They could be categorized as press ons but are made from get instead of cheap plastic and built with a specific amount of strength like being thicker at the apex and thinner at the cuticle where regular press ons are the same thickness through out so they dont look as natural and pop off way faster
This is a gel extension lol it’s called “Aprés” and its a soak of gel tip adhered with gel. The tip is made of gel AND plastic. I use it when I need it and they’re reliable, sturdy, and easy to use. Press on nails from CVS or Target are all made if cheap, flimsy plastic. Gel X is a lot thicker than those and not just all plastic.
Exactly! Usually in Europe and Russia you build the extension with clear building gel and those does not come off unless you file them ,she got scammed
Cool to see; you definitely got duped on that price tag tho 😬 i’ve done this to myself for about $6. And if acrylics are done from a skilled tech that forms them and uses a monomer that is Formaldehyde free; acrylic comes off just as easy as gel polish
Most nails will start lifting or peeling after 2 weeks and thats just because of normal nail growth. If your nails dont need a fill after 2 weeks your nails arent healthy and you shouldnt be wearing product anyways

What most people think is “damage” and weak nails after the enhancements actually is a good thing. When the nail is bendy and softer after the extensions are removed its because the nail is full of moisture thats been trapped under the extension,it means that the nails are softer because they are so moisturised, after a couple of day or even less they go back to normal and are completly healthy, just like after u come out of a bath and ur nails seem “weaker”.
I’m sorry, but this is categorically false. Bendy, soft nails after extension removal means that the dorsal layer of your nail plate has been filed almost if not completely off-your nail should have some give to it, sure, but it should not be anywhere near soft. Moisture, by design of any given nail extension, CANNOT get trapped beneath the artificial material if the nail is prepared properly (excess cuticle removed, nail plate dehydrated and primed) and the product is apply correctly. Trapped moisture results in only two things: green, moldy nails, or premature lifting and detachment of the extension. I have not once in my career as a nail tech heard from a reputable source that bendy nails mean trapped moisture. Just so we’re clear, I mean none of the above as a personal attack. I have no idea where you heard this, and I assume you made this comment in good faith. However, people have liked it, and I can only assume that means that they’ve taken this information for fact, and felt obligated to speak up. Your nails should not feel any different when your tech removes extensions than when they put them on, and if they do, damage has been done.
They are not gel extentions, these are full cover tips with a gummy base. There is no construction with a gel. Gel is also a kind of acrylic, like acrygel or polygel. Nothing damages your nails if your technician can use a drill in the correct way. Buffing the surface of the nail doesn't damage the nail because we aren't taking off any layer of the natural nail, it's about taking off the shine. When you do full cover tips you should also buff the nail or the treatment won't last a couple of weeks. Gel extentions are usually done with a nail form, acrygel and polygel can be used with both a nail form and a dual form, acrylic powder can be used with a nail form or with some nail tips. Every material is good to cover the natural nail or repair a broken nail. Acrylic is lasts the longer and gel lasts less, while acrygel and polygel are in the middle becouse they're a mix of acrylic and gel. The only bad thing about acrylic is the smell of the monomer, but the right nail tecnichian knows some tricks to make the smell really soft. They asked you too much money to be honest in Italy where I live you could get better full cover tips than those for max 30€ which is 28$. Beauty Insider is not the right name if you don't know these things.
These tips are gel. I do my own nails and gel x nails do not use forms. It uses full cover GEL tips that soak off with acetone like nail polish. Last a month for me
I saw ur nails after take off. It was little bit damage at (5:12). Ur nail bed turn red much more regular. You can compare to other nail. It was hard for every body check if healthy or not. I m nail technician. Not too long, but I have enough information about gel, duping powerder (SNS, NEXGEN,...), and acrylics nail. It is good when we have people review nail products. However, I hope can see you can research more information about product. Additionally, in ur video you said ur nail last 3 and half week. That was great! All companies, that made supple for nail, recommend their product need to redo after 2 and half hand half week. You said ur nail have just leak little bit near by cuticle. You were so lucky because you didn’t get fungus. Little bit leak can cause hold water and making very good place for fungus growing. This video is good but need more information compare gel, dipping powder and acrylic.
or.... you could buy builder gel, clear full cover nail tips, base coat/ top coat, and a mini lamp from amazon for literally 1/3 of the price and do it all yourself!
