I like how they touch on "inadvertent" meaning, and how much joy Miller takes in it rather than pretending he knew all along or dismissing it. I feel true art is made not just by the artist but by the union of the artist and the viewer, it is an unspoken conversation between the two that happens through the act of creation and consumption.
perfectly said ❤
Yes, the same with book writing, the author has a conversation with the readers.
I think Director Miller would agree with you
its a fkin tragedy that furiosa was a box office bomb. its so incredible, and i really want to see another
Movie was weird. No wonder it bombed. It felt like the movie didnt flow
@@nikhilshetty4369 Mad Max weird? 🤔
@@nikhilshetty4369 filtered.
Mad Max 3 bombed hard in comparison to the previous two. Sure, there was like a 30 year gap between thunderdome and Fury Road, but I don't see how one flop would be enough to never make a sequel. This franchise is literally the backbone of post-apocalypse as a whole, and a major part of pop culture, being referenced time and time again. There'll be another.
@@chasemorr4110 I hope sooner than later, a 30 yr gap doesn't bode well for George miller 😭
Two legends talking
I like how Kojima really enjoys picking up moments where dialogue wasn't needed to tell the story, he worked a lot on this kind of narration for Metal Gear Solid 5 and it show !
Yeah it's pretty fascinating how receptive he is to this style of story telling when his games are usually exposition dumps. Id be very keen to see Kojima utilise visual story telling to a stronger degree. MGS V was a start but still inherited the baggage of the series. It's a good thing Hideo is receptive to continue learning as he gets older.
That's how cinema should be done and what all the masterpieces of this media have in common. Visual Storytelling
I love how this video has opposite subtitles, i've never seen something like that!!
I also really liked the tapestry analogy.
I miss Brain Structure!
It's building bridges with the opposite subtitles.
I love how this entire interview is just them praising each other
As it should be
It's so wholesome ❤
They’ve already pulled this from my local IMAX, so depressing. Such an amazing film.
And what are they showing?
I was fortunate enough to catch it in time. What a great film, I have to say it was worth the price of admission. Dementus was Chris Hemsworth's best performance I've seen so far.
You know George Miller has been quoted as wanting Kojima to make a Mad Max game. I feel like that could happen now.
I havent played Kojima's games and not sure if i'd enjoy death stranding tbh, but George Miller and Kojima working on a Mad Max game together would be an insane crossover
@@1991Q Kojima could definitely benefit from being kept in check but I also think his need to handle someone else's source material correctly could do that. I really want it to happen personally but given George's age and Kojima's current amount of projects in the works makes me think it won't. 😞
@@1991Q If you don't mind the graphics, I would HIGHLY recommend playing the earlier Metal Gear games.
My thoughts are similar to Hideo's in that I wish George could make movies FOREVER. We will ride eternal. Shiny and chrome!
this is so beautiful! i hope george is able to experience kojima’s work first hand, i would love to see what lessons he could potentially learn from his “student”!
there's a good video of him enjoying Death Stranding and George Miller makes a cameo in the Death Stranding 2 trailer

Kojima is really a genius, he pointed out symbolisms that even George miller didn't recognize in his own film.
You don't need to be Hideo Kojima to critically analyse someone's work in a novel way.
Better than any interview we could've gotten about the movie
A wonderful interview! Just out of the cinema. Now I understand why Kojima is such a fan. Some action scenes are almost like playing a third-person shooter. Amazing camera work!
And that transformation of the main character is really well done. It's not straightforward and has it's own phases: a lone wolf, a feminine phase and then - a machine.
George Miller said he would like to work with Kojima on a Mad Max game. Seeing how Death Stranding too is about a reluctantly-heroic loner passing through a post-apocalyptic wasteland I could see it working out well.
I would only be worried about Kojima Productions getting the vehicles right.
Hopefully it would be better than the dismal and tedious death stranding
Kojima x Miller to make a Mad Max trilogy game NEEDS to happen at some point.
Miller and Kojima. What a treat!
I love how the music in the trailer, also used at the very end of this video, is an orchestral arrangement of The Man Who Sold The World
That one saying right there. “Thank you for making it” is so true. He could’ve just carried on with his life. Yet he made another crazy film, and I’m grateful he did.
"You tell all these stories visually without relying on dialogue"
One of the few things Kojima has big trouble to do, that's why most of his games have a lengthy cutscene everytime he tries to explain something, he even went for audio tapes filled with dialogue in MGSV to explain the events.
He's still an awesome creator, i just hope he learns more about visual story-telling
Excellent interview. Two legends in one room. What a time to be alive.
George Miller is fantastic and I want him to continue to make the movies he wants to make that come from his head. Here’s hoping Mad Max Wasteland can actually release.
Kojima productions making a new Mad Max open world game with all the brilliant ideas from George, that's something in epic proportion.
They need to make a project together.
Very good video.
Kojima is seeing subconscious symbolism that Miller didn't even think about. Genius
Well, George in kojima’s game
Well George Miller recently said he wants Kojima to do a Mad Max videogame, and I can't imagine Kojima turning that offer down
Two legends coming together! Incredibly fun interview!!!
Amazing interview, as Kojima, I also hope Miller can make lots of more movies.
that ending was so sweet ❤
Love both these legends.
Two absolute masters of their respective crafts sitting down and giving us invaluable information about the process of storytelling for free. Both are legendary artists who I respect very much ❤
I really hope we get to see a KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS Mad Max videogame one day!
Omg the detail with the war rig going from one tank to two 😭
This interview put a big smile on my face. Two creative brothers indeed! Both appreciate a well told story, a lot.
Very interesting conversation of two masters in their field respectively. I see a game genius acting very respectfully and a groundbreaking filmmaker being humble. I admire them both.
I wanna hear them talk forever!
So much respect for each other
Congratulations to both.
Plus I do see some visual links between Death Stranding and Furiosa now.
How did I not notice this before?
I am so happy for you, Mr. Kojima!
Fantastic interview 👏
It's maddening to know i was there on the day of that premiere and didn't even know Hideo Kojima was a guest there, i'm a big fan😢
Kojima san absorbed everything for put it in his creations 🇮🇹💪
About to watch this movie today, looking forward to it!
Wow, a filmmaker uses all his elements to tell the story. Revolutionary 🙄
very strong opening storytelling example
Didn't notice the symbolism of the gloves yet. Kojima has good taste in movies.
The meeting of two brothers!
Denis Villeneuve nodding vigorously at the visual storytelling reference
Best video of all time
Honestly I could watch an hour of this.
I hope we get a new Mad Max video game sooner
Two legends ❤
We need a Mad Max game made by Kojima and Gorge Miller
Such perfect pair.
I love this so much
I love love all are legit storypoint question! no praise no vague

*WITNESS!!*
AWESOME
We need Kojima to make a Mad Max game.
Two Gods
Miller the innovator, Kojima the imitator
I don't think the music was loud enough during the interview.
Kings 👑
Please do a mad max game 😭😭
Kojima my Brother in Christ make a Mad Max game, Miller's already said he wanted you to do it!
Gimme a Wasteland game Kojima aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!
Great interview, could have done without the obnoxious and loud music though
