Keeping with the board placement theme, what about a Cobweb single-use card that prevents the opponent from moving hermits on their next turn?
Ooooo smart! Potion of slowness could also potentially do something to that effect. Maybe cobweb only effects the opponent for one turn but the splash potion effects for 3, but also stops you from moving
@@aji_jacobson not sure about 3 turns, but a splash potion that locks both players’ hermits in place for at least one turn is also a cool idea.
How would this idea be different from the Curse of Binding card?
@@gravity1537 curse of binding only prohibits the active hermit from going AFK. Cobweb would prevent the opponent from using the ladder, ender pearl, or a secondary effect that allows them to move hermits up or down on the board.

If I remember right, Geminislay was originally a bit where Tango wanted Gem to kill him in as many ways as possible; maybe a type change sort of thing would be a cool way to reflect that.

You are absolutely crushing it with the expansion pack alter ego cards! I think we all know after the bloodbath that happened this week that GeminiSlay is on the horizon.
That golden axe that scar used should have killed the Etho. The card says "negates opponents attached effect card" so it should have ignored the netherite armor which should have hit for 100. Might have changed some things since Scar may have drawn the chest a round earlier from the prize card and could have gotten a Hermit. Was frustrating to see but good game nonetheless!

Grumbot is not a alter ego, but it might be fun to add him.
Move idea 1: Mumbo for mayor
Move idea 2: Empires, does an additional 30 damage per afk gem/false (because they play on empires and hermitcraft)
Could add pearl to that since she was on empires in season 1
I honestly think grumbot would be a fun ITEM card since he has poultry man and potato boy no idea what he could do maybe it’s a one time card that lets them do 2 turns or something
What if we have Grumbot as an actual card and then Grumbot Prime (content generator) or Emperor Grumbot (Hermitopia) as his alter egos

Another interesting idea for effect cards, or even a whole new class of cards: mob cards.
A creeper- does tnt like damage but also does small damage to opponents hermits directly adjacent to active hermit.
Goat - knocked opponents hermit into the empty slot of your choice. Would benefit directional attacks like renbob’s hyperspace. Maybe if it synergies with doc for some added bonus effect.
Would be cool if the GM had the mob cards. Would give them something to do lol
I had another thought. Having cards synergies between hermits and effect cards would also allow normal hermit cards some more value. Maybe they don’t have special moves but with the right effect cards they might have some benefit especially since rares are limited in tournaments.

Alter Ego Idea: (if you haven't already done this or are still looking)
5am Pearl (from the life series)
Attribute: PvP, Prankster or Balanced (depending on what works best for the rest of the cards)
First attack: Tillie
Second attack: Red Life: If Pearl is in the red health range, this attacks let's the user use a second Single User Effect card during this attack
So for example, if someone uses a chest then attacks with Red Life they can then use a TNT with the attack or use a Bow AND a TNT. But obviously if that seems too overpowered you could change the ability or scrape it that's just a idea I thought of
Had an idea for your shop yesterday. You should maybe sell a "DIY Arena" package/kit that includes all the maps needed, rulebook and so on. Just a thought :)
Makes it easier for hermits to build their own arenas with their own unique designs :)
Defeats the whole purpose of him not having to a lot to make new arenas. But i understand what u mean. Although the arenas would be made by GMs so they should know all the rules and be allowed to get any cards they want🙃🙂
Hearing "Poultry Man and Potato Boy" one after another sounds like a really bad Superhero + Sidekick pairing. Like "Make way for Poultry man, and his side kick: Potato Boy!"
I swear the dispenser coin flip should be called the “Coin of No”, due to how regularly people have been missing their coin flips this tournament.
Beef, I've been enjoying your videos the most of all the Hermits this year. Really appreciate seeing your creative process unfold and the way your determination and sense of humor has kept such a big, grindy project on track. The tournament is such a great way to step back and celebrate the accomplishment, and it's very cool to see all the Hermits appreciate the results of your hard work. Kudos, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season unfolds.
so only the 40 from the golden axe ignores attached cards? i thouht cleos attack + the golden axe ignored the damage, which would be 60+40=100 and kill etho. i guess not?
It would be great to have a card called the debug stick serving as a direct counter to the lead so you replace your cards that were moved and I think it fits the theme of the expansion
The golden axe effect of ignoring the opponent's attached effect is basically useless if you still subtract the damage from the attack.
You are basically not ignoring it.
It would be the the same damage as the diamond sword.
I think that attached effect cards should be completely ignored the turn it is used.
Also, I suggest that if an attack has a value bigger than 00, then it should deal at least 10 damage, even if the opponent's armour would completely negate the damage.
I can't imagine I'm the first to have this idea, but Alter Ego for Etho: Ladders. Two moves: He goes up (moderate damage) move both Ladders and damaged hermit up a slot. He goes down (moderate damage) move both Ladders and damaged hermit down a slot

