My read on this so far, speculation purely my own:
The major trick this episode is pulling is admitting to the nature of the games in a way that is supposed to distract you from that admission. By throwing the Knox's rules into the mix, the witches have made it abundantly clear (to me at least) that none of these have actually happened. They're all hypotheticals designed to be narratively engaging, otherwise the rules of narrative and genre could not be seriously applied to them. Before the possibility still existed that Beato was literally remixing the souls of the dead in an eternal and material kind of hell. No longer.
If these games have to follow the rules of stories, then they ARE stories. And if they are stories, then they are built primarily to convey ideas. So whose ideas, and for whom? In essence, this could ALL be a metaphor for Ange, or indeed, for anyone speculating on the events of the island from afar, something that was always possible but now seems almost impossible to refute.
But by using that truth to upset Battler's and the reader's sense of comfort and rhythm, the witches are working to make us all short-sighted to its implications. My question then is: are they being hostile for the same reasons that Beato was? Does their cruelty serve a purpose in driving us closer to the truth as hers did?

I just realized... Natsuhi's imaginings of Kinzo always make him positive/caring compared to any other interpretation weve seen, and i think i know why. Natsuhi is one of the few who had lived with Kinzo before he died, yet also didnt grow up with Kinzo as her father like Kraus and his siblings did. She did not expirience the type of childhood abuse his direct children suffered from at Kinzo's hands. Just compare Kinzo's speech about how he wished Natsuhi was a man so shed be the family head to the absolute scorn he had towards Eva for being "too much like a man" for wanting to go to college in the chapter 3 flashback. It shows how, even when you think you know someone, you may not see them at their worst, clouding your view on that person.

    Spoilers for this stream
Killing Sakutaro was the worst thing Rosa did but I think fabricating a reason to get mad at Maria so she thought it was her fault that they couldn’t go to bellsneyland is a close second!! I guess what strikes me so much about it is the calculated nature. I guess it being premeditated adds to the horribleness to me quite a bit.

Given the rules of witches so far it is completely possible that gohdatrice does exist and his attempts at being admired and seen are just a means of building up enough charisma to override the high antimagic toxic and carry out his influence

It took many months, but I have finally fallen past the point of no return. Not only am I creating Umineko OCs, I am developing their lore. Forgive me, the blue declaration of creating Umineko OCs has swallowed me whole
1:58:35 yeah I’m really starting to suspect that my early theories could be true, just with the wording of Battler taking a role of anti-fantasy and anti-mystery. One where every truth is laid bare, the heart is not lost in who’s innocent or guilty
5:00:44 I mean, it is completely possible for someone to become their own grandpa just through remarriages, so it is completely possible without time travel if we are willing to believe Kinzo would impregnate someone who is at least legally his daughter. But does the whole seeing things with love need to be extended to our western otaku?
Given the color approval I may keep it that way, but I’ve definitely been developing it to be more chuuni, and the only colors I know I must keep are the whites of the fur, blue of the eyes, and the pink+green highlight as I remember there originally being two other similar plushies and one wore a bean necklace of those colors

Every time you show a clip from the anime I get sadder and sadder that it apparently sucks, because it looks like it could be so good. It has so much potential and from what I understand it just doesn't pull it off. Oh well.
Great work as always and thank you so much again for doing these

This is moreso pattern recognition than an actual theory, but the first 4 chapters each focused on one of the four adult women: Natsuhi, Rosa, Eva, and Kyrie. Considering chapter 5 is going back to Natushi, I think each woman is the culprit for every 4th chapter, so Natushi is the culprit for chapters 1 and 5, Rosa is the culprit for chapters 2 and 6, Eva is the culprit for chapters 3 and 7, and Kyrie is the culprit for chapters 4 and 8

Here's my theory. I think Battler and Shannon were secretly Lovers before Battler's mom past. Battler promised to get Shannon out of Rokkenjima so she could have a normal life, but his mom died and then the whole thing with Rudolf happened, then he went to be with his Grandparents, where over 6 years, He slowly forgot about his promise to Shannon because of haterd for his Father, which left her open for that asshole we call George. But hey, that's just a theory. A UMINEKO THEORY, thanks for reading!

I wouldn’t think too much about that. It’s a reference, definitely, but Higurashi doesn’t play into Umineko too much beyond references.

@@NezumiVA what about Bern mentioning that she was stuck in the other endless game before?

Like I said, it's a reference. But Umineko and Higurashi are entirely separate stories.
