@absolutezerochill2700 sometimes playing games on original hardware feels GREAT. I could easily emulate 3ds games on my phone but playing the games on a 3ds feels much better, its the same for other games and consoles.
i ordered a fancy japanese new 3ds recently. while waiting for it to arrive, i was cleaning out my room and found my old dusty dsi. i modded it & filled up the sd card. needless to say, the new 3ds is still in the box. i have no idea why, or what it even is that draws me to it. technically speaking, the 3DS is just a better DSi. but for some reason, i just vastly prefer playing ds games on my DSi. something about it, i guess
@@Kurozu1991 It has to do with the pixel density and the resolution of the DS/DSi being 1:1 with the games. Native systems are much more clear whereas the 3DS will have some native blur to it because there are more pixels. You can still have DS games run at their native resolution by holding Start/Select before you boot up the game, but you just end up with ugly black borders around the screen.
When i was little i used to play games at first and then on the last 3 days before the charger for my dsi Broke, i would play Flipnote studio to toy with the last few little animations that were trash and it became a memory that i will never forget. its sad it all dissapeared.
when it comes to the ds i play obscure games like de blob 2 (scott the woz has a copy of it ) and trackmania these were total gems (the 2d sonic games were good too)
Fun fact: Asphalt 4 was also released on the iPod. No, not the iPod Touch. The old click wheel iPod. The iPod games were available on iTunes, but they removed that part of the store in 2011, so there is no way to get Asphalt 4 besides finding an iPod that already has it installed. A few of the other games were cracked, allowing people to install them without buying them, but efforts to crack the remaining games died off as the iPod lost popularity. Since it has now been over a decade since the store was shut down, it's unlikely that these games will ever be cracked.
Honestly for years I never knew how the DSi was and still is one of the best classic DS models out there. Sure, it lacks the GBA slot, but that can be easily remedied with some hacking. It’s the only classic DS that has an SD card slot, its buttons are MUCH nicer than the DS lite’s, the design resists fingerprints much better, it uses the same charger as the 3DS last I checked, it has a much better menu, the star button doubles a reset button so no more shutting the whole console off to get back to the main menu, it has WiFi and its own dedicated store, and overall, it’s just a wonderful system. I’ve always seen the 3DS as a whole different type of console, and the DSi as the last true original classic DS. Well done on this video!

I had a DSi and a 3DS but never had a DS. I watched someone play a game from her DS but that's as far as it got. But I do remember constantly losing my touchscreen stick 😂
im glad i got a dsi xl so i can play all of my favorite games on a big screen and mess around with my flash cart that i use with my phat ds often and i modded my dsi within the same day of me getting it

Uh, probably because DS games look a lot better on a DS than 3DS. Difference is night and day.

Yeah. DSiWare is a beautiful gem, forgotten in time. Thankfully I picked up a couple of titles on 3DS before all that died off.
TIL you can install custom firmware on a DSi so you can still play DSiWare games today! Will definitely be trying that out
