If you mean ignition coil then no, but a longer coil wire with it upright is less likely to come loose, however, this is how it was from the factory I never had any issues with that.
I am doing the same headliner replacement; how many "bows" are underneath between the headliner and roof panel? Mine has no headliner and no bows. I found a bundle of spares, but I'm not sure how many are supposed to be in there. Is it just one down the center?
Thank you soooo much!
You bet!
I have a 51 3600 5 window same color
thanks for posting. i also own and am building a 1951 chevy. i just ordered a white wolf abs 2 pc headliner.
Does it matter if your coil is mounted upside down?

@@LanceNeves My ‘51 International has it upside down too, but I purchased a Fire Ball coil and plan on turning it right side up.
My truck is missing the center bracket. Do you know where I can buy a new one? It didn't come with the headliner I purchased.
Even with electric wires they don't work well. Rain x!

Just one down the center.
Just about to this. Thanks for the heads up!
Is the center brace screwed on the side behind the rubber seal
It is not the rubber seal (on body door seal) holds the metal in place and covers the edge of the headliner
Ok mine is a 1953 and has a hole there so I just was asking thanks
