It's true! I have 2 cats and they figured out it takes both of them to get into the treat cupboard. Full on kitty cooperation.
My cat used to try to open the snack drawer... so I kept telling him sit sit sit... when he sat by accident, I opened the drawer for him. So now he sits when you tell him to. But sometimes he chooses not to if he doesnt fell like it

My cat does this too. Learned to keep the treats in a plastic container with a tight lid. She would get them from thr cabinet and tear the bag. Eat the entire thing. Cats are smart

I got my cat from a shelter when she was 5 and she was 17 pounds and she wasn't losing weight on diet food then I caught her opening the cupboard opening the food bin eating and then closing it all afterward. RIdiculous smart animals can get ha

I have a Great Dane, and a few years back I’d made some cookies. I had to leave, and Danes are notorious counter surfers. You better put anything you love like seven feet high lol. Anyway, I put them in a container on top of a big kitchen island. I went to work and got a funny pic sent to me by the company that maintains my yard. It was my dog Lurch, stuck on top of that island and no cookies in sight. Omg, he’d jumped up there to eat them but then couldn’t get down. They had to help him and thought it was hilarious. I’m just glad they were there or he’d have been stuck there for sixish hours:(

My cat would always find those Temptations treats! She’d drag the bag around until she found a human to open it for her. She’d wake us up at night to open the bag.
I USED to have mine in a basket on a middle shelf. I saw 2 back legs sticking out of the basket while the rest of her was searching for her temptations. I let her continue because I had been missing packets for a while. She backed out of basket with full bag in her mouth and ran to behind the sofa. There I found 4 eaten packets - she chewed them open!!! Suffice to say, I no longer keep them there 😂

The online stories about that stuff are hilarious! Just make sure to hide them well because they have a high fat content and can damage the cat’s liver. Some cats stopped eating their regular food so their owners bought the big bins of temptations to use as food and some kitties died. The company never gives feedback but you’ll find many vets on those sites warning about the dangers of it any several brands of canned cat food. 😮🥲

I took the nozzle off the shower hose. My cat saw it shooting water a different way and reached out a smacked it hard. It obviously wasn't doing it right. So he smacked it.

Cats are wicked smart; they're always figuring something out. My wife and I had a cat years ago (love you, Cicero, RIP) and we used to say that if he'd had opposable thumbs he'd have been scary! Now we're on our next generation (they're getting old, too...one's pushing 17yo), and both of them are STILL figuring out how to bedevil us...and we wouldn't have it any other way.

RIP to my sweet grey kitty with white feet and chest. So after my brother died a few years ago when I was depressed she would try and come like shake my shoulder with her paw like meow u ok and soooo like ya gonna feed me. And she was so emphatic would leave me be give up and just go Flip over entire food bin lmao so food spilling out floor and just feed herself. 😂 and only cat ever seen if someone knocked she growled and ran toward the door to protect mommy. Ha out of dead sleep would. Saved her from shelter at 5. An outbreak killed all the animals 2 weeks after got her.. dogs cats bunnies. Guess they put dogs all same pen.. news said tweakers running place so awful.. so outbreak of course poor babies. But who knows what' she went thru b4 maybe dog buddy. All know is her name was misty n ditched in an apt with roommate then they put shelter 3 months was in..but we looked after eachother. Then I took in adult stray boy. And man even fixed. Boy had no loving caring empathy ha. Just selfish. Miss my fuzzy smart girl. Had to pet her make eye contact and talk all same time or get yelled at. Never seen such an aware cat. She lived to 22 passed in sleep

My cat did the same but she was a tuxedo cat. I told her if she learns to flush we are millionaires lol😂😂. My baby died in 2018 after 18yrs and 7 months with her. I was devastated. I can't walk through the cat aisle at the grocery store any more.

They can be real smart asses. My only worry is if they trap themselves.
At one point my cat realized a cupboard didn’t shut properly so she would go in and close the door behind her to chill in a nice enclosed warm space (it mostly shut but she wasn’t locked in due to a latch not fully working). She was always so effective at hiding. It was like hide and seek.
Our cat loved scattering straws out of the straw drawer.
After the telephone answering machine arrived the cat would sit next to it and push the greeting button over and over and over listening to the end each time.
This is why childproof latches on drawers and cabinets are so important. Like Jackson Galaxy says, Cats are like toddlers that can get to the ceiling. It's still an adorable video, though! 🙂🤗🤗
With one exception, they can make it to the ceiling and back without leaving much evidence🤣 toddlers on the other hand😏.....

I have a picture from when my boy climbed into his treat cabinet and he's sitting on the box. When I get home from work he always greets me and meows a lot. It used to make me happy thinking he was glad to see me....til I noticed he startes at the drawer his treats are about 5 seconds into his meowing.
I had two dogs and a cat. I just installed a pet door for the dogs to use, they couldn't figure it out for quite a while. The cat on the other hand, watched me showing the dogs how the door opens and closes and just walks outside like she had been doing it for years.
I hope the dogs get the same equal loving as the cat!!

This is just like my own boy, Teddy. I buy him teeth cleaning treats because he’s had chronic gingivitis since he was a kitten, and he loves them. He loves them so much if he sees the treat bags when I buy them, he starts chewing on them. He also likes to open cabinets and drawers when bored. So, I have to put his treats high up enough that even if he opens the cabinet they’re in, he can’t get to them.
You might try cutting opening 100-200 mgs of CoQ10 for the gums, each day. (Soft gels with the orange stuff inside) It cured gingivitis in my cats and dogs within days. It’s also so great for their immune systems. I put it on a plate & they like it very much. If someone occasionally doesn’t take it on their own I wipe it on the top of a front paw. And 1 for myself, too...
@@rs5570 Thanks for the advice. I've recently gotten some teeth cleaning water additive, cleaning spray, and cleaning gel, along with the treats. I've also recently gotten a new kitten, and his mood and health have perked up since she came along. Still, it looks like the two back teeth on his right lower jaw will have to come out, as they are loose and he doesn't like me touching them. But, he doesn't seem to be bothered by them if I leave them alone.
Never thought I would be a cat lover but we ended up having to have my oldest daughter's stay with us for a while and our poor dog got so jealous he got all the attention! Yes I am a cat lover now🥰🥰

Funny how it kept making human interaction sounds to try to see if the human was coming during the theft.
This is why I have to put my cats food in the top cupboards. I always come home to every bottom cabinet open with the occasional hairy pot & pan. I also had to teach my cat to sit and shake when I feed him so I could actually get to the dish to feed him lol. He now also gives me “loves” and rubs his nose on my nose while he shakes.
