I've been trying to find a solution to these similar issues. By far, this is the best video for these particular codes and a solution for it. Thanks brother and keep up the good work.

I vave a 2011 Cruze. Had to have the valve cover replaced when the car was about 2 years old. Then, about 2 years ago, I got a letter from GM that something on the cover was defective and they would pay for having it replaced. I just had to send a copy of my replacement invoice. If you are a Cruze owner, you shold look into this.

    Look up Service bulletin 19-NA-101.
It will probably be back in a few thousand miles with the valve cover diaphragm ruptured again because the actual PCV valve is hidden away in the intake manifold. That service bulletin will explain it further. It's a small plastic disk that eventually gets injested by the engine and disappears, which causes positive pressure in the crankcase which is the most common cause of that ruptured diaphragm on the valve cover. Other symptoms are excessive oil leaks, especially from the front main seal and the camshaft actuator seals, because of the positive pressure. The ruptured diaphragm is a symptom, not the root cause. The intake manifold most likely needs to be replaced.

That is not the problem, that is the symptom. The real problem is a tiny rubber valve in the intake manifold that fails and allows pressurized air to enter the crankcase and rupture that rubber membrane on the valve cover. The pressurized air is from the turbo charged intake manifold that is getting past the tiny rubber valve putting pressure in the crankcase. The smaller shinny ribbed plastic hose behind the valve cover should be popped off and you look straight down that tube. You should see a small red rubber disc that acts as a tiny one way valve closing when there is pressure in the intake manifold "boost". When that 5 cent valve fails or is consumed into the engine you will have these engine codes. The valve cover will have to be replaced But you need to order a kit to fix the 5 cent part. There are videos on this kit to eliminate the true cause of the valve cover problem. Hope the helps you.

Thanks for this video!! I have a 2014 cruse 1.4 liter, that has had so many repairs under warranty. Now I have this same issue. A squeaking belt sound & the check engine light is illuminated. But I noticed when the airconditioner is running the noise is louder & goes away when shut off. It also felt like it was loosing alittle power going up hill. Its going into the shop Monday & I will be asking them about the GM bulletin. Theres been so many with the Cruze. I love the way my Chevy Cruze rides but this 2014 1.4 liter has been in the shop too many times under 70 k. Since I'm a female car issues stress us out more than a guy.. :-)

1.8 regular engine is the better engine. But it will never be a Honda or Toyota.

Thanks for your video on 2014 Cruze LT 1.4 turbo check engine light. The only suggestion I would make is to add a cost estimate at the end of the video. Thanks so much!

Change the whole cover for a pcv valve . Real bad makers design . And a rip off . Manufacturers have made fortunes from a shit design . Scandalous . Pcv should be made removable . .

Could be low oil level, so check engine oil level and and possible need of oil change first but if oil level is good and oil is clean you will need to pull the vvt solenoid that is associated with the code and check for any metal shavings that will mean engine is going bad but if oil level good and no metal shavings it could possibly just need a new vvt solenoid

This the reason i dont let no mechanic work on my cars. This guy doesn't care aboutt the valve cover, just jank it and throws it to the side. Not caring if it gets scratched.

Please don't call that little hole on the cam shaft cover a PVC valve. It's not! It's not! It's not!!! It makes you look like do not know how a PVC valve operates. I don't mean to be spiteful but everytime I hear some say it's a PVC valve it drives be bonkers.
