Can make a video where you explain the process of how you choose a moissanite when designing a custom engagement ring? Do you prefer a specific brand, do your clients buy it and give it to you, etc? Thank you so much for your videos! They’re so informative and beautiful!
My moissanite ring cost about $600. Couldn't be happier! The thought of spending thousands on a ring always seemed ridiculous to me 🤷♀️ and I'm so glad there's a great alternative
YES! I love Moissanite. I personally love synthetic stones (that are done well) because you have the opportunity to get the best qualities of the stones without so many drawbacks, especially the ethical concerns. Pricing and quality for price is huge, like you mention, as well.
My brother and his fiancée went shopping for a ring. A jeweler told him a story about how most people can't tell the difference at first sight and even some jewelers have trouble. That sold him on it. His fiancée wanted a sizable stone and the moissanite made it all a lot less expensive and just as beautiful.
True. I've fooled jewellers in bright lights. It's when your in cosy, soft lights, you see it's more green blue light that bounces off. But in very bright lights, it looks like a diamond.
I just got a moissanite ring for Christmas just because I loved the unique "dutch marquise" cut and the teal blue/green color of the stone so much that my husband ordered it (he was pretty happy with the price of this one.) It's just as gorgeous as my lab grown diamond wedding ring! Even with it being a colored stone, it sparkles brilliantly! I'm so lucky to have been given one!
I have a few Moissanite rings. They are awesome - a much better price than a diamond, and they actually give off more sparkles than diamonds. Some - depending in the cut - have a ‘disco ball’ appearance. I have both a lab-grown diamond and moissanites. The diamond gives off more white sparkles and moissanites give off more rainbow colours.
I love Moissanite and can’t wait to have my wedding set made. Me and my husband had a Covid 19 wedding on 6-13-2020, after rescheduling or formal one, and I got a pink tourmaline center stone ring as it is his birthstone. I get to where a little piece of him everyday but my dream ring for our formal wedding that will take place 8-13-2022 will have a Moissanite center stone. Love the videos and can’t wait to see more!!!!
I love mine! Especially how the way it refracts light brings a more rainbow effect! Though I did have an odd experience... after hearing about moissanite from the jeweler we ended up getting the ring custom made from, we went to another just to double check our options. When we asked this one (a national chain) about using moissanite, they said “we don’t do that because it yellows if left in a hot car”. Like... why would I leave a ring worth so much money in a hot car? Like ever? They recommended white sapphire, which looked so dull compared to what we ended up with. So glad to have my moissanite ring!!!
I love the rainbow flashes I see in my moissanite ring. It's so entrancing to watch and I think it looks way more magical than the way diamonds sparkle. ♥️💍
Getting ready to make my first diamond piece using a .5 carat moissanite. I had no idea that it is more brilliant than real diamond, definitely will keep me coming back to this stone.
My engagement ring is moissanite! It’s sooooo sparkly & beautiful. Was also significantly cheaper than diamond. I also love that it originates from meteors! Highly underrated gem.
I have a moissanite engagement ring as well (and small diamonds on my wedding band), and it was a much cheaper alternative than a diamond ring. You can't tell the difference between the moissante and diamonds, and no one can tell either. It's so sparkly and I absolutely love it!!
Thank you for your down to earth, snob free, real expertise. I have several simple pieces of Moissanite my favorite being my 1.5ct solitaire pendant. I never take it off unless to clean. After 5 years it still looks brilliant and amazing. When or if I should get engaged I already have a 3ct cushion cut in mind that I have been in love with. And if the BF doesn't pop the ? I'll get it for myself 😁
My girlfriend told me about moissanite. She said when I pop the question get moissanite instead of a diamond because we can put all that razzle dazzle money that a diamond would cost into something for sensible that could benefit us as a couple. When she said that I fell in love even more. She's absolutely gorgeous and not too many women nowadays would say that. And to see this video really made me feel a lot better about it. My moissanite engagement ring is gorgeous!!! I asked my then boyfriend for mossanite because I LOVE how it sparkles! I love it more any diamond I have ever had!!! 💍
My beautiful moissanite ring fell into the lake at our cottage when I had an accent with the dock. I usually take it off to go swimming and I forgot to. I had it 7 years and it cost us very little at the time. No one had ever heard of it. But when the jeweler showed us the papers of authentication and we saw that it was basically star dust, we were sold. It was just under $700 CAD at the time for 1CT, simple round cut. Now, jewelers near us and even online are asking $1,500 or more. Even the place we bought it from, who still had us on record, quoted us $2,000 CAD due to popularity. So almost 3 years later and I'm sill engagement ring-less because the price sky rocketed. Our 10 year wedding anniversary is August 2022 and I'm trying to find a reasonable place that sell this stone. Either way, BEST STONE EVER!
