I'm also interested in Black Leopard, Red Wolf, but I'm waiting until the trilogy is published to read them all in a row. I'm a big fan of A Brief History of Seven Killings. If you do read that too I hope you like it! They're probably very different.
Can't wait to see what you think about some of these. Especially Foundryside, All's Well and Lady Macbeth! 🍀 I have these on my tbr too. 🫠And happy new year! 🎉
Thirteenth Child is a standalone! No need to reread anything, although her third Sisters of Salt book is coming out in 2026. Excited to hear your thoughts re: All’s Well. And Lady Macbeth … 😬 … excited for the rant review lol! I didn’t like Anxious People, but a lot of other people do.
I think foundryside is pretty good, but it’s pretty much the most hard rule magic system you can get which makes me think you’ll find tons of flaws and eviscerate it lol. The characters are a lot better than boneshard daughter at least… And if you liked Malibu rising, you’ll most likely enjoy Carrie Soto. I think it’s a better book but daisy jones is my favorite of that ‘quartet’. She also has a new book coming out this year.
The Thirteenth Child is a standalone. And I hated it 😅In fact, I don't know anyone who liked it But given how opposite our tastes tend to be, maybe that means you'll love it (note: the beginning is beloved, but it's after the setting changes and the true plot kicks in that it becomes a garbled mess that's only barely redeemed by a fantastic start)
Ohhh…I don’t think you’re going to like the thirteenth child- it is a standalone. The start of the book is really good and I was thinking that it was going to be a 5 star but then it really devolved and became a really convoluted and annoying plot. It was like she lost the plot and it didn’t really match with the beginning and by the end I was so annoyed. 🙃😳
OMG XD i'm sorry if you don't! not that i can confidently say you will or you wont. i don't know. i liked it enough, but i know you have stricter rules when it comes to books. I'm more forgiving when it comes to things that inspire art from me.
Oh yes Lady Macbeth was a big disappointment. The vibes were not vibeing, the plot holes and a female protagonist does not a feminist retelling make. I was skimming by the end and I usually don’t do that. Finished it only because it isn’t long and I was hoping it would redeem itself… it didn not. 😔
Two stack collapses in the first minute? Dang, best cinematic opening since 'Casino Royale.'
Foundryside is so going to get the bone shard daughter treatment 😂 that’s my prediction
I agree. And I'll also agree wut the criticism.
Oh boy 🥲

I’m kinda nervous about all three tbh 😅
@LienesLibrary Same. 🤣 I'm hoping for a positive surprise.
One of my favourite Stephen King books is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, it was just a quick read and it’s one I often think about
That’s been on my list for a while

Me? Rant? Very unusual

Me? Eviscerate a magic system? Couldn’t be…
Excellent plans. 😂

Oh yeah, Disquite Gods! If Demon in White is still your favorite, I think Disquite Gods could overthrow it.

Oh dear 😆
The Lost Queen prediction: you ain't gonna like it. It's very forgettable.
Off to a great start 😂

At least I can enjoy the art on the dust jackets 😅

So you’re saying the 2025 vlog will not be rant free 🥲
@ It’s very likely it’ll be entertaining for us 🙈
