Definitely feel like 97-2006ish was Bruce in his PRIME vocally... He's still amazing for his age. But he was FANTASTIC during his solo era and when I saw the Rock in Rio 2001 DVD..
Absolutely. People always say he was best in the 80s, but I disagree. He was struggling a lot back then. A lot more control in his voice today. He really developed his technique in the mid 90s.
@@mrcoatsworth429 I agree also .. i saw him when he rejoined Maiden in 1999 , and on the Brave New world tour , in 2000 . His voice was just excellent !! i think part of why it wasn't as good in the 80's , as they were touring so heavy . Many times playing 4-5 nights in venues , on Life After Death especially . That must have been brutal .
@@SJ-ty5rw absolutely. They played almost 200 shows in under a year on the Powerslave tour. But I also think it's experience. He knows his voice way better now.
@@mrcoatsworth429 - Yea, a lot of people keep saying bands were the best at the beginning or like 5-10 years into their career or so. But artists like the guys in Iron Maiden started out when they were practically kids and didn't REALLY know what they were doing. Bruce even said somewhere that he had no lessons or anything and didn't know what he was doing. - It probably wasn't even until the end of the '80s that he started taking things more seriously. - And if you listen to him on something like 'Live After Death', one of the most praised live recordings, he struggled on a LOT of higher parts indeed, trying to just squeeze out notes or going for lower octaves. It actually leaves something to be desired if you really listen to it (but there's an energy and spectacle to the show, of course). In contrast; You can hear that as recently as a few years ago that he probably got vocal coaching (in my theory, because of his condition), as he started using better technique and get better range in live performances. I was quite impressed with some of the "Legacy of the Beast" recordings they uploaded. (I mean, listen to this... ruclips.net/video/X9oGkvpkefg/видео.html - It rivals his '90s self.) Much better than even just 10 years ago. - Seems they took a step back and tightened things up. You can tell they care about still delivering a good performance and not just showing up.
Would love to be able to combine Bruce's voice from this era and his voice now. The ability to hit the highs of this era, and the grittier voice of now

With Bruce and Adrian this group had almost as much credibility to be called Iron Maiden as the actual Iron Maiden at this point (they were making better albums too)

Did you never listen to live after death? lol
This one's a great one for this song but live after death is awesome and also live in dortmund is amazing to. Lorenzo Gig Harbor Washington.

O auge vocal do Bruce!!! PQP
o homem is incrivel

Lendo minino♡
i wish his voice was that good when i saw maiden in 83; and 84.
Best version of this song, bruces vocals on point n adrian is amazing n no arry fucking it up out of resentment

As the sun breaks, above the ground
An old man stands on the hill
As the ground warms, to the first rays of light
A birdsong shatters the still
His eyes are ablaze
See the madman in his gaze
Fly on your way, like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your way, like an eagle
Fly and touch the sun (yeah)
Now the crowd breaks and a young boy appears
Looks the old man in the eye
As he spreads his wings and shouts at the crowd
In the name of God, my father I'll fly
His eyes seem so glazed
As he flies on the wings of a dream
Now he knows his father betrayed
Now his wings turn to ashes to ashes his grave
Fly on your way, like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your way, like an eagle
Fly, touch the sun
Yeah
Fly, on your way, like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your way, like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun
On your way, like an eagle
Fly, touch the sun
On your way, like an eagle
Fly
Fly as high as the sun
