I love that Kevin Drew is finally getting to go off and really show us what this new vision of zombies can really be, not the lifeless operators, not the mw3 dmz stuff, not rushed stuff like vanguard or even cold war as much as I love cold war, finally we're gonna get the good stuff they've been cooking
Bare in mind that they had to place their Zombies assets in the new engine in the ground up, so VG’s case was a skeleton crew, while the rest were given 4 years of development to build BO6 up (after VG flopped so that 2024 was where they were cooking)
idk really dont like the look of the crew were getting , especially weaver being from the campaign feels wierd, everything else looking pretty good though

How many times have they got everyone sucked in and then turned around and lied about everything? Here we go again millions of people getting disappointed again.
A healthy amount of doubt is always a good thing to exercise, especially with Call of Duty. I truly believe that Kevin wants to make a good Zombies experience, but when his boss is Activision it really is hard to say if they can deliver on anything they say. Cold War Zombies was a lot of fun, so I'm holding out hope that BO6 will improve on that model, but I'm also being cautious. Only time will tell where this one goes.

Very happy they know it's counter to the rest of CoD we don't need to connect it to Campaign or Multiplayer, it was created as it's own thing just a fun side mode and that's how it should be

Running backwards is gonna be huge for people who like to traditionally train zombies around the map. Some guns in Cold War are just straight up unusable because of how slow they are. And if double tap is back?! Oh man bullet guns are gonna serve somewhat of a purpose again for your average zombies run.

The fact he mentioned that it would still be accessible for newer/less skifful players worries me. That was one of the main reasons cold war wasnt as replayable. In previous zombies games, it felt like an achievement to actually reach level 60+, but in cold war I was reaching level 60 first time playing any of the maps.

Making it easier to reach higher rounds was done for a reason. Doesn’t mean the Easter eggs are easier it’s simply the fact that higher rounds won’t be as cluttered

Yeah. I don't know why they don't seem to vet the people that they decide to hire for their company. In my opinion, before somebody can be hired on as a director or a high up developer in a studio they should have to be personable and able to talk to people in a respectful way. I remember I was watching a WAN show episode and Linus said that transparency always comes at a cost of moments like the world of Warcraft situation but honestly I was like, no, just don't hire pretentious assholes and they won't say stuff like that live on stage lol it's really not that hard.

It's really great to hear Kevin talking this much about zombies and being genuinely excited for the mode while doubling down on confirming things and saying things in line with what the community wants... BUT I'm a lil worried about the fact nothing relating to veteran players was mentioned, because I really don't want easy cold wat easter eggs and I really don't want everything gun to feel weak other then shotguns again like in cold war and I especially don't want the armor system being like it was on cold war
They'll have a great mode for us for now but I need to know these things

Where we can put on camos/attachments/blueprints outgame and when buying a wallgun/box having it fully functional and ready to go.
Weapon kits were fun and fair, loadouts makes the game extremely easy and removes the feeling of progression of getting points and buying a good weapon

It all sounds good except for the part where he said "making things more accessible for people to get into zombies" that's kinda the problem. I feel like I'm playing a combination of warzone and dayZ and not cod zombies, cold war was okay but I hated that scorestreaks were buildable, that guns had rarities, the fact that you could spawn in with just about any weapon you wanted, and the fact that to get the full effect of ANYTHING you had to play to earn upgrades, that type of passive progression is not what most of us are asking for, I don't want to replay a map only to realize there's really nothing to do outside of the main quest and wonderweapons. I'm tired of there being no substance in plot, or in gameplay.

He has been the go to zombies guy since I began the Black Ops series back in the Blops 1 & 2 days and it’s been hard to watch but inspiring to see him maintain realism, honesty, and integrity of his opinions and criticisms even to the detriment of his potential “corporate opportunities” and channel health. I was with you then Milo and I’m with you now!
Tbh I liked the semi open world from CW it mainly needed more objectives and extra zones per map set plus some extra player customization, round based in a confined map is still good for what it is though IMO CW did it best they just needed extra stuff as a whole

I honestly would love to see the zombies mode get made right. Issue is, I’m not willing to pre-order this game until I see the post-launch content and what the initial peer reviews are.
There is no need for preordering, you can always wait untill the game comes out and see if the result is good or bad, and THEN buy it. Also, the game will be on gamepass so if you are on pc or xbox you can just play it that way

Mixed opinion on this. I like the Easter Eggs being Easter Eggs, but modern zombies maps have "Easter eggs" (hidden objectives, really) where you literally MUST watch a 20+ minute RUclips guide just to play the fkn map correctly and open the whole thing. That was annoying and when I started to play zombies less. I'm not a child anymore. I don't have hours to dump into figuring out how to play a fkn map correctly.
They need to strike a balance. I think Mob of the Dead is a good example. The main objectives are fairly clear and there's even a HUD for it, but the game doesn't hold your hand in figuring it out. I remember figuring out most of the map just by playing with friends when it came out.

