This is my very favorite music machine in the House on the Rock. It has been since I was a kid. So I went online to see if I could find any videos of it, and I came across this well done video - which is even more cool because my husband and I, along with our best friends, were there on the same day you recorded this! We were celebrating my best friend's birthday, and my husband's and my 30th wedding anniversary! Thank you for posting this.
I went there with my wife, and she realized it was like one of the most terrifying things from her childhood, and she had to move to the next room. I, however, loved it.
Its a tiny bit out of tune, but they made me learn this music in high school and he certainly represented the entire piece.Really incredible.I wish I had grown up near this place.
I shot video of almost everything that could move, but as far as videos I bothered to edit and upload, there's the Gladiator Calliope: ruclips.net/video/ScdvcbTVeUE/видео.html
@@acejackalope I'm collecting archive material of some of the instruments from HOTR, do you have any video of: The "Franz Josef" - a machine with brass horns, presumably out of tune, any video of the "Pontalba Hearse" - a hearse with trumpets on top of it, or the Hupfeld, a machine with 3 violins? Also, was the "Lincoln Welte" - a pipe organ/orchestrion played by a pinned barrel on tour 3 also working?
You got to wonder what Neil Gaiman's initial reaction to this particular machine was when he first saw and heard it.

You're so welcome!
Still scares me as an adult. The bottom one looked me right in the eye, lowered his eyebrows, and shook his head.
Mina the Bina this is late but OMG HE DID THAT TO ME TOO!!!!!!!
same thing happened to me I was absolutely terrified
This room scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid and still messes me up. I've been to HotR dozens of times and it always gets me.

Best room in the house!
I've always loved how his eyebrows wiggle up and down. Thanks for posting!
Ahhh.................. Saw it in person!

Onece you go, I don't think you get it out of your system. I feel that beautifully creepy place calling to me.
@@acejackalope Yes.Now its the ONLY thing on my bucket list
Love that drummer automaton in the middle!
Looks creepy!! :)
Here with Shadow and Mr. Wednesday.
Its cool that the drums still work. Would be cool if some of the other instruments would work. A restoration would be very cool
