- American Patriots, finding a job is harder than ever. A lot of people are confused about the economy of the United States right now. What state is it in, exactly? There are many large employers and Fortune 500 companies where mass layoffs are taking place, and many job seekers are struggling to find employment. Despite this, the Biden administration and the mainstream media paint a picture that everything is rosy and the unemployment rate is low. How can there be such a disconnect?
This is the stark reality of American society and the middle class. Prepare yourselves and your families if at all possible, because it's sink or swim, and the American people must be prepared for anything that comes our way and anything that could happen in the near future.
Most Americans find it hard to retire comfortably amid economy downtrend. Some have close to nothing going into retirement, my question is, will you pay off mortgage as a near-retiree, or spread money for cashflow, to afford lifestyle after retirement?
as most investing-related questions, the answer is, it depends.. my best suggestion is to consider advisory management

Pay off the mortgage, pay off the credit card debt and pay off the car note going into retirement and maybe you can retire peacefully if the property taxes is not too high

The automation of jobs has been going on continuously since the 19th Century. But in the last 60 years, it has exploded and will only get more and more destructive of our means to earn a living. This is why government benefits have concomitantly exploded since LBJ's Great Society of the 1960's.

Oh boy… Sounds like you are in your early twenties. Definitely not old enough to understand how this is much much worse than 2008. The US is now in Great Depression territory. My advice is to start taking your money out of the banks ASAP. There’s too much to list but start there and get your money into assets that’s not tied to the stock market. Do some research on what a CBDC is because it’s coming.

I’ve been unemployed since January 2nd 2024!! Almost as long as when I was laid off during the pandemic. There are jobs out there, but definitely no jobs paying what I used to make.

What the government has done to housing was no accident. I just have difficulty believing that the people in government, who are highly educated and have access to all the great and keen minds in every profession, didn't know what they were doing and the likely effect on their decisions.

The unemployment rate is really the percentage of American's claiming unemployment benefits. Many Americans are not eligible for benefits. Also, many people are denied unemployment.

The whole point of wealth for me is freedom. My magic number in my mind is 5 million needed at 65 to not worry about anything. Am i better off investing a good portion of my income into stocks or Real Estate to achieve this goal?
Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. My net worth is $2M and I can pay my bills with no stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

I'm quite lucky to be exposed to personal finance at an early age, started job at 19, bought first home 28, got laid-off work 36 amid covid-outbreak, and at once I consulted an advisor to handle growing my finance. As of today, I'm only 25% short of my $1m goal after subsequent investments.

Been chronically unemployed since covid nothing but gig jobs and worry every month if my bills are going to get paid or not.
I applied for a job and received an email saying that they wanted to interview me. I clicked the link to schedule and it says all of the slots are full and we'll contact you when spots become available. A week later I get another email saying spots are open to schedule the interview. I went ahead and scheduled the interview. When I showed up to the interview, I waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited, I finally got up, and went home.
Check with an employment agency.. Some companies go thru them when they are short staffed. Sometimes they end up hiring you. Good luck. 😊

Been trying to find a job since November, with a Master's Degree and 15 years of work history; wages are down 30% in my area on top of that for Industrial work, and I live in a Sanctuary County. Pretty sure they're all related. Corporations are also leaving open jobs they aren't filling to fluff their numbers, AI is also infinitely farther along than companies are telling you; and these jobs being replaced by AI are being hidden, to delay government legislation of AI.
In my area at least, people will not work. The place that I work at is constantly accepting applications but people aren't filling them out. Ever since covïd and the 2 years of substantial government handouts many people are flat out refusing to go back to work. Clinging to the hope that those government financial windfalls will strike again.
Because workers are treated like slaves except, "we" get to pick our master and hope the master hires us.
My cousin was kinda forced to join the military cause she couldn't survive on her own with the income she made at her job, now she stays on the military base and work for the government

We have many job postings. All of them are 18 to 20 an hour and very few applicants. Where are all the younger people just starting out. These jobs require no experience, just a HS diploma and pass a drug and back gound check

Since January, that counting forty people I know ( closest loved ones and friends of the family ) who lost their jobs... and not one found work since😢.

Because they are not telling you about the layoffs that have already happened and the ones that are taking place between now thru April-July of which all of these people, are on severance packages so they won’t hit non farm payroll. You won’t know about them until they fall off severance! These fortune 500’s are hiring contractors outside the US and paying the Agencies 3x the hourly wage of the employee so the Company doesn’t have to have a employee on the books, paying payroll taxes, social security taxes, 401k. They would rather pay $300 an hour to an Agency per corporate employee, than have an employee on the books.

One of the biggest problem is theft, people want a job but they don’t want to work.good people are hard to find.the ones that do want to work leave because they can’t tolerate the co workers don’t work so they quite. That relates to businesses that can’t find workers so they shut down. Raising the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour then you have to raise the prices then the company is pricing them selfs out of business. Especially restaurants, coffee shops etc. the government is causing this and everything to go up then you’re back to square one again. Non skilled labor does not deserve $15 an hour, our country it is being destroyed.I’m not paying $16 for a McDonald’s meal. I m boycotting fast food and any other business that cost me too much!! One problem is we do need migrants because no one wants to work in the fields for as little as they do. There are a lot of seasonal workers that work the farms and ranches for almost no pay, because none of would work for so little.