Stare sounds a bit too OP it should have a coin toss to force the AFK.
You can use the hermit's head or even cards insted of the sign.

Card Idea: Potion Of Swiftness. Allows Hermit to attack the turn it becomes active.
I'm sure you get loads of these but can't believe this card isn't already in the game.

A rare Mumbo "Quite Simple" rework idea
For every AFK Prankster type, flip a coin, +20HP damage for every heads
If at least 1 head was rolled, flip a coin, if heads the total damage doubles
This way Mumbo's max damage is still possible but becomes highly unlikely and dependent on other AFK pranksters
or you could just remove the double damage for afk pranksters. It makes the card very good but not OP good.
I'm SUPER behind on videos so this might have been talked about already but I think it would be really cool to have an expansion for retired/former Hermits, mostly because I want to see Sl1pg8r and hear people say things like "Stuff and Things" and "Squircle" but then I JUST(as I was typing this comment) thought how cool it would be to have Pungence and one of his abilities is that he can count as Bdubs!
For people who aren't aware Pungence is Bdubs' brother and they sound SO MUCH ALIKE when they speak. I found that out going back and watching old Among Us videos with Grian, Impulse, Tango, other Hermits, and other people!
An interesting item card might be Slime/Honey Block, which locks opposing hermits in place in addition to smth else
Adding Ladders as alternate Etho would be so good for the theme. His moves are goes up and goes down. Both wpould be blue moves but they just move Etho up or down as well as damage.
Alter ego special move suggestion, have moves that increases or decreases in damage based on the player win points.
Etho, putting in work with that netherite armor. Man’s took three cards and needed 7 or 8 to take him out. Nice! Gg
Congratulations again Beef on the entire TCG you have created. I’m loving the tournament more than the regular matches due to the fact that everyone is trying different decks and combinations of cards, much more enjoyable than watching meta decks.

My dearest of Beefers, maybe you can add dual type item cards, ultra rare cards that have two item card types, for example, a dual prankster farm type item card. It is worth two item cards, one prankster and one farm. It might be a pain to implement, but I feel like it would have a great impact with the whole ability to move around Hermits on the board.

Might be wrong, but doesn't the Axe make the whole attack ignore Armour? Usually when people use Swords they don't subtract the armor damage twice. With how it was played this match, the Sword and thr Axe would have the same effect.
I think you’re right, but scar didn’t get a hermit prize card once he finally did kill etho, so the outcome really would have been the same.
That is true! I was thinking the same. Cleo would've knocked out Etho and the game would've continued further. Scar would've had more cards to possibly continued the game and possibly won. I wish they could do a re-match because of this technicality. Despite the fact that I do want Beef to win, I do think they still need to do a re-match so that Beef wins fairly.
@HQ, Even though he didn't get a hermit prize card, Cleo was still in play and there would've been 1 extra card distributed until he got the chest and he could've brought out Cleo again, so he would've had a Hermit before Wels got knocked out.
That is how it probably *should* work, but currently the axe works the same as a sword. Etho and others have pointed it out, but idk if Beef wants to change it.
The prize card he got didn’t help his Cleo he couldn’t use anything. Would’ve been the same cards no matter what order the etho knockout happened 🤷♂️
i like how scar specifically asked if axe ignores armor, and both beef and cub said yes, and beef even said "oh etho isnt gonna make it", only to have cub comes in ONE SECOND later, negates the axe damage, kept etho alive, with NOBODY realizing it.
hey beef, shower thought, composter should be changed to "discard 2 cards and draw a number of cards equal to the number discarded."
I love that with Poultry man being a common type we could still get the Incognito Poultry man (with the coat and hat) as a rare later on (could be a speed runner for balancing given how quickly he springs into action to save the day!!)

