Aerial views of this beautiful island. There was a lot of sand in the air in some scenes, blown across from the Sahara Desert, making it look a bit hazy, but decided to upload the footage anyway. Featured in the video is Costa Adeje, with it's black sand volcanic beaches, beautiful hotels, and amazing backdrop of the mountains. Also Mount Teide and it's vast lava fields. With an elevation of 3,715m it looks spectacular when arriving to the island on the plane. It is safe to hike to the top, but although it has not erupted since 1909 it is still an active volcano. Los Gigantes is also featured. This is a resort town on the west coast. It gets its name from the huge sea cliffs, 500-800m above the sea. Los Gigantes, meaning the giants. Finally Teide Observatory, 2,390m above sea level. Inaugurated in 1964. Known for it's great astronomical seeing conditions. There are guided tours of the site also.
