I like how competitive CS:GO has evolved from just shooting heads ingame, to also defeating your opponents mentally. Knowing what the opponents are planning and going to do is also key to winning games. Elma does a great job of showing us this in-depth.
Astralis caused that result. Before Astralis, cs go teams used to play like they are in the mm.Astralis is the first cs go team that came up with having plan to every kill, every nade ,holding positions....

Hey Elmapuddy, on the round that Hunter failed to plant. Was he reacting to electronic from ramp or was it s1mple opening the door? Saw some people argue that he couldn't plant because of electronic from ramp, and others saying he already got off the plant before electronic was a factor. Thoughts?
I haven't played CSGO in years but seeing this video showcasing the beautiful strategies employed by pros and other highlights of Cologne made me very nostalgic. Next weekend I'll fire up CSGO again to see how far in ranks I've fallen XD
But in-game leader is BoombI4. He is the actual brain in the team. S1mple is insane frager and its nice to see B1t keep track with others but more than anything this was a team effort and crisp coordination.
Video suggestion: How Astralis are being competitive without having a dedicated awper in the current meta (Granted IEM Cologne saw them only play 5 matches with 2 losses)? G2 also has had many deep runs since kicking KennyS but Amanek is not the star awper that the team plays around.
it's a great video, and NaVi were showing excellent performance, but after listening to a russian-speaking commentators, they said that basically NaVi besides showing these great rounds, were also doing a lot of mistakes tactically, throughout the match, but because of very high-skilled individual performance, were taking rounds they weren't supposed to. Would be very interesting to see if you caught that, and watch a video about it.
I love how at 5:10 elec saves the smoke to keep simple alive for longer while at 6:05 simple peeks an awper for elec to do the same. Comrades♥️. So cs really isn't just about that p90 rush eh?
@@trunggkien2361 yes it's possible, but the whole box can't be wall banged, only the left edge, there's a famous get-right clutch where he kills a guy in last second with AWP wall bang on box,you can see he aims for the edge
8:10 was this flash supposed to land like that i mean did nexa fail the flash or amanek and niko should've turned around earlier when the flash was popping so they can't get blind? I can't really understand at the exact moment where you should be most focused because its the last round and you are basicaly rushing mid in order to either tie the game or lose the map and nexa fails a flash like that which actually cost them the map..
I think it was just a timing thing, nexa was slow to leave spawn throwing a decoy on the floor to buy another nade which I think made his flash late so his teammates copped it
It is quite meaning less to analyze how s1mple play. The opponent knows what he is doing but still lose. 1:22 if I know my enemy don't have awp , I won't flash. 3:44 who can shoot back against an awp in that angle ? 11:25 I don't think he miss that smoke

Id like to give some feedback for future videos. I usually watch them while eating, so I have to look at my food from time to time. However, the way you explain plays make them quite hard to follow, if you arent looking on the screen in that moment. The main problems are words like "this" and "here". You mostly show the relevant scene and tell us that the player goes "here" or does "this" rotation. It would be super helpfull if you could use callouts more often. Something like "S1mple rotates through vents" instead of "through here". This would be unnoticable if you just watch the video with your full attention, but would make it a lot easier to follow if you cant look at the screen constantly.
He can be anywhere behind that smoke, or not behind the smoke at all and we see that he wasn't because was stood an angle away from it to use if he needs to fall back. We often forget that during a high pressure tournament like this, they're also focussing a lot of energy on the other 4 potential CTs and not just s1mple. Spamming him can force reloads even without a kill and then hyper aggressive plays from navi to punish the low ammo opponents. Booml4 also tried to make a play on short so they immediately turned attention to him as well to get the trade. They have no idea where electronic is, they know s1mple is tucked in Gandalf with nobody with an angle to kill him without being traded which is important because of the time to plant. That wallbang from s1mple was unpredictable af
Bit delusional about that awp kill onto amanek hardly a free kill at all S1mples instant and amanek was still very very close to winning They saw each other at the same time s1mple had slightly better crosshair placement by millimetres and managed to make it work but ive seen that foght go the other way plenty of times
