Loving Abbie's hair here! I love that her school has so many wonderful events through the year even more so that parents, and grandparents, are invited along too.
So sweet when Abbie gave the grandparents hugs right away. It looks like she had a lot of fun at the school. She looked happy even though she was having an "off" day. Soe times we all just get up in a funky mood and don't k how why. Hope she feels better tomorrow.
I love that Pricilla takes a photo of Abbie everyday. It’s not just a keepsake or a cute insta pic. It could potentially save her life! If something were to happen and she bolts they would be able to have an accurate photo description. Not trying to be morbid but real.
How are the classrooms divided up at Abbie's school? Is it done based on age/grade, do they group kids together based on what level they're on regardless of age, or is it based on something else?
I guess it would possibly depend on the kids they have in any particular school year, as well as policies etc. I've worked in special ed classes that are part of a wider mainstream school in Australia, and they all have flexibility based on what's going to work the best for those kids. Sometimes it's by year/grade, sometimes it's by ability, or by diagnosis. Other times, it's a strategic placement: e.g. putting male kids who need a positive role model in with the one male teacher you've got, buddying up friends/kids who work well together, grouping that maximises the way support teachers/aides can be used (e.g. if student A is allocated 50% of the time 1:1 and student B is also allocated 50% 1:1, 1 full time aide could be shared between them), and separating kids who don't work well together - or even separating a certain kid from a certain teacher if they aren't the right fit for each other (different learners and teacher styles). Even trying to maximise student spaces by sharing one full time spot between a few students who might be part time at school and part time at work things, mainstream schools, hospitals/programs etc. Basically, it's complicated and there's usually a lot of paperwork.
Hello my name is Geneva and I just want to stop by and tell you how inspiring your family is to me and my children I show my children who are 8 and 10 years old and to show them God makes everyone special and never treat anyone differently and your videos help explain that so thank you
I love watching you guys work through her behaviors it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come and how much you all have grown together as a family. I wish more than anything I had a family my mom passed away in October of 2018 and she was all I had I have no siblings and don’t really have contact with any other family. You’re a strong unit never lose that you guys
You guys are my favorite RUclipsrs. You guys help me and my family with my kids autism. You guys are a inspiration to me and my kids. we love watching you guys.
This is so sweet. I have a nephew who is autistic and he loves to be tickled. It is so hard to understand him but watching your videos give me a little bit of insight on how their brain actually works. 💕
Have you done a vlog about clothes? Does abby go shopping with you all? Or does you guys (or just Priscilla?) pick out all her clothes? Does she have favorites or not care at all? I know you can't really show her getting dressed but does she dress herself or need assistance? Like with zippers and buttons. Do you do any adaptive clothing? I have noticed a lot more adaptive clothing lines in ads and the news recently. Would love to know more about this! She always looks very stylish!
I am writing my Senior Portfolio for my elementary education degree, and I love how I can mention JSA as an alternate type of school. I would have never known about these other kinds of schools without your channel. Thanks for sharing.
Abbie did a great job showing you around. It was so cute to see her greet grandma. Her pigtails are so sweet and she looks so nice in her plaid shirt. Little model! Thanks for showing us what Abbie's up to in school!👌😊💖
Love how Abbie greeted her grandparents! 😊 What a great program JSA is. You could really see the dedication they have for their students! Oh my goodness those hugs are precious!
New to this channel!! I have watched y’all non stop for the past week 🙈 I loooove Priscilla, she has a heart of gold! I can only wish to be the woman and mother she is one day! Awesome family 💕
There's a great series of videos you should watch called 'things not to say' and it shows adults with all sorts of disabilities including autism, and how they see the world. It gave me great insight into my daughters mind, a constant rave and switching off some of the noise was the best explaination i've ever heard regarding the austistic mind.
4:59 *shudders* that noise you hear was several million British people tutting ;-) That cities thing looked super fun, great time for the kids and a brilliantly educational way to eat stuff...I am onboard with this!
Asa, your dad is such a cute lil “old” man!! I love when he’s in the vlogs! Lol. Abbie is precious and deserves to be the Phoenix princess! Loved seeing her and her classmates interact at school!
"What'll ya have, what'll ya have?" I'm from Atlanta & love that The Varsity was chosen as part of our history! Lol! They do have THE BEST fries! Their customer service is excellent...you can't help but love the people. That's such a fun thing to get the kids involved in! JSA is an incredible place, full of the most beautiful people! ❤️
That was a wonderful school event! I bet the students really did learn a lot. It was great that the grandparents were there to see it as well. Abbie seemed very pleased to see them. She was a bit moody but isn't that typical for a teenage girl. Isn't typical for all of us, no matter what age.
I watched the Louis Therous documentary last night on Autism in the USA and it made me so sad. I realised what incredible support Abbie had and how others don't. I know you fought so hard to get her in to this school. It was sort of heartbreaking to see the struggles of others.
