I think if Jess is still up for it I don’t think that most people would mind keeping the podcast alive on her own (and/ or with other guests). Also i don’t think that it has to be a very regular thing. It can be a once in month or every other week thing (whenever there is something interesting to talk about or when you guys have people over). Just something worth thinking about!

It seems like Gabe is still trying to find himself.. He mentioned that he keeps starting projects and then stopping, which reminds me of my ex husband. My ex didn't know what he wanted and was constantly trying to do different things and we ended up getting a divorce because he was so obsessed with his own goals but was failing at everything he tried to do. It always seems like Gabe does all these spontaneous things and can't commit to one thing while Jess is trying to support him and their baby. I'm just hoping that Jess is still getting the help and love she needs from Gabe especially now that they're a family.
This is also a REALLY common symptom of ADHD. As someone who has it, I can attest to the “micro obsessions” and starting/stopping a million different things. Trust me, we annoy ourselves. It’s frustrating to always lose interest in things on repeat.

announcing that you were posting these videos because you had brand obligations is really a slap in the face to your supporters. Especially after Gabe has repeatedly say he doesn’t read comments. Shows an overall lack of appreciation for those that have afforded you the lifestyle you have. Hope that you learn to accept friendly criticism if you come back.
5 kids? Poor Jess. She is the one to get pregnant, and then also does the majority of the childcare, they even admitted that. How can Gabe want 5 kids knowing this?
he's a typical trad man. That's why. If hes expecting 5, he better bring in the millions of dollars plus babysitters, ocassional nanny's and housekeepers to flourish the mother raising 5 kids. He better buckle up his trad working boots.

They even have a video from a few years ago where they mention how she took care of them financially for a year and this was when they wete newly married. Like what the heck. Also a me me guy eho keeps chickening out of everything and doesn't really let Jess shine. He even made her labour story all about him and his book so ehh

My takeaway from the video is that Gabe much prefers projects that have a definite end point. Why not consider SO FAR, SO GOOD as a seasonal podcast (of, say, six episodes per season) where Gabe shares the progress he is making on his latest film project and both of you share how you are developing as a family through the process of making the film. Using the podcast in this way would be interesting and engaging as a stand-alone experience, but it would also be a brilliant way of promoting the final film + being a source of encouragement to Gabe to keep going with his film, even when the process becomes challenging 🎙
On what gabriel said about young adults around the table - remember they'll probably end up having partners, so 5 children with partners mean 10 children around the table! Even 2 or 3, plus partners, would be a full table. ❤

I think the Jess and Gabe channel should be on pause so Gabe can sort himself out, it’s clear he’s burnt out (obviously he’s been doing social media for over a decade), Jess can upload on her Channel (she’s definitely more confident, outspoken and bolder compared to her previous years and I’m so happy for her), they’re on different paths of life, which is TOTALLY okay, Jess’s path isn’t the same as Gabe’s path so no need to force anything. It feels like I’ve been “go go go” for the past few years, and seeing you guys stoping tasks and taking breaks was so encouraging to me! Like, the fact that you were so open with following the Lord and transitioning between projects helped me to do the same when I needed to. And I now don’t feel as guilty or shameful (before friends and family) for moving into what God has for me.

any husband's answer to how many kiddos should be 'however many my wife is comfortable with'. Pregnancy is beautiful but it is genuinely health and life threatening to women and takes a huge amount of recovery and it's not really fair of men to be so blasé about wanting a large amount of children :( It's not a coincidence that Jess is the one hesitant about having so many children. I only say this just in case you haven't really considered this xx Try and put it into this perspective: it's the equivalent of saying 'I want you to get in a car crash where you have to have body altering surgery and excruciating pain that will take months to recover from (if the best case scenario happens - otherwise you may have permanent issues), 5 times'. It's insane how casually we treat pregnancy!

