I love this tribute to RUSH! Who knows maybe they will do 2112 or Hemispheres in the future! Here’s an explanation to a friend regarding RUSH, Time Signatures, and Neil Peart in particular: Enjoy: RUSH is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of the fluidity of MASTERING TIME SIGNATURES! I play drums and there are a few things that you need to know about Neil Peart’s ( pronounced PEER-T) character: First he writes the lyrics so he knows in advance what TYPE of song it’s meant to be ie ballad, driver, etc. Second he COMPOSES on the drums… like a carpenter who looks at a set of blueprints before building the object. Neil lays out a SKETCH in his mind of the VOICES of the drumset and builds the song from there. He is also a great LISTENER knowing when NOT to step over Geddy’s singing or Alex’s solos! Finally, he had perfect timing and fluidity of time changes. He said himself that it’s not about COUNTING the time signatures as much as fluid motion to change the tempo without counting: in other words it should FLOW! He hates repeating the same drum patterns in the same song meaning if he plays a fill one way the first time around he will play it differently the second time around. IE. Rolls down the toms the first time around and triplets or quads (all four limbs) the second time around. In short there will NEVER be another like him on planet earth 🌍 🌏 🌎! REST IN PEACE PROFESSOR! My hats off to Les Claypool and Primus, a fantastic reproduction of A Farewell to Kings by Rush. Using the same instruments Rush used, and the Primus percussionist, really studying and doing a fantastic job for Neil Peart’s Percussion!! That was such a rad tour!!! I got to see them in Berkeley. Bought tickets the day they went on sale in early 2020… damndemic messed shizzle all up, so was relieved to FINALLY see them (had VIP tickets so meet-and-greet was a mighty fine treat!) in 2021!!!
In Troutdale they didn’t play Lacquer Head, Clown dream, Jilly, Eclectic Electric, Jerry Was A Racecar driver, or Prof Nutbutter. But they had Mr. Krinkle, Seas Of Cheese/Kashmir tease, Fisticuffs, The Seven (I think) and a couple others
Amazing times we live in to have a pocket device without too much distortion and clipping.. and also speaks volumes to the quality of the live sound and their ability to have each instrument clear!
I was so pissed that they canceled their opening acts. I wasn't able to get there until 8:45, which by that time they would have only been through 1.5 of their opening acts. Instead, they were halfway through their entire set. I was thoroughly disappointed that nothing was said prior
Thanks so much for this quality upload! Super excited to see this concert and glad to see they're incorporating Brain era tunes these days. There is one item of concern... Was there no drum solo? I realize that playing Rush is impressive in itself but I'm still hoping to see Herb get a moment in the spotlight. His solos are sick
I love the way that “interrupt” Blue Collar Tweekers to do a slowed down, more groovin’ version of Lacquer Head: “My eyes are growing weary as we sodomize this song” lmfao
Primus is kickin'! But where are, To Defy The Laws of Tradition, and Jerry Was a Race Car Driver, and John The Fisherman??? And if you're going to do an entire Rush album, why pick A Farewell to Kings? Big Primus fan here, but I think I'll pass on this one and wait for a chance to see them perform an entire concert of their own songs.
Like, I am glad I can watch this kinda shit from the comfort of home, but I also REALLY miss the days of not seeing cell phones at concerts. Such is the juxtaposition of life.
The Salad Fingers clips are perfect for Primus

im so jealous of you i recently got into them by chance when i picked up Exit Stage Left on a whim
haha i went to this show at the les schwab ampitheatre in bend oregon. fantastic concert. when they played xanadu i swear i went to heaven for a second
Wow, dead crowd. Just went to the show Sunday night in Portland, Maine and the crowd was INSANE! Crazy mosh pit almost the whole show.
had a friend who went, sounds like it was crazy cold, windy, and rainy. he had lawn seats and they let everyone on the lawn at least come under the pavillion
Primus crowds are usually mellow idk I prefer to sit and watch them I might be weird but idk thats the vibe I like with them
@@jkruchert1 Weird. Ive seen them like 5 times and the place is always crazy.
Was windy af there and it was pouring when I went
Yeah the weather was complete shit that night. Pretty much the first cold night of the season complete with rain and crazy winds. I was in The pavilion near the pit area and I still got soaked. Great show regardless 🤷
This show was super cold and rainy but we didn’t care. This set was absolutely incredible. Primus always delivers
Never thought I'd hear Alexander do Antipop songs.
*ANTIHERB/ALEXPOP=SUBERB/PLEASE ANTISTOP*
Frizzle fryd til i ANTiDiEd... oh, myyyyyyy
FAREWELL Neil Ellwood Peart.. We shall FOREVER hail thee KING.
p.s. if you have NOT read Neil's books, GET TOO IT, ya little snappers ~, ; }>
@@Chooowe what the hell happened

I saw Primus about 4 years ago now. I love that they are still using those mind blowing visuals!
