Most of the talent come from poor families and get overlooked every time that is why our country is super slow at progressing the youth program. Not every family can take off work for the week and take there son to Las Vegas for a tournament where scouts actually show up.
It’s not about talent poor/middle of the road/rich. It’s about seizing every opportunity that presents itself and also making opportunities with hard work and dedication.
Best video of the year. Really liked the breakdown of the requirements for players and the analysis. Thanks Javi. No exaggeration but This was literally what I needed to elevate my game
I liked this video. It helped me understand how I need to act and play when I’m on the field and it gave me a good understanding of what scouts look for
I play Central Attacking Mid. On February 3, I was scouted to play for a top division high school team in North Carolina on a full ride scholarship. I hope this will take me somewhere in college but who knows. The lesson is: When you play, you’ll never know who is watching but someone always is watching.
I just found this video and this is going to help me continue to improve my game. Thank you for making this to help us understand what coaches look for
I really enjoyed this video. As a coach, it's great to hear what others are looking for in my players. I can turn around and share the link to this directly when I feel my coaching isn't getting through on the items outside of technique, shooting and passing (communication, attitude and effort, etc). I look forward to seeing more of these for myself too, as I like the analysis of non-professional matches.
This is great information not many people understand how Important it is to listen to a coach giving advice to make a player more aware, or even smarter on the field!!
What do you think is most important: club soccer or high school soccer when you are scouting? I suppose both should be equally important, however there are some small clubs that have good players, but the players are not been seeing or the other way around.
Vinotinto Real I completely feel you! like the big clubs where you have to pay 2,000 dollars are getting looked at but the small clubs are never . And the majority of the time the small Clubs have way better players
I’m a year late, but club soccer all day every day. Use high school to get footage for highlights. Club soccer is MUCH better. MOST scouts don’t even go to high school matches.
Thank you so much for this! I'm entering my sophomore year of high school and have played soccer one year when I was 4 for a neighboring city and since 7th grade for my school. I'm a defense but I'm one of those players who has an extremely hard kick so I just clear the ball all the way up the field to my forwards any time I get it. I'll definitely change that now and use the space I have to dribble the ball and pass it when I can. It's my dream, like most athletes to play for a college and these videos are definitely helping me improve my game.
I wish my high school soccer coach would’ve shown us this video and not watch full because most guys did quite get the memo... good video!!!🔥🔥🔥 will definitely recommend to my old coach from 15’ lol
After watching this video it gave me an idea of more what to do and what not to do in my next games and practices, thanks coach Javi! This really helped a lot hopefully one day I can be in the big leagues
This video rlly helped me learn more about what I should be doing as a midfielder, and I will definitely be taking these tips into the next practice and game I have! Thank you!
Incredibly helpful! I played 2 years at a community college level but I eventually would like to play at my transfer school which is d2, I play outside back and it would be even more helpful if you can talk to me or even make a video on what abilities you would look for in an ob! Thanks, Cristian.
Great insight about scouting process, I believe the video is very very helpful for young players to understand what they need to improve at. Thanks a lot
This is a really good video. I'd like to become a pro soccer player one day and all the stuff you said about what coaches think as they analyze a player helped out a lot. That way now that I know somewhat what coaches think I can improve game to another level, and make myself into a better team player in and out the pitch.
I am a striker from Belgium and i am currently going on tuesday to a try-out in Germany because i got scouted by Aachen and the youth plays in Bundesliga so i am hyped about that!
thank you for this video it really helped me understand more 1st hand thoughts and wants on what we as players need to work on and show, so thank you again it really helped.
1- technique 2-vision 3-personality You got your your goals wrong. Lets take the example iniesta. He is the most important player in the field, he is the one to deliver the pass to open the field or make and agressive play. But he does all that by technique-routine (pass, ball control) he knows where everyone is going to be he just needs to deliver the ball (TECHNIQUE). Vision, there are sometimes he suprises his own teammates with his pass thats why he is the most important, but he can only deliver those passes by technique. You just need to find people that have the ball skill, the vision and "personality" is going to be teached.
