    Great invention and a great draw for busy courses to put thru more golfers. A win for all parties involved.
    It is a sedentary sport so we carried 3 clubs; #1 driver, wedge and putter and a couple of balls. Each hole had to be completed in 3 minutes and if it went over the player was charged a swing for each 15 seconds so we had to set our digital alarms for each hole. We would run in series so the next player would start 6 minutes after the player ahead. Basically we were sprinting between holes and would do 9 holes in about 30 minutes and get a great aerobic work out similar to the winter biathlon; cross country skiing, settle down so you can take the shot.

    Personally, this looks like fun and bet I would enjoy it. I am open to new technology and trying to attract new players and maintaining existing players. I also know you can't please everyone. Yet, I have not seen this address a few concerns on how this speeds up golf except moving you down the fairway quicker/closer to the green. IMHO- Moving players along faster will always come down to the weakest link, be that the player that has to hunt for a lost ball, cruise the water for balls, poor pin placement, bad course design, 5 practice swings, etc. I can walk a round in 4 hours with no one ahead of me with no problem and will try this out when I see it.

    Admirable idea but it won't help you play a round under four hours unless everyone on the course uses one of these GolfBoards. The main reason for slow play is the fact there are other golfers. And I definitely don't see everyone adopting this concept. Also, a lot of weekend golfers like to chill and drink their beer in a golf cart while waiting for slow players in front of them. It's the only way that makes it tolerable. Standing on a golfboard would only make one more antsy.

    I don't have a problem with carts because they have wide tires that don't produce a heavy rut. Just the one dude swinging around the green with this, you can see rut. These are okay for bobby brown courses but if it's green, keep it clean. Don't want to see these at my course.

    Golf shouldn't be a rush sport but playing on allowed speed like 12-14 mins. time limit per hole is suffice at pace whether walking, riding or using electric golf caddy like I do. This golfboarding might not allowed in some golf courses though...IMO

  • @jameslovering9158
    @jameslovering9158 6 лет назад

    Lot of factors in slow play, mostly just that slow play, even with carts people play slow. Players shooting over 100 are just very slow, this doesn't help them. Maybe a timer system on the holes to ensure people play at speed.

      ReallyFilthyToad It actually has 30% less impact on a course than a fully loaded golf cart and is 1/5 the weight of one. (weighs 118 lbs without a golf bag and rider) It uses Kenda tires, the leading manufacturer of riding lawnmower tires. It also disperses turf ware by allowing the riders to go in separate directions, rather than the same path over and over again like golf carts.

  • @starnet36
    @starnet36 5 лет назад

    The biggest drawback, I think, is you'll need to get the course's permission before using it on their course. I would think a lot of courses would not allow them as it will take away revenue generated from their cart rentals. Or, like in a restaurant when you bring your own wine, they charage a corkage fee.

    • @wking8

      +High Voice Royce Not at all. Played 18 with one over the weekend. As fast as a golf cart. No wear on the course. You can ride them right up to the greens. Less space for inventory, easier and faster to charge than carts. It lasted me the entire 18. So judgmental without trying....tisk tisk. Oh well, I at least had the fun!

    • @HVR5567
      @HVR5567 8 лет назад

      Wyatt King Carts last at least 36 holes, you can inventory over 100 per course and they can store 2 players. It would take 400 of these useless things to accommodate a regular inventory at golf courses. This is just like the one person cart....a fad... trust me, this will be old news in 2 years. Remember the segway for golf? Yeah thats right....what happened? LOL

      Wyatt King LOL grandpa? brother I am 38 years old and a golf professional. Been playing for 35 years. I know more about the business than you could dream of. Trust me these will be going out of style in 2 years. No corporation will support this investment. Only ones that do are the high end daily fee clubs which are 12% of our clubs. Dont get me started brother. In the 7 operations I have run we constantly used 75% of our fleet twice a day. Some carts go out 3 times a day but we limit this to avoid uneven wear and tear. I can name countless "products" like this that have already come and died. Ever go to the PGA show? Oh thats right probably not, I have gone 20 years in a row....trust me these will be gone.

    More compaction caused by more wheels which equals poor turf health! More drunk people on wheels thinking they should drive on greens!!!! More people with earbuds in doing something other than paying attention to the beautiful detail of greenskeeper artistry, nature, and the worlds greatest game ( played best with a mind thats still, not spinning like a wheel )

    Great product for 20 year olds,
    Speed of golf is bullshit! Your 4 ball might all be on golf boards and wizzing along, but you cant play any faster than the 70 years old weekend 4 ball members whom are walking in front of you (....and the 10+ other four balls in front of them!!!!).
    80% of club golfers are over 50...nobody over 50 is going to feel comfortable on an elaborate over priced skateboard!!!

    So if I understood correctly, the golfboard is for under 30 golfers who are too tied to walk when playing golf. In short it's for Americans. A large part of the pleasure in golf comes from talking with friends and walking for 4 hours. This toy is another stuff made to break social relations. It's not a progress in any way. So bad...

  • @Adamski727
    @Adamski727 9 лет назад +11

    Use your legs instead, you Americans need the exercise. Drive ur car to the golfcourse, drive the board round the track, stop in the drive thru at fast food place going home. Watch yourself tipp over the 400 pound mark. Great lifestyle, and so healthy!
    Just another unnecessary gadget adding to the problem.