Of course she will hopefully only have how many she feels comfortable with but she should be able to make that decision without the pressure from him. Even saying ‘I would personally love 5 children but I understand how hard it is for you and at the end of the day it’s completely up to you’ would be good rather than saying he wants 5 so casually because he wants to achieve HIS vision of a full table (as if his random vision of a full table that he likes is more important than her health-once again, please imagine someone casually saying ‘I want you to go through 5 car crashes with body altering consequences, excruciating pain and years of recovery, because i had a vision about the aftermath of them that I like-would be insane and inconsiderate because it is! it’s insane how casually men expect pregnancy) and trying to convince her. Also, it’s not actually true that women only have how many they feel comfortable with, they get pressured into having more than they’re comfortable with all the time at the risk of their mental health and sometimes lives. That’s exactly why it’s important for people like me to look out for them
That’s not the same at all. Your body is made for childbirth. It is not made for a car crash. Of course you can have complications but that’s the exception not the rule. I agree the woman should have final say though because we give up so much more and go through so many changes.
Women were designed to be able to give birth. It is not a medical condition that needs serious treatment. Being able to give birth is SUCH an empowering ability! Women are so strong, and so capable, and in this day and age, the dangers of giving birth is quite low. There are so many wonderful midwives, doulas, and birthing programs out there to train you to have a successful, beautiful birth. Also, I think husbands can desire a certain number of kids while still being understanding to his wife's comfort zone and capabilities. There are all things we want in life - it's okay to want them! ❤
@@elizabethdill3156 it is a medical condition that causes permanent harm or death to tens of thousands of women on a daily basis. You’re doing women a huge disservice by overlooking the dangers pregnancy poses. It’s ok for husbands to want children but as I said, instead of focusing on what he wants in a way that puts pressure on his clearly hesitant wife, he should phrase it much more considerately e.g id love to have 5 kids but no pressure it is completely up to you because I understand how hard it is on your health and body

I'm only half way through the video right now, but I just wanted to share that I think there is something about you guys cutting back on social media that makes you all the more relatable. I've always admired you both and have watched you guys since your first year of marriage, but something just switched in my heart while watching this video. I used to view you guys as distant people that I admired and have inspired me, but now it feels like I'm also watching you guys as friends. I wanted to share that because I'm sure as influencers who've been around for years, it could feel like you guys are 'leaving us behind' by cutting back on social media, but in reality it feels like we just got a little closer (in a totally non-creepy way hahah). Your desire for something new and to be more private and family focused shows us just how human you are. I loved hearing how Gabe is interested in real estate, because from my perspective it feels like most social media influencers try to make it look like you're only a real influencer if you only make money off your content, brand deals, merch, etc., and 'normal' jobs like being a real estate agent or working in the trades isn't 'cool'. I know there are so many people out there that aren't content creators who would say they would take being a social media influencer over any other job, but it's so amazing to see people who actually are content creator's choose different occupations and a quieter lifestyles. (Don't get me wrong, I know being a content creator is also such a huge blessing to have as a job too!). I'm not sure if I'm making any sense, but I love and support you guys and am so beyond happy you guys feel so fulfilled and relaxed in life right now, and have more free-time to soak this season up and especially raise sweet Makaiah! Don't ever feel like you guys ever owe us an explanation for the decisions you make (or owe us anything for that matter) - this is your story that God is writing out, and I hope you continue to bask in the delight of this season you're in. :)

It's such an interesting convo about how many kids to have...I'm mulling it over also. I think you're right to not focus on the toddler phase because you may just think one is enough😂 But I suffered neglect as a child which affected me heavily as an adult, and I never want my child to feel that way. I feel like once you stop having time available for one on one attention, that's when the child's growing up experience is impacted, which of course impacts the rest of their life. It's possible to be intentional about making that space, but it gets logistically harder the higher the number of kids. My family only had 3 kids, but my mom had chronic illness, so everyone's capacity is different for making that intentional time.
I enjoy watching you guys, for real. The only couple I continue to watch for the last 7/8 years. Love you guys so much❤

When Gabe mentions parenthood I definitely agree at first kids depend more on their mum especially daughters but dads are the more playful ones like Jess says. My two are 4&5 now and now they’re older they love their dad he’s the more playful parent where as I’m the one they want when they’re not well type thing or a cuddle they come to me more. It definitely changes as kids get older they lean on each parent for different aspects. It’s been since our daughter was two she’s gotten closer to her dad I think daughters take a little bit longer than sons to do that little switch to becoming closer to their dad and having that better bond but it’s something that comes over time. Parenthood it’s hard, but definitely can say Jess I wanted two but now they’re older I’m like hmm a third wouldn’t be too bad if it was to happen down the line! I think after two from watching other mums any more after two slots into your family as you’re already in a routine! Love you guys, glad too see you’re keeping better 🥰

He just doesn't seem very keen on figuring out what she wants or how to support her, it just feels like it's always about what he wants to prioritise or what he needs. OFC I'm not in the relationship so it's a very subjective observation.
