Bears wreck so much of my crap. They are a**holes. That's another reason I enjoy hunting them. Setting up a bait for first time ever this year. Great video again.
Never been to Canada but bears.in northern Maine and that was a monster to drop 50 ft from the bait with a bow. That thing probably pushing 600 lbs +. Beautiful bears. The fat clogs em up good, had one with a 2ft string of fat hanging out.
Technically yes. However, if you kill an animal large enough, you can also enter it into Boone and Crockett. Pope and young has a lower minimum entry score, while Boone and Crockett is higher.
@ that’s very interesting, thanks for the response! You’ve taught me something new today, I’m curious what the minimum entry score for Boone and Crockett is in Alberta with archery tackle
His body was enormous for a Canadian Bear in the spring. Nose to tail, he went 7' 8", and his arm span was 7' 11" toe to toe. He was over 400 Pounds in the spring, which is hard to find in northern Canada due to the long and extreme winters. A 500 Pound Spring bear is a once in many people's lifetime bear. And the Boone and Crockett Measurement for a Black Bear All-Time is 21", not 23".
Sitting at a food plot is like waiting at the hay bales for the cows to come in. Then throwing an arrow at them, and pretending on how difficult it was.
If it’s legal and they enjoy it then why would they care what you think about it? Clearly you haven’t spent much time around bears if you’re comparing them to cattle. You also obviously haven’t spent much time baiting bears (especially without an atv) if you think it’s easy 😂 it takes an incredible amount of work. Harvesting any big game animal with a bow and arrow is impressive and takes a lot of dedication and commitment.
Barrel baiting isn’t hunting. It’s similar to shooting fish in a barrel with a sore ass from sitting in a tree. Grizzly hunters know what I am talking about. It may be a lot of work but so is digging a ditch by hand.
Some hunts are more difficult than others but doesn’t mean it’s not hunting .. some people say unless you’re using a bow your not hunting . Traditional bow users could say the same for compound bow users . It’s all hunting , again some just more difficult than others
Over 5000 tags are sold to Americans in Saskatchewan alone , 2 tags for locals and the bear numbers are still climbing . They have a very heathy population so why not ..
When you think your deer hunting “meh” 😂 congratulations to the both of you STUDS!!
Thank you for sharing , nice video , greetings from Canada 👍🍁🍷🍻💕🌹🌸✌

I also hunt here In Maine season is just around the corner!
Just to clarify aren’t these Pope & Young black bears because they were harvested with archery equipment? Great bears! Congrats from Alberta

Huge punkin on dat big boy.

Looks like a 6 1/2 foot black bear to me and skull size looks well short of a 23 score for Boone and Crockett! Well short.

I think it depends if you were the one to do all the work setting up and refilling the bait. Just my opinion.
