    In addition to these items I carry a 2 ton scissor jack and breaker bar/wheel lug nut from Princess Auto or Harbour freight. I would use the Slime as a last resort.

      exactly. slime is a last resort for sure.

      When I have a flat a typical scissor jack won’t fit w the puck. Have you used a jack on a real flat?

    Wait, do you carry a jack in the trunk of your car?

    As I own a many Tesla tire foam is nearly impossible to fill your tire with if indeed they are stock tire and. It only that, if you force slime into your tire like I did it will ruin to sensor on the valve, believe me I tried forcing slime into the valve and I even remove the tiny valve inside the nipple and was nearly impossible to fill.

      I've not had to use any sealant yet on my car but might save you if you happen to get a bad flat where you can't get help quickly. Tesla sells an airpump with sealant and sealant you can add via the tire valve. shop.tesla.com/product/air-compressor-_-tire-repair-kit-2_0

    Thanks for this - useful! Question: why buy a set of FOUR pucks/jack pads? For tire changes I will only ever need to use one puck to jack up a corner of the car, right? I suppose four pucks would be needed if one is using 4 car stands to lift the entire car at once for some major mech work.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  Год назад +1

      I agree that I normally only use 1 too. Not sure why they don't sell only one but they all sell them as a set of 4.

      @@BCTeslaGuy Easy.. if you take ur Tesla to a regular garage, they will likely use a hoist to lift the vehicle.. hence 4 pucks. 😁

    When I’ve had a flat in my M3 it is too low at that point to allow a scissor jack w pucks. Still have not found a jack w low enough profile when flat that fits.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  11 месяцев назад +1

      there are lots of low profile floor jacks. I got one from harbor freight. Not something you can carry with you. If you have a scissor jack, maybe you can drive one tire up on a 2x4 wooden block. I did this before getting my low profile jack.

      @@BCTeslaGuy in garage it’s easy however on the side of road it’s a big problem. There are lightweight ramps you can buy… I’ve thought about it.

      @@BCTeslaGuy when you have a flat off road side there is about 4 inches total for jack and pad. It would be impossible unless you have a scissor jack with about 3” - 3 1/2” depth.

    I don't think you are supposed to use slime or a can of aerosol slime on Tesla tires because they have foam inside. Might unbalance the tire and would make it heavier. Worse than a non-foam tire. As a desperate last resort as in the Attack of the Killer Zombies movie.

      no tire, jack pads or jack. They offer tire repair services via the app.

    What if you have flat tire on the road at night. There is no way you can fix it without removing the tire. This is the main reason I am not buying an EV!!!
    Besides, I heard Tesla is not recommended to jack up the car yourself...

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  10 месяцев назад +1

      road service is included when you purchase a Tesla. Many new cars don't come with a spare tire now to save space. Never heard you can't jack a Tesla. They have videos on the proper way to jack a Tesla.