I have those kinda days too Abbie. But looking gorgeous like that helps the day go by ;) I'm from Flagstaff AZ 2 hours from Phoenix. We are expecting heavy snow this week!
Hi nice to meet you. Im from Trinidad, I'm a new subbie.. and im totally loving your videos thus far. You have a very beautiful family and your daughter is gorgeous. Whenever she cries. I cry :( wish to meet you guys some day
Yeah except Asa is usually pulling the "dad" stuff and wanted to be the apple pie dad guy here! Love GPA's reasoning...just not enough to go around so don't bother offering.
Abby is very lucky to have a school like that available to her. We have nothing like that here in northern bc canada. It's either public with a aid or homeschooling for my daughter when she is old enough for school ( shes almost 4)
Love Abbie's pigtails!! Enjoyed seeing Abbie and the other students at her school!! Looks like they were having a good time!! As always thanks for sharing!!
My 7yr old boy who is on the spectrum, just started at a school for special needs and we have been a bit nervous but he seeems to be doing amazing only 4 days in 💕 WE LOVE ABBY💕
Hey you guys! Just wanted to say how impressed I am with Abby's school. I have never seen anything like it in our area and both of my nephews were special needs. This is something that the public schools should model their programs after. I know that they can't be as good as JSA with having to deal with budgets and so forth but they should be able to provide some better quality of services. Sorry about the rant but it's a subject that I've seen my sister having to fight with the school's to get even the smallest amount of changes to help the kids. But i also would like to say that Abbie was so cute today, even with the mood swings ;) I have 2 daughters so I know about those, lol! Your vlog makes my day I'm bedridden most of the time and just watching you guys always makes me smile and brightens my day ❤🌞
Makes me miss teaching in this type of setting. I recently moved to a job teaching 7/8th grade EBD students in a residential program . It’s very different.
Her smile gets to me every time. When she gets upset, I feel so bad as you want to do something and don’t know what to do to help. Shouldn’t watch late at night when there is food....LOL
Everyone has bad days...especially when the hormones are RAGING!! I remember being mad about life...and nothing in particular at times when I was Abbie’s age!!
Asa can you please turn the volume back up? Last couple videos I have to have my headphones on and both RUclips and my computer on max to remotely here.
@@joykittenlover9052 It only happens when people film videos on their phones typically. Yesterday's vlog I could hear clearly without headphones and even had to turn it down a bit.
Great video today guys! I absolutely love Abbies school! And poor Asa, first you missed out on the milkshake and then no apple pie… And all of this after you finally announced publicly that you will eat salad. I think someone owes you some desserts 🍨😂😘
Sorry if this has been asked, maybe I missed the vlog about it? Have you guys ever had issues with Abbies food variety? I know you've mentioned before she will pick a food and get stuck on it but has it ever been difficult to get her to try foods or get her to eat foods you know she likes?
I’m sorry for the 2nd comment, but gardening is my jam!! If I lived in Jacksonville, I would ABSOLUTELY, totally and utterly volunteer to help with the JSA garden-unfortunately I’m 1/2 way across the other side of the world!! I LOVE growing food-esp. heirloom varieties of veg/herbs!! I would need to double check post requirements, but if there are any particular varieties of heirloom veg/herb varieties JSA/you guys are interested in-I may have seeds that I could post to you!
Your dad, Asa, reminds me of my grandpa who unfortunately has severe dementia now. Isaiah and Abbie are lucky to have such amazing grandparents on both sides! Awesome art Abbie!!
Love Abs #ootd and love her little giggle! I've been super moody lately and I'm 32 so happens to the best of us! Commenting early but I'm sure the rest of the video is amazing.
As a fellow Princess of Phoenix, just wanted to say I love your channel! I'm currently a nursing student and I'm talking to my professor about using your videos for our lectures on autism
Loved Abbie's hair! So cute! Early! #NotificationSquad! 😊❤️️"I thought I'd offer it to you and then I thought, How stupid would that be." Lol. What have u done Asa? 😂
I was looking through your all store, and i would love to see a T-Shirt with Abby art work all over it, with her hand prints that say fathering Austism along with the puzzle pieces
Abbie looks so nice in that blouse & I love her hair that way...Also I live in Arizona. I heard the recording talking about the Grand Canyon!! High Five, Abbie!!!!
Hey family, hope everyone is blessed today. Abbie, you look super cute with those pig tails girl!!! Always love to see her happy!! Just love you guys so much.
Her little pigtails are the cutest things ever!!! Love that hairstyle!
Aren't they?! 😍
Now at 3.6k views 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I'm thinking, as soon as my hair is long enough again (almost there!) I'm going to do pigtails just because Abbie makes them look so good.
Her smile is so contagious, I just love seeing her smiles & when she is loving on Mom & dad extra long & showing her love for you guys, Azizah too..😘