If clarity, weight, cut and size are the same, you'll get brilliance from a sapphire but you will get more refraction (colours in the flash) from a moissanite. You can buy both synthesized sapphires and moissanites but only naturally-formed jewellery grade sapphires. There are other gems that give you more "fire" than a moissanite but either they are not suitable for every day wear or should never be set into a ring.
My bf just proposed to me on Christmas and got me the ring i really wanted and it was moissanite radiant cut, super stunning!! I divorcedy ex-husband about 7years ago and he got me a diamond ring but it wasnt as shiny as i wanted the to be, also because it was a cheaper option. Im so glad i get to research a better alternative on rings because i know for a fact that my partner doesnt have to suffer to buy me an expensive 3carat diamond, instead got me a reasonable price of 3carat size ring! Now we are engaged and saving our money to get a house!!
Love mossanite, brilliant stone. Always ask for the certificate of authenticity and check the laser etching. Anyway it was De Beers diamond advertising idea, to make it a girls best friend . Hence the reason they loaned out big diamonds out to film stars, and again make most film scripts with engagements, with a diamond playing as a star role. Brilliant advertising. Check out the film “ Breakfast at Tiffany’s “ I expect there will be De Beers name somewhere in the credits
Love sapphires! IMO they are neck and neck with moissanite, however white sapphires tend to cloud up when dirty so moissanite gets the nod from me if you want a white stone. Blue sapphire however is such a beautiful stone in its own right!
I don't think there's any other reason than it's cheaper. I'd say go with a sapphire as sapphire comes in all colors of the rainbow and its price depending on its rarity can rival a diamond easily. And it's utterly beautiful.
I’ve been married for 2 years now and I’ve never known about moissanite’s, until recently. My dear husband did gift me a lovely diamond ring, but if I had known about this, I might have considered it ☺️
My favorite lab grown stone is Verneuil ruby. They're so clean and red and can be found in ridiculous sizes. Fancy colored Moissanite is growing on me, tho.
Listen, I appreciate your philosophy. I've also read the many wonderful testimonies below. However, I don't draw comparisons: Yes, I own many beautiful moissanite rings, as well as old world diamonds, and lab grown diamonds. (I'm addicted to sparkle/shine). Oh, and a great source of antique diamond jewellery is pawn shops. They are reduced in price, can be sized, and I feel like I'm wearing history. Many relatives inherit estate jewellery but have no idea of their true worth. Alright, enough babble from me. The other day I saw a combination ring: a large moissanite round centre, flanked by lab grown accent stones down the sides. I think I may have to purchase one. So many options these days!
Merci beaucoup...vous m'avez convaincue...l'argument free-conflict l'emporte sur toute autre critère..moissanite pour mes prochaine bagues!! Merci à vous pour le partage de connaissances !
I'd love to see a video about any reasons why one would choose a lab grown diamond over a moissanite. Is it just the reputation of diamonds/ years of marketing? Or are there are some legitimate benefits to diamonds?
Dont focus too much on resale value. Resale value of most mined diamonds are very little to none unless its a huge one. The only resale value you should be worried about when purchasing jewelry is the weight and karat of gold.