Good job. Suprised by sound quality! Not what I'd call HQ but damned impressive.
*_thanks!_*
Tripping ballskis and you've got me at the show... FOREVER.., 🙏🤟
Good ol' Saladfingers!!!!!!!! Perfectly paired with Primus.
Thanks for recording and posting this!
I found it incredible how accurate Les' Geddy Lee voice was. I think Les was a better singer while doing his voice too, just in general.
He was singing pretty great but definitely not anyway near Geddy's vocal range, saw 9/5/21 show
@@jacksterattacks8326 yeah, but I still couldn't believe he chose to sing like Geddy.
im sorry but he sounds like geddy’s failed abortion lmao
@@bigblueassbaby9074 ok I rewatched this vid and I could've sworn he sounded better than this when I went to a concert
@@poob2372 You were caught up in the moment, it was better than this recording because you were there!
This was fantastic show, rain, wind, cold it didn't matter, they flat out jammed, and the Farwell to Kings album was spot on.
The audio on this is killer
Amazing times we live in to have a pocket device without too much distortion and clipping.. and also speaks volumes to the quality of the live sound and their ability to have each instrument clear!
I was at the Houston show ! ... Loved every second of it
Awesome! Great audio , felt like I was there👍
kick ass!! thank you! was cold and rainy..
THANK YOU! I wanted to go, but wasn't able to....glad I get to hear it, but wish I had been there
I was there, front and center. Stood next to a 6' tall Oompa Loompa all night.
Wow..didn't expect Set ll
Very Cool, Very Well Done!!
Hard to believe..
And yet not so much with the talent this 3pc. PRIMUS contains
i was at the Orlando show.....it was simply the best show ever
I saw em on my birthday, such an amazing show
Thanks Guy!!! its AMAZING!!! Is my dream see primus live!
Thanks for posting! I was at night one and it was awesome. So happy you uploaded this so I can hear what else they played
It was an honor to go to this concert
You ficking got to see bastards!?!?! Look at my set i went to aug 13 22 gerald r amp it sucked except for defy
The sound is awesome! Great job!
Awesome upload. Thanks to,your freezing hands!
THANK YOU!!🙃💙💙💙💙💙💙🙏
Primus did a great job covering Rush. My to favorite bands in one package!
Thats two!
I was so pissed that they canceled their opening acts. I wasn't able to get there until 8:45, which by that time they would have only been through 1.5 of their opening acts. Instead, they were halfway through their entire set. I was thoroughly disappointed that nothing was said prior
so why did you guys dip on Minnesota. Home to a multitude of music venues lol...
They should probably start paying David Firth royalties by now
Digging it big time man!! Thanks for posting! Cheers🍻✌
Wow! I love this version of lacquer head.
Psychedelic! SICK! Les is so creative and crazy on that bass.
Love the name 😂
Saw this show in Houston! Was my little brothers first show, for sure one I won’t soon forget.
Me and my wife were there also, in 2nd row
Dude awesome vid! Great show as always🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Wish i could've been there. Amazing as always!
I love the way that “interrupt” Blue Collar Tweekers to do a slowed down, more groovin’ version of Lacquer Head: “My eyes are growing weary as we sodomize this song” lmfao
❤thank you!
Love it when they open with this one... (or Any one, really. Js.)
planning on seein em in miami may 3rd 8pm, hype asf
Primus is kickin'! But where are, To Defy The Laws of Tradition, and Jerry Was a Race Car Driver, and John The Fisherman??? And if you're going to do an entire Rush album, why pick A Farewell to Kings? Big Primus fan here, but I think I'll pass on this one and wait for a chance to see them perform an entire concert of their own songs.
Love Rush and Primus, but goddamn Les' vocals definitely make you think twice about saying Geddy has a hard time singing post 2000s.
I saw them in Bonner and they were fucking awesome. My first concert ever
Amazing! Thanks for sharing it!
Sick, visuals suit the audio well. what a show!
Lifetime member of Primus Sucks Club!!!! Yeeaaah!
Wow
Like, I am glad I can watch this kinda shit from the comfort of home, but I also REALLY miss the days of not seeing cell phones at concerts. Such is the juxtaposition of life.
Also, starting a show in Michigan with Blue Collar Tweekers is perfect.
I love the rusty spoons & primus
If I'd Known that this was not just a Rush tribute, I would of gone.
Man this takes me back :D
This is so great. Thanks for doing this.
We have the same profile picture. I was at this show. This is a sign.
These guys make an all-right cover band, I guess. ;)
