The Silents were raised through the Great Depression, but too young to fight in WWII, though the eldest Silents (males) did fight in the Korean War, while younger Silents fought in the Vietnam War. Baby Boomers get their name from the fact that the population "boomed" following the return of servicemen following WWII.
My ma and pops were both Silents, 1933 & 1940.
