Actually, the paint job looks decent enough for an engine bay. As you said, it's great practice for the body, where it really counts. I really enjoy your videos, so keep up the good work.
Don't worry about the cowl, its just a dust shelf that's hard to see when the hood is on. As for getting paint or clear coat into tight areas narrow down the spray pattern on your gun and increase the distance from the panel to the gun to avoid runs. Love the color 👍
I went to my local Wesco Autobody Supply and looked at their Lumacolor paint swatches. I made sure to go out into the sun. ONce I had some colors picked, I asked him to mix up 4 1/4 pint samples. He charged me for one pint. I don't know if they all do that, and mine only does it for the higher end basecoats. There are places online where you can order samples like Tamco paint where I got the Sublime Green and Candy Apple red. Good luck!
Voted lime green, but my 66 is apple red and so love the color. Runs in painting to too tough for me! Use razor blade to shave down. Sorry for past. Away catch your videos. Sometimes to busy to comment. You rock!
Matt consider using a touch up gun it's 1/3 the size of a regular gun and really for shooting that type of clear i've used a simple 18 dollar harbor freight one., and it worked great.
for thicker runs in paint a take a razor blade and blue painters tape and tape off the blade only leaving the width of the run open on the blade and that way when you scrape your not damaging the surrounding paint, then a simple cut and buff
Apologies if I missed this - are you running efi on the Bronco? If you are and haven't purchased yet, let me know. Not positive as I don't have first hand experience with sniper efi on a bronco (yet), but the original sniper had room for opportunity with throttle feel from idle. Sniper 2 addresses this (primarily had to do with vacuum).
HI. I'd love to run the sniper 2. I have the sniper on the scout and it is ok. I can see a lot of room for improvement on throttle feel. The Bronco has an EFI pump. Right now there is a carburetor on it, but when I finish it and drive it I will convert to EFI. It's easy for me because I already have the in tank pump and a regulator to drop it down to carburetor psi. Plus I've already got an o2 sensor bung in the exhaust. I just don'w want to drop the $3,000 on the sniper 2 (including CD box and distributor) until I get a chance to enjoy it. Unless of course there is a magic sponsor out there who wants to give me one!
I’m sure it looked cleaner the other way, but those filters already get overlooked, it hiding up there would make that and changing it so much worse! Keep up the great build. One day mine will get broken down and cleaned up to be as nice as yours is.

Thanks. I tired that but probably dialed down the paint flow too much. I'll try it again and keep the flow more than I did.
Love the color! Im starting to need to find a paint choice for mine and was wondering where you ordered samples from? thanks for sharing!

Looks great. I think we both are at the point that we just want these trucks to be done.
I was, then I saw the new toys. You get it though.

Looks great. Don't bother is my vote as you are building a driver. That being said... knock yourself out. Its all one gigantic learning process.
Luma base 924367. Thanks!

Love the red, what's that paint code. Looking for a red myself. Thanks
That filter doesn’t look like it will be fun to change once the body is on.
With teh body lift I think it won't be too bad. The AN fittings help.
Your comment haunted me. I changed the location. Thanks for looking out.
