It's so interesting to me that your chickens don't like the feed your talking about. Everything we have gotten from them has been high quality and our chickens dominate it. I absolutely love that you are sharing the behind the scenes of stuff like this. I have gotten so many offers for random products and I've only chose the things we actually would use or need for the homestead. You guys do a great job!

I was the lucky recipient of the roll away nesting box. It is the most amazing thing I have ever won in my life. We haven't been able to use it yet because we will be incorporating it in our new coop that we build in the spring but I appreciate the company sending it to me even tho I live in Canada. They certainly took a loss sending it that far and I hope you and they know it was very much appreciated. Can't wait till it is installed in the new coop and I can take some pictures for them.

It is wonderful for a "RUclipsr" who has his audience in mind. I cannot raise chickens because of where I live, but I love growing what vegetables I can. So, it really is good to hear if you recommend something, it is because you believe in it. I just stumbled across your channel and because of this video, am now a subscriber. So, thank you, for being real. And, scratch a chicken on the head for me (cause I can't do it myself. LOL)

I appreciate your honesty and openness about everything. Just because you share something doesn’t force me to buy it or have it. What it does do is give me options I may not have had or known I could have. Ultimately you are not responsible for decisions we make. You are sharing your journey and all that goes with it and as a result there will be highs and lows. I appreciate yearning about your journey and have never felt misled or lied to.

We have the Chickozy door and love it. It works pretty well. The only time it failed was when it got around or below zero. I don’t think there’s any door that wouldn’t be sluggish in those temps. I looked at that hemp bedding and Yikes, it is pricey, even with a discount. I’m sure it’s great, but my husband would have a fit and I want to stay married! 😉

Integrity or lack of always reveals itself. Your subscribers know you are genuine and care about doing the right thing. Represent quality products that bless you and will bless us. I love learning about something useful or helpful in the garden - like my Falco snips. Also organic fertilizers and seeds, I learned about from a trusted You Tuber. Done right, representing products can bless others. You will figure out what works for you.

I actually bought the automatic door from watching your video. The first one we got had factory defect and I sent them a video showing how it would not close all the way and they sent us a new one. Good company to work with and I love the door.

I haven’t put mine in yet. But I got some boots from his ads that I love so I went for the door too. I was going to buy a door anyway but I had been researching for hours and hours about the best one and whether the cheap ones actually work and so forth. I literally got exhausted, and would not get anything. so when he showed me how easy that door was, I just pulled the trigger on it. I can’t wait to finally get some time to install it.

I really appreciate your honesty on this! Another RUclipsr that I follow looking at being frugal recently said that they were going to accept every sponsorship they were offered for the money. So even if it’s not good quality they will give it a plug, which really goes against the ethos they promote and have completely turned me off watching them. Stay true to yourself and you will gain more followers than being fake.😊

I use Kalmbach Non GMO and I have a feeling you might be referring to this brand. Not every brand is going to be for every chicken and that's fine. When we first got our chickens they were malnourished and living off cheap chain store feed, and the people we rescued them from had no water in their waterer, you could just tell they weren't in the best condition. I switched them to the Kalmbach and they've been doing really well.

My chickens are much happier by watching his videos that’s for sure. I was just kind of “winging it” pun intended. But several times he pointed out things I was doing wrong and I course corrected and now they are giving me a lot of eggs this winter.. I haven’t seen a slowdown whatsoever. I didn’t add lights. I just cut back some tree branches to make sure they had more natural light and I’m leaving their big coop door open during the day. I definitely got the rollaway separate plastic nests that install with four little screws because of his videos. Now they’re finally beginning to train to go in the nest. My chickens are very young, so they’re learning. But none of that would’ve been happening if I hadn’t watched his videos. Not to mention, I think it’s cool that his wife’s name is Chelsea and my name is Chelsea… so that means he has good taste. 😂 but seriously, though I watch his videos because they help me on what to do and what not to do. I’m thinking of getting goats as well, and to be honest, the whole goat thing ticked me off because they are babies and he didn’t put heat out there. But it’s his decision and it’s his livestock and he’s going to learn. I can’t throw stones in my glass house where I’ve accidentally killed nine chickens because of two German shepherds, all because I didn’t get the reinforcement stuff for my fence. But that’s why I watch him because he’s honest and he shows everything and so far the improvements to my homestead have been well worth my time spent watching.

You navigated the subject well. We have a small channel and have been getting random free product offers and such. We’ve turned them down, but have been reaching out to brands that we do like. It seems a lot of brands out there aren’t familiar working with content creators so it’s been a lot of education. Hopefully something will pan out but just wanted to say great job and appreciate you sharing how you guys deal with and approach companies wanting you to market their products. Much appreciated! 🙏

It's definitely a weird thing to navigate, that's for sure! My two biggest companies I work with I actually bought the product on my own dime first, loved it, and contacted them for a partnership. Those are the types of deals I like to make!

I did a temporary switch to the Kalmbach feed, simply becuase the feed I normally feed my chickens was out of stock. And my chickens didnt want to eat it! I feel like they ate just enough to stay alive. Luckily I was able to get my regualr feed after just 2 weeks. I also noticed a dr in egg production during those 2 weeks they were eating the Kalmbach feed.....I wasnt happy.

I'm in Canada so I wanted to supplement my chickens feed with something higher in calories. When I introduced corn they snubbed their noses at their grain. But, when I introduced sunflower seeds they snubbed their noses at the corn.
When I clean the straw out of our chicken coop the chicks go absolutely crazy for the grain that spills on the ground which has been sitting inside for weeks. I will never understand chickens

Complications from being too cold are more than just freezing to death. Day, after day of that same stress can lead to death without being frozen to death. But we all make mistakes. What’s important is that you correct them. You seem to do that so I’m a fan. Good luck on the does.
