You've inspired me to overwinter my begonias! I've never dug up anything and overwintered, just let the strongest survive, but I'm working on using what I have in my garden and that means more dividing, and now it means winterizing, too! Thank you!
Hi Mary. You're very welcome, my friend! This comment makes me SO happy! 🥰 I'm glad to hear that you are reusing plants that you have by either dividing them or overwintering them. You will be so happy that you did come next year. Happy gardening! 🌸
I had NO idea that begonias grew from a bulb! I bought a ton of these flowers last spring and was wondering if I could overwinter them by taking cuttings. Now, I'll dig them up and use your method of overwintering the bulbs! I've already had much success with Cannas, Callas and Gladiola bulbs. So taking the bulbs from begonias that I already have, will save me a lot of money next spring. I'm so happy to have found you! I've subscribed and will be checking your other videos.
Hello friend. Thank you for subscribing to my channel! 🙏🏼🥰 Tuberous begonias form bulbs, but not other begonias like the wax begonias. Do you have the tuberous begonias? That's great that you've been able to overwinter your Cannas, Callas & Glads! Good luck friend and happy gardening! 🌸
@@budgetgardeningvita I have both tuberous and wax begonias. I guess I'll just take cuttings of the wax begonias and take out the bulbs of the tuberous
Thank you for another informative video about over wintering. I brought quite a few young transplants in this year. I'm so sick of spending a fortune on new plants or seeds in the spring...when all i have to do is work with what I already have. I really appreciate these videos.😊👏
Thanks, Steph. I completely agree with you. It can cost a fortune on buying seeds, plants, etc. Gardening can be fun but it doesn't have to be so expensive! 💲♥
Awesome!! I'll be trying to overwinter in zone 7b this year. Hope my garage doesn't get too cold. Have no idea what temps there are, but I do know that my basement is heated so that won't do... I'll throw some blankets on the box in the garage and pray 🙏🏻
I love your vids. I just found you and I love your knowledge and advices on gardening. You are someone who doesn't waste and I adore you for that. Why throwing away a perfectly healthy plant if it can be saved care for and make it produce next season. 😊Thanks for continuing educating us with your knowledge and experience and experiments. ❤
Hi there. Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I truly appreciate it. I love reusing and recycling things whenever possible, even plants. ☺️💕🌺
I bought Red White and Yellow begonias for myself, but my daughter saw them and took them home and they did beautifully. Now I'll see if I can keep them over the winter. They are in big pots, and I was thinking just to stop watering and let them in there, until spring and like you said surprise me!
Great idea about keeping the begonias in the pot and halting watering during the winter months. If you keep the pot in an area that's between 40-50 Fahrenheit, they should be fine. Good luck, friend! 😊🌸
I bought a gorgeous tuberous begonia this year and I am going to try to overwinter it. I never knew I could do this. Its only one plant but I will give it a try. Thank you for sharing this information so helpful:)
If the begonia is doing well like those yellow ones and you do bring it inside your home, can you keep it as a houseplant or will it need to go dormant and replanted in the spring? I can overwinter in my garage if not. I haven't ever grown calla lilies, but I have a granddaughter named Calla. Thanks.

I'm so glad you are going to try overwintering your tuberous begonia! I was so excited when my tender bulbs started sprouting this Spring! ♥
First time I purchased begonias. Would like to try this since they are gorgeous. I’m questioning what type of black crate you are using.

I'm definitely going to do this . Another great video girl !!🎉❤
Thanks so much! I love saving plants if I can for the next year. 🥰🌸
