    A musical composition of absolute genius and talent. As an ex-music teacher, I used this theme to teach both the origins sought from histrocial German marching tunes from WW2 plus the layering of musical composition. At the time, my students hadn't even watched the film, let alone heard this theme. Ron Goodwin was a compositional titan of his time.

  • @richaroodledoodle
    @richaroodledoodle 4 года назад +21

    This piece of music by Goodwin totally captures Germanys pride and they're mind set of total invincibility at the eve of the battle of Britain . Pure genius and ironic to think that a Brit composed it . .

    My dad took me to see this in the theater when I was 6 years old..stupid little kid I was, I had no idea what World War 2 was about, or the politics involved, I just thought the planes were cool as hell. Today, I enjoy the film for entirely different reasons. About this great march: in the context of the film it's the Luftwaffe's theme, but Ron Goodwin said that he wrote it to honor the combatants on both sides.
