I do prefer the classic beard, it's the one I hope to grow in, it's getting there.

Modern beard is trend/fad, classic beard is timeless.
Being 66 YO, Classic all the way. Sported a Goatee for over 30 years. Sides are not that full up to the cheek bone. So a fade would not work. Also I am bald.... but my beard is very similar to yours in this vid. Thanks for all your great content and advice, my beard was started by watching one of the Beardbrand videos of you couple years back. It is my retirement gift to myself... Wife is used to it now.... I always like the look of a classic beard and want to grow one however as a 17 year old I'm currently limited to going for a modern beard as my hair growth is still far too slow.
I rock mine slightly faded at the sides.
My cheek line hasn't full coverage, so I don't need to trim it.
But I trim my stache, just to keep the hair out of my food 😉
I consider my beard a modern classic👍🏻
I think it depends on the individual and what best suits their face

I prefer to wear my beard as "classic lenght" but with clean cut lines-well trimmed/groomed if that makes any sense.
Maybe for a future episode it would be great to see the classic and modern styles on different face shapes, round, square, thin etc and compare the differences. Might be tough to do, but I'd definitely be interested!

I spent a couple of years blow drying my beard straighter every day to make it “neater” now in the last 6 months I’m going full classic. Brushing a quick towel dried beard every day and just letting it be. Trimming it topiary style. It’s a big round wild beard but I always dress Clean and fresh and wet shave my head every day to offset it and I’m so much happier with my wild curly beard. Especially when I look around and see everybody’s neatly styled beards. It makes me feel
A little more individual. Which I like 👍🏻

Ive always been a classic beard guy when I was able 2 grow my beard I let it grow full and thick even at a point I grew it very long and wild even now with me grooming it more I still let it grow I love a thinck fuller looking beard never a fan of faded beard and I will always keep my beard full and thick with a good length been like this since I was 18
Classic beard for me. Personally, I grow my hair and beard out because I don’t like shaving or getting it cut so if ever I have to style it more than just shaping it up, off it goes. Usually to a mustache. To each their own though!
Always went with modern beard but recently have been going with classic beard and i feel and look much better in my opinion. Always wanted a classic beard but with the beards coming back and most guys doing the modern beard you will feel a little out but once it gets longer it will become better!
I like both. I think the shape of your face is also a factor. I have a classic beard - went to a fade modern and my face looked too thin and long. Back to classic now!
At the moment leaning towards classic, but I'll trim the slides slightly to maintain two vertical lines that frame my face. Currently rocking a skin fade on the sides so there's a slight transition between bald and full beard
I've done both but 90% of the time I have a nice classic beard. I like them way better.

I honestly like both but I enjoy classic more.i do have one side that is patchy but it's not noticeable when it's grown out.

I prefer the classic beard and I already have almost 5 months old beard with a little bit of trimming from the chin side just to match the sides to give a boxy look to my beard just like your beard
Could you please produce a video on how to trim a curly beard? I've found it really challenging with trimmer guards since the hair curls onto itself. Going freehand with a trimmer has helped, but I'd love some tips like how to trim down the sides, etc.
I Think faded beards are pretty cool but definitely not my style. I definitely love a classic beard more. I’m back on a another journey of growing another beard out. I can’t wait for it to get full and thick again!

I prefer the classic. But im running a sort of combo with both classic and modern beard
classic, been growing and not cutting since feb. this year.
All the local barbers in my area seem to only use clippers and trimmers. Scissors seem to be a lost art. They buzz me with 2, 3 and a 4 then out the door. A few will use a straight razor on your neck, but that’s it. I have a “teens” or “classic” beard and have since 2013.
Last few years I sported the modern but now I'm 50 I'm going for old skool classic 👌
I’m a little bit of both. I fade the side burns Into my hair and line up my cheeks. But keep the rest natural.

I'm a classic beard guy. I am wondering what you think about the impact of hair COLOR on style choice. I haven't seen very many gray "modern beards". It seems to be a style choice for younger men. Thoughts?
I prefer classic but like both. The thing I noticed about the modern beard, particularly longer ones, you have to have really good beard genetics to pull it off since it’s so tightly shaped. Anyone with patchy spots or lack of growth will most likely not be able to pull it off very well, where a classic, with less tightness can help fill gaps and a better shape can be achieved. My two cents

I have a semi modern, longer, not as faded but shorter on the sides..... my full Full beard makes me look like a damn wookie.

Thankfully I am able to go from modern to classic. In the summer I usually sport a modern look and in the winter I'll let it be classic.
Classic all the way! love the natural look. Personally I find the "modern" way too nice for it to be a beard. Imo beards are sign of power and strength, keeping it nice to me just takes off that feeling.

Never was a fan of fading beards unless it's into the bald or clean. I prefer the classic one, close to what Carlos has but slightly longer and pointier.

Greg I'm more if a classic beard guy, I would even say "hybrid beard" simply cuz I like mine shorter on the sides and longer/stronger on the bottom. If u ever see me with a "modern beard" it's cuz I messed up my line up🤪😁

A beard's beauty, charm and personality is it's ruggedness. I consider it a crime to fade or define a beard in any way.

I've had a shorter slightly faded clipper cut beard for years. I grew tired of seeing every other guy with a perfectly trimmed highly manicured "modern beard", so I went the other way recently and am growing out a classic beard for the first time in my 48 years. Dig it! Look at the trends and go the opposite way!

I think classic beard is the best by far, but modern beard is a better option for those who don’t have a dense beard, I use modern because my beard is not that thick

I have experimented with many different styles of beards of years the beard stash classic beard goatee mutton chops sideburns with mustache sideburns with goatee circle beard then goatee with mustache Fu Manchu and modern faded beard but here likely as I'm getting into Judaism and following the mosaic laws I have just been sticking with the classic beard not even trimming my cheek lines or my neck and just letting it grow

Help! At 28 months growth, it seems my beard is now thinning-out and getting shorter! I don't know why. What to do?
First, I think you should try the "modern" style. That would be an awesome change for you. You've gone from no beard to beard for us to see. From short hair, to long hair, to short again. Trying the modern look would be a really neat change.
As far as I'm concerned, I guess you'd call it classic. There's no fade, but it is trimmed monthly, not squared off and relatively short, maybe an inch. (I should really change that profile picture. 😛)

my experience with 10" or so white beard (ex). in Virginia from Richmond to Maine you must be a mountain man, the folks hate long beard's in Pa and they think you must be Amish which I don't think they like for some reason, NY they think you must be homeless. trimmed down to close, it's too fn hot this summer...

Greg: I have always thought that the early Czar of Russia had an outstanding beard. To me, that was the most aristocratic, and a truly power style.
Since I found my friend/barber he gives me the modern touch! But I’m also bald so?
Have a bald head. I have a high fade on the sides and classic for the rest of my beard.
I’d like to try and grow out a beard but my facial hair only grows off my side burns and the bottom of my chin, it never seems to grow or fill out anywhere else. Is there anything I can do to try and stimulate hair to grow on my actual face? 😅

Classic, for sure. Why spend all that time and money on a style that will require almost daily maintenance? If I had my cheeks lined up and beard faded like that the look would be gone by the next morning, or day after at the latest. I prefer a bigger beard in general though and I'm not crazy about a super clean look that requires so much maintenance that my sleep duration suffers :) But, it's all subjective so you do you and I'll do me and there will be more happiness in the world because of it.
Classic looks badass but in professional world if you may want to be less questioned modern beard can be given priority