If you do this you should buy the apres gel-x or kiara sky nail tips because they are soft gel rather than acrylic so they will actually bind to the base gel
I've been using this for two years and I do them myself. The kit with everything you need is only a little more than the salon and it lasts a long time. Many sets are provided,
I’ve got horses and am rough with my nails but when I tested them out on myself (I’m a tech so I do my own) I easily got 10 weeks and refilled once as I have slow growing nails and never had any lifting or problems and all but one client shifted over to these from acrylic as they felt more comfortable and found them more flexible and durable. I also use them for making my press on sets too :)
This way of applying press ons is so easy, why would you go to a salon & pay $120.you buy the kit for &144 apply them your self & you have nails for month !
Young Nails has a video explaining the chemistry to gel tips & that it’s not possible to make tips from gel. Just get nails with made with gel instead of acrylics & have them back filled if you’re looking for something healthier for your nails
I absolutely love gel...acrylic and nail salons damage my nails so I started doing my own with gel press one for like $20. Gel press one last way longer then glue they come off when you are ready to. Take them off💕💕💕
If you peel and pick your own nails, that falls on you. If you go get your nails cleaned up and they over file then you have a bad nail tech. There are so many cool tools to make sure you get down to the base coat at ease. Other options is to file down and soak off.
Just curious what tools are good for nail extension removal for getting down to the base coat? I do mine at home and just file down and soak off but I really don't like filing once I get down closer to my natural nail
I got a kit to do these by Beetles for $20! It included a mini lamp, 500 nail extensions, and the nail glue. I’ve had these for 3 weeks and they are still going strong! They were super fast to apply even though I am not a professional. I just started asking my own nails because the salon is expensive.
Im a nail enthusiast😁 and I’ve been wearing nail extensions since 7th grade lol so I love all of the new technology and nail trends emerging. I love a good gel set but Im also open to trying new methods. Some methods are more expensive than others but when you are a nail enthusiast such as myself, its legit a part of your self care/pampering routine and soo much fun.
The nail is supposed to be buffed or filed a little bit to make it product stick if not they pop of supper fast. For you, you were going to take them of at 3 weeks but normally people go like every 4-5 weeks, I would imagine they would be mostly fallen off. Also acrylic isn’t supper bad for you. It’s the tech and the way they remove and prep that can be super damaging.
There is no chemical called "gel". Gel is another form of acrylic. Don't be afraid of good quality that is not cheap acrylic. Besides whether you use liquid and powder (acrylic) or gel system ( like the one in the video ) you need a good technician for the application.
I actually get gel extension all the time at Jasmine Spa Nails. And they actually do a lot better job, and last longer. I haven’t had one fall off when I have them on for over a month. 100% recommended to go there for a better price

They literally ripped you off and didn’t even do the procedure right. I had mine long, lasted 3-4 weeks with designs on each fingers & way more crystals.
I once went to a place to get acrylics, and instead of putting the plastic fake nail on my nail first, they put the acrylic solution RIGHT ON TOP OF MY NATURAL NAIL! My fingers hurt for two weeks after getting them removed and I regretted getting them done. But now I will try getting gel nail extensions.

Bro the amount of toxic acrylic nail worshippers in the comment section right now 😂😂 Guys this video is meant as an alternative it’s not about the design!! And you can choose the length you desire.
Apres nails are actually very good & durable i don’t know why there’s people upset everything relies on the prep before actually putting the nails on. Their tips are hybrid so they’re a lot more sturdy than regular full cover tips (they don’t bend... at all.) & even better than the KS tips which do bend a bit. Tips come pre-shaped & in box by length almost $30 each so yes it’s a pricey service but it’s completely worth it
Y’all just repeating yourself, we get it “bad nail prep is bad for your nails” but what about removal? I’ve heard countless stories of people getting their nails done beautifully then they go back to the shop and they don’t soak them off long enough. Many people have said they’ve had their nails basically pried off. Yes, both of these things are caused by bad nail techs but none of you seem to acknowledging the fact that there a multiple reasons a nail extension could damage your nails
From my experience gel x nails have been more damaging. The constant soak off, filing to put them back on just wasn't it for me and made my nails weak. My gel x nails never fell off tho even after a month. From my experience my nails are healthier after acrylics.
I purchased the soft gel tips out of curiosity and I ended up loving them. Over filing and the nail glue are just awful, I normally use a base gel and even hybrid gel to stick them on. Soak off to remove.
Honestly it’s just the technician, I asked for an acrylic soak removal and some miscommunication happened. This old dude used another acrylic nail to peel my acrylic off. SO PAINFUL. And I asked him to keep my nail. He thought it was unladylike and the lady next to him told him to keep it cus it’s my choice. He didn’t of course. My nails had WIERD white scratches for 3 months. He ruined them.
The price is fair! From a person who do nail it not easy like Yall saying. If you going to a salon you paid for the place and materials and talents. I use to think the same but when i start doing my nails it hard af!
