I have a dental bridge that was done expertly on the English NHS 35 years ago and it is in perfect condition. I have no decay and my gums are in perfect health.
Two weeks ago my doctor removed my bridge that lasted little over 30 years and now I have new bridge and I hope it will last for 10 or 20 years and I am happy.

Similar here, but, lost my 4 front bottom teeth, got a bridge in 1988, and other than a couple of small repairs around the gumline, it is totally fine, my teeth nearby haven't moved, and there is no decay in the supporting teeth. Good dental hygiene is key if you want a bridge to last.
I wish businesses would promote quality over quantity. You’ll have customers forever going that route. Dental implants can fail as well too just the same as bridges. It’s not about the material it’s about the person. If you’re a person that don’t take care of your teeth both will cause you issues.
ive had a dental bridge for more than 23 years without issues more than 9 teeth. on two bridges . getting them redone as I write this. Have had no decay what so ever.
I’m in the process of a dental bridge because I was not a good candidate for implants on my upper teeth. From the decay my sinuses are too low and I would need a sinus lift due to shrinking jaw bone then MAYBE I would have been able to get implants. I still was not a good candidate for that surgery due to numerous chronic illnesses so my dentist recommended the bridge for upper and I’m still doing implants on lower molars. It was the best choice for my case. The bridge will just need to be very well taken care of once in place (I have the temporary on currently)
I’ve had my six unit bridge for about two years now and have had no problems. I’ll brush twice daily with a soft bristle toothbrush, and I also use a water pic and Flossin string to get in between the bridge, which is from canine to canine six unit. my dentist expressed to me that if you take care of it, it can last a lifetime if you miss treated, it may last you between 10 to 15 years at most. and I am 55 years old so I am planning to die with this $6000 investment in my mouth.
@@eliotness100 im 22 and I got a dental bridge. Should i be worried. Any tips? I cant sleep because of the anxiety that my teeth is gonna rot from all of these people saying it wont last
Dental work, like any other complex healthcare service, is an large investment. To help with the monthly payments you can break it up through financing companies and there are sometimes dental insurance that can contribute towards that investment.
I'm thinking about getting a bridge. At first I was gonna do the implant but I don't like being put to sleep for cosmetic issues anymore. I've had a bad experience with anesthesia during an outpatient visit. I remember my heart rate increasing rapidly and I was blacking out while at home about an hour after my visit. I eventually fell asleep against my will in a recliner until the effects fully wore off. There were other times I've been put to sleep where I didn't have any issues with anesthesia whatsoever so I think it was an isolated event by a certain provider. I have the money for the implant but id rather do the least invasive procedure now.
I do agree wit him. I didn’t do my research when I went to get my bridge. The dentist sand out my perfect teeth around it and I wanted to cry when I saw it! 😡 Now, instead of replacing 1 tooth, I’ll have to replace 3 if something were to happen. It’s so stupid.
@@AlyssaDetroit My bridge is still here. I clean really good everyday. They say as long as you keep it clean, it can last decades. However, I would NOT have done it. O would just do an implant. I had it done in 2016 or 17
Have a traditional dental bridge across my front teeth after a failed root canal. Hoping for the best. But I brush daily, and use mouthwash. I had bone grafts done in case I need an implant in the future.
I'm so glad my father talked me out of a dental bridge. He has had 2 bridges and he regrets it because he damaged 4 perfectly fine teeth just to anchor 2 fake teeth.
In the Philippines single tooth implant is 4x higher than fix bridge. If I had money I prefer implant but what to do? 80 thousand is way big than 20k. Of you are considering fix bridge to replace a tooth denture, stick with denture. Atleast you can clean it everytime with no hassle compare with the fixed bridge
I’ve had a dental bridge done on my bottom row for over 8 years now and still don’t have an issue. I swish warm water and salt in my mouth a lot use peroxide and also have a water pic 😊
Thanks for your comment. I just had my second tooth pulled in 7 months just last week. The second last tooth at the bottom on both sides of my mouth. Needless to say it’s very depressing. I'm not sure about doing a bridge on one or both sides. One of the ladies at the dental office mentioned to me that it can always be a certain risk to use the adjacent teeth that are healthy as part of the bridge since those teeth have to be filed down to fit the crown/bridge. Now I’m not sure what to do. I’m thinking about just not doing anything. It sucks that it is both sides of my mouth.
@@justbrowsing8675 I have the same issue and not sure what to do either. Due to my rare autoimmune condition, hospital use of steroids, and then oral prednisone for the next 3 years, a dentist advised me against implants because he had patients who used steroids and had to come back to remove the implants due to sudden medical issues afterwards.
Everyone experience is different. Don't just not do it because one or others bad experience. There are also others who had good results. Everyone's dental situation is different
This dentist didn't talk about the other bridge that your dentist can do. It is called the "Maryland dental bridge" and my grandma had it for her tooth that was about 3 or 4 teeth from the front. They made her a prosthetic tooth and it was secured to the adjacent teeth with a wide strip of metal. It worked great for her all her life. They probably require a little maintenance every 5 years, but it is cheap and not a big deal. I hope this helps!
I am so glad to hear you are having a good experience with a dental bridge! There are many variables that go into each persons individual treatment plan. Biased on what you are saying it sounds like the dental bridge was a good choice for your specific situation. Here at Runion we provide individual treatment plans for each patient and sometimes a dental bridge is one of many good options.

