They kinda screwed themselves by writing a really important character out of the first season :/
They just need to reboot it and give it another shot following the manga like Hellsing did.
Are you unfamiliar with how adaptations work? Characters get cut and vital details get changed, that's just how it works and there's no reason to assume that she wouldn't have been introduced later. The absence of the character had nothing to do with the series being cancelled, the production company went bankrupt.

@@steelthunder7782 I'd disagree without the anime I'd never have picked it up to read it, and the anime was great, no point being Manga elitist about it. Both were great versions of the story.
@@xxydot Well its not about elitism. It's that most of the time the anime versions cut corners or completly remove important plot point to condense multiple volumes in 23 episodes. Look at Tokyo Ghoul or Full Metal Alchemist (before brotherhood release). Honestly imo the only time I though ".Wow the anime version is better." is for Evangelion.

I could never get over deadman wonderland. It’s so good but never completed. It’s been a very long time since then but man the song is what I loved whenever I watch it
I mean unfortunately I think second half of the kinda drops off quite a bit especially the break out and the epilogue weren't up to the same quality of the rest of the series