Hi! I've now found your 'Vidz'! Yay! I just sold my 1.5 carat triple x diamond and am replacing it with a moissanite. I could not tell the difference between my natural diamond (excellent cut, vvs2 clarity and F color)next to the forever one colorless moissanite and I examined both under various lighting.I’m no jeweler but I’ve owned my fair share of diamonds and I don’t know about lower or average quality diamonds but high quality diamonds look identical to colorless forever one moissanite. I was fortunate to have not lost any money on selling the diamond in part because we bought it at a great price! My husband wasn’t keen on me selling it at first because he thought I would regret it and he also had drank the “diamonds are forever” koolaid....but I feel a huge weight lifted off me. I love sparkly jewelry but there are other things I’d prefer to spend my money on. Every expensive purchase comes at an opportunity cost unless you’re a billionaire. I will never purchase a large diamond again.
I recently got my first two Moissanites... they are so much more beautiful than my real diamonds that I am going to sell all my diamonds... I mean think about it... How much more jewelry can I get for selling just one of my largest diamonds?... it is mind-blowing the difference in price...
The best thing about it is that it’s not a blood diamond. The problem for me is that looks like zircon, it’s so bright that it looks cheap. This is obviously a nice choice for some but not really that much cheaper where I live so most people will just choose whatever design is pretty anyway. Maybe because although I guess a custom jewellery maker might get you one, I only know of one company that specialises in selling them. Mine is Sapphire, nothing to do with cost, but because it’s an antique and that’s what was popular at the time it was made. Just chose the one I liked.
I have. EOC moissanite ring. It’s sparkles and very beautiful, but it doesn’t compares to my diamond even though it looks very nice and somewhat similar, but after wearing it awhile, you’ll start noticing the difference between the 2 gem. There are lab diamonds out there, so if a person can afford it or wants to be ethically and environmentally friendly, a lab diamond is a great choice. Nevertheless, moissanite is the best diamond alternative, but you have to get them from the right vendor or they’ll end up looking like a discoball. I would recommend going through Distinctive Gem. You can find him on RUclips and he has a website too. His moissanites are beautiful and it does make me want to buy all the existing shape out there since they’re relatively cheap even comparing to a lab diamond.
Visit Charles and Colvard, they have a long history with the moissanite stones. They have moissanite stones in (DEF) colorless and (GHI) near colorless.
What is the difference between 1 carat moissanite for 1000 dollars and a ring from etsy that is also 1 carat moissanite for 300 dollars? Both are 14 carat yellow gold. Thank you

I’ve also asked my bf to go with a moissanite rather than a diamond (unless his family has an heirloom stone) for me as moissanites throw rainbow fire rather than white fire and RAINBOW SPARKLES are so me 😅💗✨
Can make a video where you explain the process of how you choose a moissanite when designing a custom engagement ring? Do you prefer a specific brand, do your clients buy it and give it to you, etc? Thank you so much for your videos! They’re so informative and beautiful!
You got a like just off of a MOISSA RIGHT comment. Like your personality
literally same, i laughed out loud and hit like
Same, I liked immediately after that 😂😂😂😂
My moissanite ring cost about $600.
But cheap and a fake diamond
@@jlo1423 and ethical
@@jlo1423 you must have an investment in diamonds, I agree cubic zirconia is fake and looks it but certainly not moissanite.
True. I've fooled jewellers in bright lights. It's when your in cosy, soft lights, you see it's more green blue light that bounces off. But in very bright lights, it looks like a diamond.
@@jlo1423 it's not fake. It's a gem in it's own right. Cubic zirconia is acting at fake diamond, because it's not a gem. It's glass
the DRAMA this stone caused in selling subset
OMG. roman and mary. i love my moissanite ring. everyone is entitled to their opinions but I assume Christine probably isn't educated on moissys~!
Oh yeah! Lol
@@dimsumgirl510 Christine just starts stuff to start it lol
That's how i even found out this existed!!!!
may I have a guide to this drama please? I like the dish.
I'm so lucky to have been given one!
you are a hidden ~gem~ on youtube and i'm so glad the algorithm sent me to you
I have a few Moissanite rings.
Your new wedding date is my birthday!!
I would absolutely love a 1.5 Ca "crushed ice", "princess" 90° turned moissanite with 3 little accompanied stones on each side 😍
I can easily tell - the sparkle and clarity is a dead giveaway to my eye.