Tooth supported bridges require your natural teeth to be prepared by removing important tooth structure from the connector teeth. This preparation is permanent and sometimes has severe consequences on the health and longevity of the natural teeth. Each patient has a unique clinical situation and we believe that the most important aspect of dental care is education to create understanding of the positives and negatives of each clinical treatment option. We provide a thorough consultation process to fully diagnose the problems, understand the goals of the patient and formulate multiple treatment options to reach those goals. We are committed to this process and ensuring that each patient fully understands all aspects of their treatment options.

It seemed like the right option for me but now I’m regretting and wondering if I can change course. I already started the bridge process. The dentist has shaved down the 2 anchor teeth which were totally healthy and normal looking and has put in a temporary bridge while my extractions heal. My experience before i even get to the video.. i get food under my bridge often.. have to use special flosser.. typically though i cant fkn get to it!! So now today i have an infection underneath and it must be closed because no matter what i do i cant get rid of it.. i know all the typical ways.. and this was from the best dentist ive seen in 42 years.. id listen to this guy if hes on par with this !
I think it's over to the patient, most people don't keep up 6 month hygienist appointments for cleaning and also a deep clean, all these people getting 'Turkey Teeth' in 5-10 years are going to lose all their teeth because they won't get them expertly cleaned and think they can get away with not cleaning and they get bone loss with gum recession and teeth will then wobble on the gum line - take care of your teeth ever more if you have crowns, bridges, veneers and implants as tartar and plaque love to stick onto these and you'll never be able to get into those gum pockets by your self at home

I still was not a good candidate for that surgery due to numerous chronic illnesses so my dentist recommended the bridge for upper and I’m still doing implants on lower molars. It was the best choice for my case. The bridge will just need to be very well taken care of once in place (I have the temporary on currently)
Bridges can last a lifetime it just depends on oral hygene and material being used
I’ve had my six unit bridge for about two years now and have had no problems.

The obstacle for a lot of the people is that the dental implant is very expensive.
Dental work, like any other complex healthcare service, is an large investment. To help with the monthly payments you can break it up through financing companies and there are sometimes dental insurance that can contribute towards that investment.
@@centerforheartconsciousliv9154a "who"er?😂

Sadly, this is only for the financially wealthy.

I've got my work cut out for me....choosing...one that is just not out to screw me over!!! ps....I have already thrown Thousands...out the window....dealing with the WRONG dental practices. I've had some of the worst!! It's upsetting!
During 2020 all of a sudden I had to have a tooth removed and then that year I had three more and was planning on doing implants. I got the first stage done with the cadaver bone on the stump. The last tooth he did he took the wrong freaking tooth out! and I had to go back within that same hour get poked again with needles and have the correct tooth take it out and he tried to charge me for it! I am absolutely terrified to go back I have not gone back and now I have huge gaps in my mouth, grateful they were all molars, so I have a rough time eating and speaking sometimes I'll even choke on my own saliva or food 😢I am too scared to even look for anyone to do anything because I'm afraid that they all talk to each other I'm blacklisted or something... so I was looking at videos on bridges the good and the bad I'm glad I saw your comment! Good luck finding a dentist to help you out! Damn those caramels! 😫🤦♀️
@@mamabearthrives7815 I can identify. Poor Us! I feel it's appropriate to say..."so sorry for your loss!!! And, yes, those Damn caramels!! Pearson's! Dear Lord! At this point...I don't let ANYONE touch my mouth...unless...I feel a great degree of certainty...in the prognosis...treatment....care shown, and skill. Not easy. Stay AWAY from the mills, and beware otherwise. Not too long ago, I was utilizing an independent...so to speak...dental office, in which they accepted 'dental discount plans'. I was thrilled...that it wasn't a chain. I thought...I had hit the jackpot....and could then....comfortably take care of my dental woes. WHAT a LESSON! They have to make up for it somewhere, right? Before I knew it....one tooth that needed endodontic treatment, and a crown....then....turned into....special xrays...where I had to travel to obtain, and pay big bucks....along with an implant...then a crown..instead of what I truly needed. Then...they wanted to give me 3 more root canals...and break...my lower bridge in half....place implants...and a new bridge...Can you imagine!! As I recall....the ...for lack of a better word...dentist...hardly even examined my mouth. Well, not in the traditional sense...no charting....no poking for pockets, etc.....They wanted to ...literally....make me a dental cripple...then....SHODDILY reconstruct. On top of THAT...the endodontist...was just coming back to work...part-time....after a nervous condition....which he relayed to me.... I felt so uncomfortable with ALL of it...told the dental/'owner...just that...paid my tab in full...and scooted out of there. NOTHING...but major disappointments....and money out the window....all throughout.... What's sad....is that I have had other horrific experiences throughout the years. I can't believe I still have teeth in my mouth. Best of luck....and beware...beware!!! Just terrible!!
