  • This Sunday, Christians around the world will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But while believers rejoice, skeptics scoff. They argue that bodily resurrection from the dead is a physical impossibility and the Gospel accounts of an empty tomb are little more than fairy tales.
Dr. David K. Bernard responds to critics by sharing logical reasons to believe that the Gospel writers were telling the truth when they gave witness to Jesus' resurrection.

GREAT clip, the Apostles were bold for 2 reasons, they a) Witnessed the Physical Resurrection of Jesus and b) Experienced their internal Spiritual Resurrection aka New Birth aka Filled with the Spirit aka Filled with the Fulness of the Godhead

I have heard some pastors say Jesus did not go to heaven that day but to hell between His death and resurrection. If this is true then why would he say to the thief "Today you shall be with Me in paradise"

Why is this even a question, should be left as a statement.

    • @KevinDay

Because people who aren't Christian don't think it actually happened... 🤔 In fact most *mock* the idea of the resurrection, and therefore we need to be able to defend it as a highly rational belief in order to remove some barriers to their salvation. Just saying it's not even a question is not helpful, it just pushes people further away.

Hello Saints, just have a question looking for an answer. Did Jesus also die for the old testament (from Adam and onwards) saints on the cross,?

Been watching the big Bart Ehrman vs. Mike Licona debate and Bart's primary argument is that it doesn't matter what evidence you provide, historians are "not allowed" to posit a violation of the laws of nature happened... I do not understand how atheists don't see this as a more closed-minded, religious belief than ours. Mike's argument posited several explanations for the minimal facts from various world views, leaving open the possibility or impossibility of miracles, and argued that the resurrection was the most reasonable explanation. Bart just says it's impossible and therefore it didn't actually happen.
Maybe Bart needs to do a 7-hour debate with a presuppositional apologist before arguing about history.

Belief in such is either accepted by faith or a revelation & not by convincing

@@REVNUMANEWBERN This is exactly what skeptics want you to think. The whole New Testament is *full* of language about defense, argument, signs, proof, witnesses, and testimony. Jesus proved who he was by signs and left us with an incredible wealth of information to defend our faith in him.

yes Acts 13:30 God raised jesus from the dead.
Matthew 28:5-6 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
    Matthew 27:57-66
57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Matthew 28:1-7 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
    Matthew 28:8-10
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

    Seriously?
You guys are really going to prop up a straw man skeptic who happens to believe in God?
A skeptic who happens to believe the Bible is the authoritative word of God?
So all you have to do is use the Bible to prove the resurrection. Actually, since you and the skeptic have decades of Bible study under your belts with dozens of memorized Bible verses, you don't even need a Bible in your hand.
I can see how that would be a challenge. 😁🤣😆😂😅😆