Yes everyone can tell the difference lol
@@anniemaymcneely2013 Not everyone ... I've had jewellers not notice multiple times.
@@anniemaymcneely2013 no they can’t
Thank you for your down to earth, snob free, real expertise. I have several simple pieces of Moissanite my favorite being my 1.5ct solitaire pendant. I never take it off unless to clean. After 5 years it still looks brilliant and amazing. When or if I should get engaged I already have a 3ct cushion cut in mind that I have been in love with. And if the BF doesn't pop the ? I'll get it for myself 😁
I absolutely love my moissanite ring. Yeah, diamonds are pretty, but the cost is insane. Biggest racket in the world.
Not to mention they're 100% conflict free 🥰 and way better for the environment!
Just bought a moissanite! Totally amazed by the sparkle and fire! Gorgeous ring
I'm eyeing a 2 carat one set in platinum that's right under 3k
Yes!! I got a 3.5 carat moissanite and we can afford a large down payment on our first home! So exciting!
Can you do a comparison video between Moissanite and Morganite?
Umm. Totally totally different.
Strontium Titanate also has insane fire to it.
It's very soft though, like glass basically.
@@Mobin92 yeah it's only a 5 on Moh's scale. You definitely wouldn't want to wear it everyday.
Just got a 10 carat moissanite ring and I am absolutely in love. Thank you for making such informative helpful videos and educating the public! Love your channel!
Dang that’s huge
I love my moissanite! My fiancé got me a 1.5 oval solitaire for under $500 and was appraised well over that! When I saw a moissanite next to a diamond in person I knew I wanted all of that brilliance
1,5 carat is a decent size engagement ring 🙂
My Moissy Bridal set is absolutely stunning!! I have several diamond rings but they are dull in comparison. And not to mention the horrible things done to dig them up. Why would anyone want a diamond over a Moissanite is beyond me! Mine has so much depth and brilliance!! Just gorgeous! Never touching a diamond again!
My moissanite is a unique Portuguese cut and it’s absolutely stunning. ❤❤
You are absolutely 110%.... CORRECT!..... Very good points made!!!It's about the " intrinsic value" or " sentimental value!"... More bling on the ring!!!!
I would LOVE to see a video where you explain Druzy. I looooove those and would love to hear from a craftsman your professional opinion about this as far as sources, quality/value and workability. Please add this to your SUPER SHORT To Do list, thanks! No, seriously would love to see if/when you have time!
Great video! I would love to see a similar video about sapphires or even about the different types of settings, metals, etc. It's overwhelming to try to find the "right" ring/materials but your video lays out the facts in a fun and entertaining way. Thanks for making!
I love my blue Moissanite ring. It's absolutely perfect.
I just ordered a Moissanite ring this morning. Can’t wait to wear it.
Rose cut is my favourite too! I'd love to see more of it.
I would love to see you do a comparison of clear sapphires and moissanite!
Thanks 🙏 Man You just taught me a lot about Moissanite.
Absolutely love my pear crushed ice Moissanite! It’s set in halo of Moissanites on a simple thin platinum band
You just made my mind up on what type of engagement ring I want! Thank you!!!!!!
Have you ever worked with sapphires? It is my favorite type of stone!
Love sapphires! IMO they are neck and neck with moissanite, however white sapphires tend to cloud up when dirty so moissanite gets the nod from me if you want a white stone. Blue sapphire however is such a beautiful stone in its own right!
Love my moissanite it’s Gorgeous! I have a few diamonds but none so Lovely as my Moissy!
Wish I knew about this 2 years ago! Maybe I'll upgrade my natural diamond to a moissanite soon!
I have several and they are just as good looking as mst diamnds and better than most commercial quality that is around
I don't think there's any other reason than it's cheaper. I'd say go with a sapphire as sapphire comes in all colors of the rainbow and its price depending on its rarity can rival a diamond easily. And it's utterly beautiful.
