That's a awesome video that reignites the czech pirc's flame that was dying inside my heart. I'm willing to give it another go ( currently peacefully caro-kanning my way up the rankings - the lower rankings that is ). By the way, I'm reading some comments here berating Levy Rozman. How uncanny is this ?! Are you all GM's already ??? Even if you were that would be a great attitude to have, but man, you must be very young, and not know your place. Some things, Magnus can say. But for us, better stay quiet and learn, don't you think so ? Thank you Chess Giant !
Glad to hear it! Ya the Czech Pirc Defense takes work in terms of getting good at it BUT can lead to some beautiful ideas and games. And ya... IM Levy Rozman is an INTERNATIONAL MASTER! Even hitting NM you're in the top 1% but IM?? This is much harder. It's easy to say he looks like a bad player when he is playing nothing but GMs. I hope he ends up getting the GM title I don't have anything against the guy.
Wondering if you have any videos where you compare/contrast the Czech Pirc and the "standard" Pirc? Is there any of that kind of discussion in the course? Thanks for all the videos you have posted, I've found them very helpful after getting back into chess after a looong absence.
I play this opening. It's great. White can challenge in some cases. The opening is underrated. Levy is overrated. Not trying to start an internet war but you come across as having more natural chess acuity than him. He just seems to regurgitate "stuff".
I don't think Levy is overrated, but he definitely does have some places to improve. When the opponent plays solidly with no intuitive way to break through, he tends to panic and blunder the position. GM Luis Paulo Supi took advantage of that and won almost all of his games against Levy. In fact, Levy himself takes advantage of this against his opponents by playing the Caro-Kann, which has a healthy mix of solidity and a couple tactics here and there. With that in mind, the Czech Pirc would probably be one of the best openings to use against Levy because it is super solid and not easy to break through for White, while also giving Black slow, steady progress.

I've bought your Czech pirc course and am currently going through it.
Happy to hear! Hope you enjoy it! The Czech Pirc Defense is a ton of fun.

This is a great video idrea! Thanks for putting this on my radar I'll look to get this released soon
Excellent video. Seems the Czech Pirc has some real teeth!
Fioruza beat Anand
Levy has been losing a lot lately. Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the opening.
That very good news. Crap player lost. Keep it up.

Levy is a mediocre chess player.
I wouldn't personally call him mediocre as he is an IM, but ya it's pretty easy to look bad when you're playing GMs every game.
@@TheChessGiant I use “mediocre” like synonym of medium, common or unexceptional. I mean, he plays well but his level is far from GM.
@@israeldiez1848 but you probably aren't even IM yourself so the Pirc would still be a decent opening.