Great video! Thank you⚽️🤙🏼 If anything you could've gone more in depth on the three things coaches/scouts look for🤙🏼 But other than that great video⚽️🤙🏼!
Solid analysis and definitely helps a lot but what extra advice would you give for a goalkeeper? What do D1 coaches look for in keepers compared to field players?
Chris Wraback in my experience, we look for confidence and communication mostly. A goalkeeper should be the loudest on the field always directing the play in front of them. They must make smart decisions when coming out or staying in goal and be able to stick with those decisions. A goalkeeper should not second guess their decisions. Also, making sure they do well when called upon. If the team is dominating possession and there are only a few situations in which they are needed, they must come up big and make the saves. Great question!
I play center D. I did corner kicks and goal kicks. This was my first year, and I was named a captain. Do you think you could just do a video about the center defense position and the defense line ?
Hello Coach. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. My daughter is a goal keeper. She's currently playing club and HS soccer. Can you translate how what you are saying will apply to GK's and if they do not, will you comment on that? BTW- these are simply good coaching tips.
Hey Javi, I just wanted to ask about scouting and becoming a scout. Im really passionate about scouting players and analysing talent in this beutiful game but Im not sure where to start, any help or advice about becoming a scout would be really helpful 🙂
I’m thirteen and i really want to play college soccer but I don’t know if people can start recruiting at my age?? But I do know I made a video of my highlights so people can see
what college do you coach for? also in one of the scenarios you said don't clear the ball out of the back if you have time. it makes sense but for my high school team we aren't very skilled many are either first or second year players besides a couple of players like me, my brother and 3 others. I think playing out of the back is great but what if your team mates aren't skilled enough to do that? Also what should I do if I'm out in a position I shouldn't be in. Last year I was put at centre back and I'm only 5 8" 140lbs I'm also quiet slow so I can't run down players. I normally play outside mid or centre mid but centre back I couldn't understand why. I figured it may be because I was one of the more experienced players on the team. btw we only one 2 games of our 20 or so games. another thing is me and my brother we are twins and are going to be seniors our high school team is not good and we are on our fourth coach out of four years. the new coach doesn't seem invested in the team as we only are going to have 17 practices before our first game. so I'm thinking the season may be bad again. we are trying to get to college to play soccer but I don't think any coaches would come and watch our games as our team isn't good. we also play club but are playing in the lowest division because we followed our coach to a different club and he was given the bottom level coaching job. what ways could we use to get noticed by coaches. I know you should go to camps to get your name out their. our club coach said he is taking us to the Akron college teams camp next year. I don't think I'm good enough personally. also should we send videos of ourselves to colleges? sorry for the long comment. and I have just subscribed.
josh henderson In my opinion it is better to fail many times and eventually be successful than to take the easy way out. You might not be able to do it now, but with practice and repetition you might be able to do it in the future! The circumstances sound tough, but good players look for ways to succeed. Keep working hard and doing extra, the best players will find ways to excel. Don't settle for bad coaching, ask a lot of questions, and take control of your development. Hope that helps at least a little.
I'm a goalkeeper who's going into 12th grade, i never got into club sadly because i needed a job at a young age to help support my mom and me. My question is if you have any advice for me in the next few months to prepare for these possible scouts and pickups from college, i would like to be on the top of my game for this season. Thank you.
Even though I have played HS and college soccer ,trying to coach is a pretty damm difficult. Since I only have about like 6 months coaching, one of my biggest questions is about formation. This is for high school girls soccer JV. I really think a flat 4 is better to teach than playing a sweeper/stopper 4 diamond formation. One big reason being that sweeper/stopper usually results 2 defenders going in for one attacker leaving another player open. Thus, I think working on speed, shifting, communication, and good defending skills ( jokey sliding body) in a flat 4 is the better option. Is it the correct move would it be better for the girls to learn the flat 4 and guide them away from the sweeper/stopper formation they have been doing since rec and junior high?
I just graduated 8th grade and I'm playing varsity next year in Virginia for Great bridge high school. I am training all summer and is there any drills u should try