For the first time since BO3 I'm actually kinda hyped for Call of Duty. I bought Black Ops 4 and Cold War and they were decent, but I haven't actually been somewhat excited for a Call of Duty game since 2018
I have 2 hopes and wishes... i hope we can't start with any wepon we want, and i hope the upgrade material we see in the trailer can't be used to upgrade wepons like in Cold War... It's sutch a boring element in Cold War and takes away the mystery box and that feeling of being already set up on round 5 from pure luck...

@@RandalhH1 Yeah I think starting from a set of pistols or secondaries would be a good middle ground between cold war and bo3 because lets face it, the rk5 as a starting pistol along with the mr6 did not make things much different when starting compared to starting with a Gallo did in cold war.
Either a new perk to enhance omni movement, or a stamin-up upgrade for sure.

Been watching you for a long time Milo, I remember never understanding the zombies storyline but your videos probably helped all of us.
When people still get excited for COD after what the last decade has been, it reminds me how low bar the standards for gaming hype are.
People are getting excited about something they’ve been passionate about for years. Not a crazy thing to happen.
Hot zombies take: zombies should NOT be trying to reach the largest possible audience. Recent zombies have seemed watered down in the name of broad appeal. There’s gotta be a middle ground somewhere
But why shouldn't it appeal to more people? Id rather have alot more people enjoying a game mode then get something like BO4 ever again which gatekeeps. Cold war is probably one of the best things that happened to zombies and it should build off what cold war did. Cause honestly more people means most likely more love and attention and a better community. What you suggesting is yes a hot take but I say a very counter productive. I would rather we have buried styled sandbox maps if that means more people can enjoy and just have alot of fun then something like an origins or zet which whilst yes alot to to it feels like a chore, busy work and homework leaving the game looking up guides all the time instead of looking up a guide once then being fairly easy to remember and keep the pace of the game flowing. If I had my way I would just go cold war mechanics, jimmy zielinski style maps with hints of Jason side Easter eggs

Lol. You are only advertisement. Let me tell you about zombies devs. First of all the game crashes a lot. Then when you try to find a game with relative low ping less than 200ms you might try for hours! If you activate a double experience token you loose it while trying to find a game with decent ping. Today I waited an hour and finally I joined a game with ping less than 200ms. Packet burst whatever this means after packet burst and in some occasions crashes! I think in a little while we will count the ping in seconds not ms 😂! I think that developers are only there for having huge salaries. For me they are a bunch of incompetent people making millions on our desatified backs. You are simply getting paid to advertise them and cover up their mess!

I really just hope that they have 2 different modes for the round based. The "accessible" mode and the classic start with a pistol mode. Not having that in Cold War made me feel like the box was almost useless. You just went in with the gun you wanted and then did the trials for the wonder weapon... where does that leave the box. That would be amazing to have that back. Starting off with a pistol is just a major staple to zombies.
They did have a start with a pistol mode....just load in with the 1911. Why would that need it's own mode when you can just do it yourself extremely easily

Im not good at zombies, but i really like to just sit there and chill playing zombies. But i also really like the hardcore community of zombies with the easter eggs and world records. So i think it would be really cool if theres a hardcore mode and a casual one. With the hardcore basically not having some elements that are made for the mode to be easier. I would stick to casual mode 100%, i just wanna have fun, but would also really like to see the hardcore community going through a challenging experience.

The answer at 9:40 just tells me that this game will be Cold War 2 and really nothing of value. If you can’t survive the old zombies games til at least round 10 you just need to actually PLAY THE GAME. It does not need to be like multiplayer. Accessibility is good until it comes at the expense of the core experience. High rounds were “cool” because they were an ACHIEVEMENT. They mean nothing now.

It’s kind of upsetting that it wont work with Steam Workshop. BO3 was really good for me and my friends because of modded maps, like that’s why it lasted so long for us.
Ideal zombies game:
-BO3 style round-based zombies
-Class system with ability to choose starting gun/loadout/etc
-Gun levels w/attachments unlocked at certain levels. At max level, you can prestige your gun to increase the color rarity/damage output permanently when selected as your starting weapon.)
-Hub/Home Safe area which is upgradeable, has small passive buffs to points gathered, door repairs, etc. Here you can build a set few perk machines for your personal stache. Can bank points for future runs, unlock weapon storage lockers, and more.
-Crystal Upgrades Shop similar to cold war (upgrade perks, guns, ammo types, class).
This is a more everyday casual upgrade shop which is still providing useful and meaningful upgrades to players of all ranges.
-Easter Egg Shop - Features ultra rare awesome upgrades: attachments for wonder weapons, shield upgrades and attachments, permanent extra perk slots, a second grenade slot, character cosmetics, hidden weapons like the katana, etc.
This is the "speaks to the child in me, i cant believe i just unlocked that" shop.
-Pack a punch upgrades multiple times to keep guns viable in high rounds
-Device that chains last zombie up until you manually release it from the shackles. Nobody likes to hear shrieking while listening to audio, or trying to concentrate on a cipher. The ability to stop and really get into the lore/EE steps without fear of losing their run will allow players of all skill levels to engage with EE content by giving them to time to stop, listen, think, soak in the spooky atmosphere, etc.
