Great vid I like the trekking pole idea gonna try that with my bikepacking 1 tent will be a bit hard to get both sides though.

Had the Elixir 2 earlier and kept that included footprint when I sold it and bought the Hubba Hubba NX2 instead. As I remember the two tents got the same measures and it works fine. Better than the current MSR standard 2p tent footprint.

Elixir 2’s footprint seems larger then the medium universal footprint msr recommends for the msr hubba hubba nx now. They recommend the large universal footprint for the elixir 2. Wondering if the footprint fits perfectly for the hubba hubba nx 2 as you mentioned. Thanks!

@@inxlee Measured the included footprint for the Elixir 2 and compared with the provided measures for the MSR universal 2p footprint recommended for Hubba Hubba NX. The Elixir 2 included footprint is actually slightly smaller, both regarding length and width. But I think the main advantage with this footprint compared with the universal is that you have the metal grommets for the poles.

@@leifandersson8754 any issues when using the elixir 2’s included ground sheet with the hubba hubba 2? I’m guessing when you attach the inner of the hubba hubba nx2 the ground sheet will come “loose”? Yes too bad msr discontinued the older hubba hubba specific ground sheets with the same metal grommets as the elixir. Now only solution is to tie a loop with the current universal ground sheets which they also provided instructions on how to do so.

Oh yes I was asking you as I currently have a elixir 2 with the included groundsheet but was intending to buy the hubba hubba nx2 so wondering if I still needed to purchase the medium universal groundsheet

@@inxlee Then I think the Elixir 2 included footprint should actually be a better choice. This since it got the metal grommets for the poles.

lots of interesting thoughts. ive done many things similar. Im even doing the thing with the hiking poles, but it does not feel great because either it was a lot of tension or the fell down in strong gusts. still not sure how to improve it. Maybe weth some rope or smth...

I know what you mean, the hiking pole setup failed on me in Episode 16. We need to think of a way to attach the hiking poles to the tent poles - I'll have a go with some paracord the next time I use the tent. I don't know when I will next use it though because I've fallen in love with the Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 - it's just so robust and I feel so much safer in it...