Hey coach Javi, would you scout a player who has gotten injured in one of his or her high school soccer game and was out for a whole season but will be able to play next year’s season?
I'm a 6-4 forward and Wing senior 17 years old 175 and I'm looking to play somewhere I live in a small town called Moorhead, Minnesota can I get some help coach
What would be the best way to showcase yourself as a person who can play multiple positions, I can play a CAM and a LW both of which I like, how would I let a coach know that without seeming indecisive etc
Hey guys, I recently uploaded an ultimate guide to getting recruited to play in college:
ruclips.net/video/2jlbhJmjixY/видео.html
Coach Javi I’m 13 trying to make it professional what are some tips?
Coach Javi hey coach Javi I just uploaded my soccer video highlights and tell me if I can make it to D1 school
@@osmartfernandez5857 haha I’m also 13(Now)and your prob 16 now, how are you doing now?
Most of the talent come from poor families and get overlooked every time that is why our country is super slow at progressing the youth program. Not every family can take off work for the week and take there son to Las Vegas for a tournament where scouts actually show up.
They have show cases all over the country, especially during the summer where the kids have more free time to goto
Not tue

It’s not about talent poor/middle of the road/rich. It’s about seizing every opportunity that presents itself and also making opportunities with hard work and dedication.
Best video you've made so far, you should do more analysis like this.
right!
Agreeee
Best video of the year. Really liked the breakdown of the requirements for players and the analysis. Thanks Javi. No exaggeration but This was literally what I needed to elevate my game
Nathaniel Adjei glad it helped!
Coach Javi it is lassies

William Schaub I thought it would be ladies because it already has lad in it 😂
That’s Scottish
William Schaub that’s just Scotland lad
Jonjo Baggins No it’s also northern England not just Scotland
It’s lads and gals
I just found this video and this is going to help me continue to improve my game. Thank you for making this to help us understand what coaches look for

Spark1383 Exactly
Club soccer is BS lol majority of kids playing really arent that good but since mom and dad pay big 💵 for it, they let it pass.
Being a senior in high school and a freshman to be soccer player, this was a Great and simlle video.
I have to agree with Lass/Lasses. Lady/Ladies is a more formal word opposite to Gentlemen.
what division 1 college program do you coach for?

This video helped me a lot . Loved the way you broke down the process of what coaches look for and see when scouting! Ima use this knowledge!
Super video coach!! Can you make a video for defensive midfielder?
This is by far the best video i enjoyed this walk through
I liked that you got very specific about what you look for within each position. I would like to hear more about those things. Thanks!
I wish my high school soccer coach would’ve shown us this video and not watch full because most guys did quite get the memo... good video!!!🔥🔥🔥 will definitely recommend to my old coach from 15’ lol

Great breakdown, especially as I agreed with your assessment.
I was a freshman last year and I started every game ,got picked for the all star game , scored 5 goals as a a freshman winger

thank you so much. You pretty much gave me some help. I now know what my mistakes are.
thank you for the info
I play center D. I did corner kicks and goal kicks. This was my first year, and I was named a captain. Do you think you could just do a video about the center defense position and the defense line ?
Counter attacking is my favourite gameplan💪
Do you ever come across any Santiago players from the movie Goal and how come theres hardly good players like in Europe here in the U.S. or Mexico
I really feel like I can play d1 but im in South Africa so it’s not gonna be easy
great video
thanks for the info I'll be sure to incorporate all of your video tips 👍
Anything your looking for or what other coaches are lookin for

you can say birds too 'fit birds'
Thank you so much for this video, this helped out very much.
this is a great video good to know what I need to work on if I want to get scouted
Hey Javi, I just wanted to ask about scouting and becoming a scout. Im really passionate about scouting players and analysing talent in this beutiful game but Im not sure where to start, any help or advice about becoming a scout would be really helpful 🙂
Boss, is it the same concept from playing at d1 soccer and getting scouted for the pros?
Good job coach!!
i enjoyed the indepth explanation. what do u personally look for in fowards
do you watch more high school games or club games
That Panera in the beginning looked really good

Very cool video I would like to know how bout the goalkeeper what do you look for in a goalkeeper
Could you put a marker on the players you are talking about when you re talking about games.
What do u look at when scooting center backs??
Great video👍🏻👍🏻

It would be nice for there to be some scouting here where I am we really don't have such chances but great video
Does Episoketren System really help to improve your soccer game? I've read a lot of good stuff about this popular training program.
This looked like mundelein high school in Illinois. Was on the team when Waukegan played there.
What camera and editing program do you use? I️ am looking to capture game film and slice I️t up.
you can use lad male or female if you want 👍

What do you look for a goalkeeper?
& what are college recruiters looking for in a goalkeeper?
I just graduated 8th grade and I'm playing varsity next year in Virginia for Great bridge high school. I am training all summer and is there any drills u should try
*i
Davis Johnson hey im going too high school in virginia and im going tl grassfeild
Davis Johnson I’m a 3 year Varsity player. The most important part of soccer is agility. No matter what position you play, you need to be able to stop and change directions quickly. I’d suggest doing ski jumps, squats with a jump, burpees, run stairs/hills, etc. eat a lot of protein. Low carbs. Hope I can help. Goodluck.
I’m also moving to high school next year and I want to play in the varsity team
Not always, now yes that is extremely important, but a lot of good players have a really good game vision.