Hey beef, I just came over from Etho's TCG Match wit some thoughts for you based around the interaction you had with him near the start of the match. You know? This one:
Etho: Gonna play a rare Stress.
Beef (officiating, exhausted): Oh no, here we go.
---
I feel this interaction show that you've realized a little too late to do something about it, that Mumbo being too good was just a symptom of Stress+efficency (Stressfficency) being metawarpingly powerful.
Like the Ban on mumbo hurts the prankster archetype, but the prankster archetype was power because of Stressfficency; and because Stressffiency doesn't require item cards, it can, like ultra rare Etho, be slid into any and every hermittype deck. It's better in monoprankster sure; but, it functions practically identically in psuedomono-miner, terraformer, builder, explorer, and so on; almost every deck is better if it's running Stressfficency, and the decks that aren't made better by Stressfficency are weaker than it. Which is why no one already playing pranksters dropped Stressfficency; they just pivoted in different in various ways to different hermit types.
This is a lesson in differenciating between cards which are powerful as a symptom of a warped meta, and cards that are the root cause of the warped meta. If we want to name a hermit, the root cause of the warp is Stressmonster, but the real root cause of Stress being too powerful is that Effiency is too good when used in combination with her. The quickest, simplest patch to fix it would be reworking Efficency a bit to nerf Stressfficency while buffing it's power for other hermits. If I may be so bold as to propose a change:
Effiency -Effect- Play in any hermit's item slot. Counts as an item of any type while in that slot.
This gives you the benefit of getting abilities out one turn sooner (as you esscentually get to play two energy cards the turn you use it), which is I think the intended play pattern; but it reducing the massive value a no-item'd Stress's YOLO gets to have on the game because she need at least one other item card invested in her to go. Stressfficency is specifically nerfed while other hermits get to enjoy a buff. It's the best patch I can think of to address the problem.
Some kind of ultra rare card to switch any 2 cards in a section on your side could be cool; you could switch a 10 and 300 health, move a good item card from an almost dead hermit to a better one, or even switch 2 (same type) hermits to give a new hermit all the same item cards and health of the old one (like the ladder)-- could be fun. Don't know potential name could be though

Hey Beef, an idea to balance Rare Mumbo card... the special errata:
Pick either: Flip a coin for each prankster on your side (including Mumbo). Deal 40 damage for each heads. OR Skip flipping coins and deal 80 damage.
That gets rid of punching for multiple hundreds in one attack, as with good luck and a full board you're still only throwing out a maximum of 200 damage (6% chance). And without a full board you're doing a risk/reward gamble over just punching for a flat 80.
Add end crystal as a more powerful but also more dangerous TNT ( roll if head 100 damage to opponents and 60 to you if tail 50 damage to the opponents and also 50 to you) but Mumbo potato boys should have a guaranteed for End crystal to always hit head or reduced damgae to self to 20
p.s beef shouldnt the golden axe card have negated the effect of the armor hence knocking out etho ??
It only negates the damage directly from the axe, hence the 40. The move damage is unaffected.

