    How a person with MR get Pulmonaey artery hypertension.??

      Most common cause of MR is Rheumatic Heart Disease
      In Rheumatic heart disease there is some degree of Mitral Stenosis as well
      So increased back pressure
      Increased pressure in left atrium - pulmonary vein - pulmonary capillaries - pulmonary artery
      That's how Pulmonary hypertension is found in MR

      More precisely PA.HT seen in acute MR but not in chronic MR due to accommodation....thats why there is LA enlargement in chronic MR and no LA enlargement in acute MR........
