Best male metal vocalist hands down. Halford has technical chops and Ronnie was up there but Bruce just sings like a man should and is damn pleasant to listen to. Seems to get better over time. This version is only working for me because he sounds better than ever.
Hmm, I think Halford is way better man. His chest voice is epic. I do agree though, Bruce sounds awesome here. Bottom line is, those 3 guys are the best metal vocalists ever :)
Absolutely agree with you! Those three are my most favorite singers, of course.... Bruce is the first, Rob second and Dio third. I'll add one more..... David Coverdale. Cheers mate!
This is one of the most intense tracks Bruce has ever done. Honestly I love Maiden but cannot remember a track that touches me the same...especially the verses. Nice instrumental version btw

To all people who likes this : You have the capability which a lot of people are missing these days : the gift to enjoy music and feel the meaning of it :)
I have said it before and I will say it again... the finish on this song is out of this world. I thought Bruce was going to pop his head clean off in the final chorus, and when Roy Z steps up next to him in the final few seconds with that beautiful background melody it is simply perfection. This song - and I mean particularly this live version - is one of the best things I have ever heard. Maiden is my everything and they will always have that special place, but I have to admit Bruce did some fantastic work with Roy Z.
@@Rowlph8888 Adrian only joined from Accident of Birth, but not as a primary song writer (which is not surprising since he is not that prolific a song writer for Maiden). Roy Z co-wrote like 9 of the 12 tracks on Accident. In fact, if you read Bruce's auto biography, he says he was going to retire after the Skunworks failure... then Roy Z called with ideas for songs, and together they composed a big chunk of Accident over the phone. Anyway, I dont agree that it doesnt compare to Maiden. I think Accident of Birth is one of the most underrated albums of all time. It is awesome from start to finish, and in my book, it outranks quite a few Maiden albums. Chemical Wedding is great too. As for Tears of the Dragon, it's one of my two favourite ballads.
Not that prolific a songwriter for maiden? He is the most prolific, after Steve Harris. Listen to the reality of the composition of songs he writes with Bruce, on senjutsu (described in interviews), and you will find that he creates most of the music and then the finishing touches, to the music are usually added with Bruce, and the lyrics arrived at together. Probably their best album "somewhere in Time", was written entirely by him and Steve Harris and it was commercially successful, primarily because of Adrian, who wrote the most commercially successful songs "wasted years" and "stranger in a strange land", entirely alone, as well as sea of madness (which is a compositional masterpiece (refer to "licks of the beast", on RUclips). agree that Reese's solo stuff is great, I love all of it, just as I love all of Adrian's new stuff that he has created with Richie Coxon (absolute masterpieces) and I loved ASAP stuff as well, which is equally underrated, 2 Bruce Turner stuff. I think you will find that once Adrian was part of the project with Bruce, he had a lot of input into the songwriting, especially the musical composition this is If you want an understanding of how great and innovative a songwriter, Adrian Smith is, listen to interviews made involving he and Richie Kotzen, from their recent collaboration.Richie frequently refers to the fact that Adrian brings the riffs for the songs in and then they hash out the rest of the song between them, he alrefers tto Adrians sense of innovation, about things he would never have considdered. With maiden, this is generally the case as well. Adrian is the master at developing songstructure and riffs. I like the "tears of the Dragon", but I wouldnt call it 1 of the greatest songs. As far as Roy is concerned, he is obviously incredibly technically proficient guitarist, but I would say that his solos, are great virtuoso compositions, but are lacking somewhat in melody, and fitting the mood of the song, compared to Adrian and Dave Solo's, with maiden, but particularly Adrians solos.
@@Rowlph8888 I just want to underline the main point I was making - since this has tangented on a quest to defend Adrian Smith in Maiden. My main point was his contribution to Bruce's solo stuff was minor. Practically everything on Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding (the two albums where he was included) was written by Bruce and Roy Z. Adrian is only credited only on a few tracks, and if you listen to Bruce himself he talks how Accident of Birth came to be (thanks to Roy's ideas). I think this is where Roy Z is truly masterful, and he has demonstrated this in other arenas than Bruce's solo stuff. He is an exceptional composer and guitarist. Now, that was my main point, and it holds. The rest I am not so interested in. I have no intention to put down Adrian. I like him, I think he is a great guitarist. Nor do I mind how you feel about Tears of the Dragon or his solo stuff in general. This was about how I felt about it. I will leave you with a few thoughts. Take them as you will. When I said Adrian was not "that prolific a writer for Maiden", I didnt mean he wasnt important. I certainly could have phrased it better. But I do think the second most important songwriter is Bruce. We can agree to disagree there, but you will find many albums where he contributed more, so it is arguable both ways. So is the notion that Somewhere in Time is Maiden's best album - but again, no need to argue individual taste.
SUCH a GREAT Version of TEARS !!! I almost cried because of the rush of emotion inside ! ,,,just cant get enough of it every day for the last 3 month ! ( I grabbed this one to be able to listen it inside my car ! ) Yeah !!!!
I love how Bruce changes the way he usually sings it to get in the same tune of the new version. And that's because he let his own song to be changed. I love this dude.
Confesso que nunca gostei de Iron Maiden muito menos do Bruce, Mas de tanto meu Namorado Escutar eu acabei viciando PQP as músicas possuem uma qualidade indescritivel ! MUITO BOM.
Yes, I love this beautiful song ❤ Amazing music, guitar solos. 👍 Bruce has a voice like a bell. I love his singing so much. Thank you , you are amazing ❤️❤️🌹🌹🎸🇨🇿
I LOVE how Bruce instantly adjusts the distance the microphone has from his mouth according to the intensity of his voice to produce almost a normalized result! Also, very jazz-like solo 5:16
Bruce is simply AMAZING! And for those who are comparing him to other vocalists let me tell you that besides he is one of the greatest singers EVER acording to many important people... Bruce is without a doubt one of the humblest guys in the metal scene ever...
this is one of the best live vocal performances I've ever seen of anything
I agree ... It's a vocal class
That’s Bruce Dickinson Iron Maiden’s lead vocalist.

This is the best version of this song. Amazing vocals and musicianship.
Years gone by but Bruce is still maybe the best singer.
Well..... not maybe! He's the best. Cheers!
this performance is so good it almost made me cry!!! Long live Bruce Dickinson and Roy Z for that amazing guitar solo!!!
solo doesn't compared to Maiden. Impressiive technically, yes, but lacks the melody of a Maiden solo
Me encanta como Roy z le hace el amor a esa guitarra❤y el bocal de dick es majestuoso.aca los q la escuchamos 2023-09-25
SUPER!! Bruce Dickinson after all this years on the road, and no sleep looks every time better and better!!

I hold this song as the one showing the capacity of Bruce's vocals the best.