A cool effect card could could be multishot, where you distribute the attack damage evenly among the active hermit and 2 AFK or adjacent hermits. Kind of like the multishot enchantment for crossbows, probably rare, maybe ultra rare
I understand why you needed to have a common prankster, and it also makes sense, but, to me, eggsplosion sounds like it could damage everyone, but with a coin flip to determine who gets hit and who doesn't. This would be both you and your opponent, AFK hermits and active ones. Sort of like eggs actually going everywhere.
Beacons would be a nice addition that give a aura effect to the hermits next to it, they are played like hermits and they got 200 health but are active all the time with your active hermit, so the enemy can attack it, but they don't count as a point when taking out.
For example:
Beacon: strength
3 PvP type cards: aura, give the hermits next to this 20+ damage to their attacks.
Might be cool if the water bucket could move hermits around. Any hermits next to a bucketed hermit would have to move AWAY from them by one spot, as long as the spot they would be moving to is unoccupied. Bucketed Hermit isn't affected.
I’m loving the TCG tournament! You did such a good job with the game Beef! I can’t get enough!
You can keep track of players K/D (kill/death)! The best way to do it would probably be with a +- statistic. Basically just K-D, and the higher the number the better. xB, for example, would have a +3, while BDubs would only have a +1. Even though they both won matches,you can clearly tell who’s actually leading.
Another example. A player who wins 3 to 1 would have a +2 KD.
You can also use different terminology of course because “kill” isn’t very in the spirit of the TCG

I think its better when the “weaker” attack has the special ability. Like Grian’s Prankster. Then you have to choose between the ability and weaker attack vs just a straight up higher attack.
Recommendation: Have the alter egos of the hermits whos cards you made, come play as a kind of "Elite Four" with specialty designed decks for their card. Might be a great way to get everyone together for the end of the tournament and show off the new cards.
Beef I have an idea! To go with the board placement, how about an Stalactite effect card that scales damage depending on how high it is on the board or how far it is on the opposing hermit?Like maximum damage if used on the top slot and the opposing hermit is on the very bottom. It could also work as a mechanic for Anvil but you already have one for it
Rather than losing the match due to not drawing a hermit maybe you only lose a point. That would give you at least one more chance to draw a hermit.

Idea for a ladders alter ego!!! Make the special move "go up go down" flip a coin, if heads ladders goes up on the board then attacks. If tails ladders goes down on the board then attacks. I'm not to sure on the normal move it maybe could be "LADDERS" or maybe "ladderself"
Maybe "Peace and Love" can also do some healing to the Hermit Across too, maybe not the full 20 but it'd be a neat little risk reward kinda deal. Or more, Give and Take

A good ultra rare card could be a single use hopper or observer where you get to draw as many cards as YOU have hermits on the board
Also Beefff!! Idk if you've thought of this already but since you're introducing String effect cards, how about a Shear effect card that gets rid of it? I've also seen a great idea about a Cobweb effect card that prevents the hermits from changing slots/moving up or down on the board and I think it's pretty neat!
Renbob feels super powerful honestly, especially with the 300 HP and the special attack only costing 2 item cards.
i really want a fan made march madness espn style update show commentating and giving quick analysis of each match and the tournament as a whole lol

Effect card idea, End Crystal: Does equal amounts of damage to both players' active hermit and the two hermits adjacent to both active hermits. If you want to keep it simpler then it could just damage every hermit on the board equally.
I think it would be fun if you could sell sound effects getting hermits to say their moves and putting them on records so you can play them as they attack
GG Beef! I love Scar but I was rooting for you! That UR Etho can be your best friend but not for very long considering his low health. When I play it I make sure to have a golden apple and a couple of chests as well as looting (I don’t use armour).

correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the axe cancel all dmg. reducing effects? thus making so that all dmg. is added up and not reduced meaning etho should've died?
Yeah, yall made a miss call there. Still, you would've won that battle regardless.
The axe wasn't affected by armor, but Cleo's attack does. Honestly, the only scenario where the armor ignore would be useful is if your dmg is lower than the armor's protection (i.e. you have a 30 atk, enemy have netherite, you would still do the 40 axe dmg, instead of 30-40+40). Its still flat out (slightly) better than the same rarity diamond sword.
@@jsw973 Hmm, k, but I was under the impression all dmg. is added up (including effect) and then reduced if armor is on, and since the axe ignores armor, there should be nothing to reduce, I mean isn't that the whole point of the axe.
With that said, there are some changes that could be made that'd make this game much better/interesting.
An example would be to change the Shield. As the Shield is now it's pretty useless, you're better off with the Golden Armor.
It'd be better to have it cancel all but axe effect cards dmg. unless used by the rare hermit with same ability as the axe effect card, while also maintaining the 10 reduction dmg. and getting discarded once dmg. is taken. It also kind of makes since, you could consider it as the shield is raised for the initial attack, being the TNT, Sword, Crossbow, what have you, then it breaks letting hermit do their dmg. minus 10.
It would make the shield a legit card to consider and unique from any other card. Not OP, but not completely pointless.
@@jsw973 Naa, if all damage is added up then reduced with armor it makes a HUGE difference, if not then, not so, I would have to rewatch this video but I feel like there was a moment where they did the add all damage up first and then reduce later scenario in the same battle. I think I remember it now, I could be wrong, but during the battle Scar used a crossbow while Beef had the armor on. They played it 2 different ways, and ONE of those ways were wrong, and I'm under the impression it's the one I'm referring to. So here's more/less the raw info.
(60+40)-40=60
The +40 is the crossbow, and the -40 is the armor while the 60 was the hermits attack.
60-40+40=60
This was how the axe was used. Notice the equation is different. So this means the axes effect is basically pointless or they messed up.
Below is how I understand it should've went.
(60+40)-(40-40)= 100
So the 60 is hermits attack plus the 40 axe damage.
the first 40 is the armor and the minus 40 is the effect of the axe, so whatever the armor amount is it would be nullified by the axe. so if it was iron armor it's be 20-20=0 basically it's 0 out thanks to axes ability.
So yeah, they did something wrong no matter which way you look at it, I won't claim which one was wrong for certain, but I will with certainty say that something was done wrong, but regardless of that Beef had that game.
Card ideas - one to force the opponent to discard their hand
one to remove the opponent's discard pile from play - cant use the chest to bring used cards back to their hand
Can you play an alter ego hermit cards when the none alter ego version of the card is on the board?
It would be cool if there was a new hermit type that did not introduce new items, but had unique synergies and used a variety of types in exchange for powerful special moves. It could be something like mapmaker, and a card could be something like:
Etho (slab) 250Hp
[PVP] Washed up 40
[PVP BUILDER REDSTONE] Battle bane 00*
*If used with the first 10 turns of battle opponent skips their turn, otherwise do 100 damage

Hey Beef, maybe an idea for an effect card is “the slime block”. It is a single use card that sticks around after your turn, preventing the opponent from playing a single use card himself

It’d be really cool if one of the expansion packs was was the gym leaders, the ones with personal arenas (rn just cub and doc) but you can only get the card by defeating each GM in their arena. And then limit those cards to one per a deck, except in the GM specific decks that have three
Was watching your previous video and the ladder card. Thought about an item that only does bonus damage if the active hermit with it equipped battles a hermit in the same row. With a deck built around moving around, you can use ladders offensively to position your hermits in the same row to get this bonus damage off. Alternatively, opens up more ability possibilities that allow you to move your own or opposing hermits as well? Perhaps some abilities will do extra damage/bonus effect if a hermit was moved this turn/last turn?
I think you would have won anyway, but I think that, when he attacked etho with the golden axe, etho should have been discarded because of the axe. I mean, if the armor is just ignored for the 40 damage of the axe but not for the damage of the normal attack, what is the point?
In term of strategy, as you have tht etho to use the special move of your Beef, you cannot leave it out when it is about to be knocked out. Better preserve it in the bench, as if you lose him you cannot use that special ability

I don't think she has a skin for it yet, but GeminiTay has recently acquired the nickname GeminiSlay for her PvP skills.
If I may put my input on the alter ego cards. Scarlet pearl and geminislay would be 2 really good mix ups. Scarletpearl as a prankster to make 4 pranksters and geminislay as a pvp
Scarlet pearl as a common but geminislay as a rare and her ability name should be something to do with behead and if it deals the last hit flip a coin to deal a small bit of damage to the hermit across
No sure how many more evil hermit cards you plan on doing but Joe Hills could be "Joehost" his beetlejiuce alter ego he does during live streams.

so to help balance mumbo, aswell as other card like him like impulse. you should change the rule to only effect unique rested hermits so if there are 2 stresses mumbo only gets boosted form one stress, same with impulse he will only get one boost if there are 2 tangos out.