I use the kiara sky gel tip system that’s exactly like this $120 is about how much the whole kit cost so that was definitely a rip off and also the nail still has to be buffed for it to even stick properly I have had mine on for longest maybe a month and almost a half woth no lifting. It’s a great kit and system for those who want to do their nails at home

My nails are very thin without any type of nail polish or extensions. But they don’t seems brittle. Just very flexible. I think that’s what she is trying to say.
@@audriannaberegszaszi9875 wait... Nails can bend?
Nero mine do since they are so thin. Especially after spending an extended amount of time water
@@Vlad2319 nails are supposed to bend. When they're properly hydrated and healthy, they should bend instead of snapping or splitting
acrylic is not damaging your nails y’all are damaging your own nails by removing them wrong
what do you say is the correct way to remove them
first you have to clip down the length as much as you can and you can either use a nail steamer or soak them in nail polish remover and then scrape of the acrylic
kkamazing period Pooh
Your coment deserves more credit people always only want to blame the tech but they rip them off and remove them in the wrong ways also ive seen people use them as tools like to open their cans of drinks or use then to do things with they r not tools they are nails
@@voodooqueen7914 I need to be able to use them as tools. Like the can opening 🤣 and also for parting my little girls hair when I'm doing her hair 🤣
Why did she pick the ugliest design
How did they even have that as a damn design to choose from ...
Ok guys relax it’s just a design while y’all gotta be so rude
ikr lmaoooo
Everybody has different taste you don't have to hate on her for what she likes.
What’s funny is that she just paid $120 at a nice ass nail salon for what is known as “the lazy girl method”😂
I was thinking the same!
This isn’t the lazy girl method
This is quite literally the definition of LGM...
I would be so pissed if they asked me to pay that much for those!
OMG, I bought myself the cheapest kit I found on Amazon for $13.99 and did them myself. Can't say I nailed it the first time ( like one nail after the other kept falling off in less than s week of doing then) but after long practice they are good. Is been a week, and everything is good for now.
Sis, these are press ons !! I thought you were getting sculpted gel nails- that’s what comes to mind when you say gel nail extensions, not this.
They could be categorized as press ons but are made from get instead of cheap plastic and built with a specific amount of strength like being thicker at the apex and thinner at the cuticle where regular press ons are the same thickness through out so they dont look as natural and pop off way faster
If you listen to the video the tech says their soft gel extensions the other type of gell extensions is the one you sculpt
Natalie Summers thank you for some actual logic
This is a gel extension lol it’s called “Aprés” and its a soak of gel tip adhered with gel. The tip is made of gel AND plastic. I use it when I need it and they’re reliable, sturdy, and easy to use. Press on nails from CVS or Target are all made if cheap, flimsy plastic. Gel X is a lot thicker than those and not just all plastic.
Exactly! Usually in Europe and Russia you build the extension with clear building gel and those does not come off unless you file them ,she got scammed
The design is awful
SailorSerenitySaturn the girl probably picked them
Yel
I like it actually
SailorSerenitySaturn Ikr! 🚫
SailorSerenitySaturn no one asked
Cool to see; you definitely got duped on that price tag tho 😬 i’ve done this to myself for about $6. And if acrylics are done from a skilled tech that forms them and uses a monomer that is Formaldehyde free; acrylic comes off just as easy as gel polish
The prep for an acrylic extension and a gel extension is the same. The nails could have last longer if the tech buffed the natural nail plate.
That thumb nail was like, “IGHT, Imma head out.”
And here I was, trying to figure out what you meant, then I realised I was thinking of the wrong " thumbnail " 😂

$120 and they fell off in the shower, nope ! Rip-off, 3 weeks of wear ? And she though it was worth it. 🙄
It was after 3 weeks that it fell off
@@gabbyk2808 it was after 3 weeks
@@nurshah the one peeling at the bottoms side was day 3 that’s what I’m referring to
Most nails will start lifting or peeling after 2 weeks and thats just because of normal nail growth. If your nails dont need a fill after 2 weeks your nails arent healthy and you shouldnt be wearing product anyways
Lol she is rich
I have been getting gel extensions for a while now ..magnolia my nail tech charges 65 that includes design ...when i first came in her store i was speculating if I was making a right choice because I have gotten acrylic for long time .I had okay nail techs but I never had one who put nail strengthen and a primer ...so she is awesome and I love the gel
go to walmart and get press on nails for less than 5 dollars.
yo even those expensive sometimes😭 lmao
Go to your local beauty supply store and get them for 2 dollars
Se leer en inglés pero no hablarlo bien, pero las uñas postizas no son sanas, acumulan moho y humedad, lo que propicia la producción de hongos.
