff win against them which in many casuals eyes is worth more than an actual resume of accolades😂😂😂
If a QB is mediocre in the playoffs like Lamar, people will eventually catch on. He is who he is and won’t ever win because he can’t beat great defenses with his arm in the playoffs.