Sapphires tho
(Then again i am a sucker for pretty colours)
You can get those lab-grown, too, and get other lab-grown stones in different colors to resemble other stones =)
moissanites can be bought in colors too.
OMG I LOVE YOU! RIGHT TO THE POINT, NO BS! SIMPLE, HONEST, DEADLY!!!
I love the information you give out, plus your awesome personality!
I’ve been married for 2 years now and I’ve never known about moissanite’s, until recently. My dear husband did gift me a lovely diamond ring, but if I had known about this, I might have considered it ☺️
Portuguese cut is beautiful as well!
1:04 it’s important to note this isn’t a linear hardness scale!
My favorite lab grown stone is Verneuil ruby. They're so clean and red and can be found in ridiculous sizes. Fancy colored Moissanite is growing on me, tho.
This is all new to me and I love it.❤❤
I love that its so brilliant, it outshines diamond IMO.
Great job, my kids can afford diamonds, but like you said money should be used for the bigger plan👏👏👏👏
I just found your channel and I love your style and take on fine jewelry.
Shhhh don't tell everyone about the good pawn shop finds!! hahaha
Could you please make a video on the Portuguese cut, it is very interesting but can't find a very good information about it.
I have a couple pairs of 4 carat moissanite earrings and they're great. They really are more brilliant than a diamond
yes i was curious about cloudiness. thanks!
Just discovered you. You have nice energy.
I have a question for you, what is the resale value on the moissanite diamond?
It’s not called a “moissanite diamond”, just “moissanite” just to let you know! Im a jeweler, and as far as resell value, there really isn’t any!
Dont focus too much on resale value. Resale value of most mined diamonds are very little to none unless its a huge one. The only resale value you should be worried about when purchasing jewelry is the weight and karat of gold.
@@Landstalker1999 You are being truthful.
How do I know I am buying a real moissanite and not just a cubic zirconia? Looking at some from India online and they Look beautiful
Buy from Charles and Colvard!!
Thanks for this great review! Very informative!
No problem! Glad you enjoyed
This is such a great video, thank you! Informative and engaging :)
Just found you on YT, you are the bomb! Keep it up, love this content!!!!
Yes i have this ring it's AMAZING! 3 karat for $900.
Hi! I've now found your 'Vidz'! Yay! Thank you for the snippets of excellent info'!😉
I'm not into Diamonds at all:~Altho' I have detested Lab Gems for Years; I have come to the conclusion that I can appreciate the ethical approach, for all Gems&Minerals & practise resourcing origin of Mines, where I can.
My preference is Rock Crystal/Optic Quartz & I have a huge Rainbow Moonstone Cabachon {from Years back}.
Soz! I digress! Thanx again🤗 Rosie 🦓
Just found your channel not too long ago. Really appreciate your knowledge. Would you make a video about ruby engagement ring?
Great Informative Video!!
Beautiful, well done.
I love rose cut! I find it resembles my real love which is old mine cut.
I recently got my first two Moissanites... they are so much more beautiful than my real diamonds that I am going to sell all my diamonds... I mean think about it... How much more jewelry can I get for selling just one of my largest diamonds?... it is mind-blowing the difference in price...
Thank you Jordan, it was informative :)
Thanks. Kindly mention if there are different techniques for making moissanite, with their comparative analysis.
You forgot to say it passes diamond tester lol. Anyway do you sell tennis chains? How much?
I absolutely love. Moussanite. Stunning. 💗💞💛
@@ladyanne8139 you own some ?
The best thing about it is that it’s not a blood diamond. The problem for me is that looks like zircon, it’s so bright that it looks cheap. This is obviously a nice choice for some but not really that much cheaper where I live so most people will just choose whatever design is pretty anyway. Maybe because although I guess a custom jewellery maker might get you one, I only know of one company that specialises in selling them. Mine is Sapphire, nothing to do with cost, but because it’s an antique and that’s what was popular at the time it was made. Just chose the one I liked.
I’ve been told that it can discolor after about 10 years, or so... is this correct?
Nope. Not anymore! Moissanite is next level now! Gorgeous. Puts diamonds to shame if we’re being honest.
Thank you