Thrift store get them all crusty 😩
Right! Or even dollar tree!!
💯
These tips are gel. I do my own nails and gel x nails do not use forms. It uses full cover GEL tips that soak off with acetone like nail polish. Last a month for me
Gel nails is looking good..but design is not
I saw ur nails after take off.
$120 for those sloppy nails? No thanks
or.... you could buy builder gel, clear full cover nail tips, base coat/ top coat, and a mini lamp from amazon for literally 1/3 of the price and do it all yourself!
If you do this you should buy the apres gel-x or kiara sky nail tips because they are soft gel rather than acrylic so they will actually bind to the base gel
I like the static nail pop off press ons. No damage but interchangeable
Stunning?!! Subjective!!!
You can do this at home for a fraction of a price. I use Kiera sky products
me too i love their gelly kit and nails lady me like 3 weeks
I've been using this for two years and I do them myself. The kit with everything you need is only a little more than the salon and it lasts a long time. Many sets are provided,
I’ve got horses and am rough with my nails but when I tested them out on myself (I’m a tech so I do my own) I easily got 10 weeks and refilled once as I have slow growing nails and never had any lifting or problems and all but one client shifted over to these from acrylic as they felt more comfortable and found them more flexible and durable. I also use them for making my press on sets too :)
The the thing there using is the apre gel kit the kit all together is 150 with 500 pieces so 120 is a rip off
It looks like what they're really paying for is the nail design, but it doesn't even look good imo. Tbh it just overpriced press on nails
But the people who did that have to be paid as well
This way of applying press ons is so easy, why would you go to a salon & pay $120.you buy the kit for &144 apply them your self & you have nails for month !
lixx lizards is poly gel easy
And its $99 on Nail Labo lol
I'm interested in this product but i don't think the actual nails are gel, they seem to be the standard plastic which I'm trying to stay away from
My natural nails have always been long. They might chip here and there. But if I just take care of them .I save Alot of money.
acrylic is not bad for your nails. as long as your nail tech preps and removes the nails properly, there should be zero damage.
That’s design is not cute boo💅🏽
120 is the price for gentrified manicures. You can get a really good manicure for a third of that price in regular nail salons.
Gel is definitely not another form of acrylic. They are completely different that can be used for the same thing.
Gel definitely isn’t another form of acrylic. It’s another type of resin, but it certainly isn’t acrylic.
I do this kinda of nails at work and a full set is about $55 and they last for a very long time.
I actually get gel extension all the time at Jasmine Spa Nails. And they actually do a lot better job, and last longer. I haven’t had one fall off when I have them on for over a month. 100% recommended to go there for a better price
All nail extensions are damaging when they’re applied poorly and ripped off
Everyone here needs to calm down
Right?? Lol girls are so quick to call their self a feminist but are hella mean to other females
🤣🤣🤣
@@kimberlyjennings618 first of all Kimberly, 1 nobody said they were a feminist. 2 nobody’s being mean? We’re all just saying that she could’ve gotten it for cheaper and how it’s not acrylics that are damaging it’s the technique.
Right like
Dude I bought this kit and I haven't gotten my nails done in over 2 years. It's great.
Bio sculpture gel does wonders for my natural nails! If you get an overlay it looks super natural
Everybody thought the design was bad but I think they look good...
I can't believe we have to keep saying this, especially to a beauty channel: ACRYLIC IS NOT HARMFUL TO THE NAILS. GEL IS NOT HARMFUL TO THE NAILS. Chemists have spent LITERAL decades perfecting formulas to NOT damage the nails. IT IS THE IMPROPER REMOVAL OF PRODUCT THAT IS DAMAGING TO NAILS.
I don't care about her nails, her skin is DIVINE
They literally ripped you off and didn’t even do the procedure right.
I had mine long, lasted 3-4 weeks with designs on each fingers & way more crystals.
You can actually buy the apres nail kit and it is for about the same price as the nail set. And you get more usage
Did you go to a chop shop?
@@trash_can_1871 probably
They def are!!! Been doing my own nails for about 8-9 months now and when you are ready to remove these.. they just melt away with acetone/foil wraps
Wow with press one you can get 3 weeks too
I haaaaate that design
its not with the products its with the prep/application/removal process 🙄
This is actually not true coming from an emergency doctor people come to me all the time because of acrylics you see when you wear acrylics not only is the process harmful even while you are wearing the acrylics it is harmful you see like your pores and skin your nails need to breath too and putting on acrylics prevents your nails from doing so. Search Google for "what are the dangers of acrylics: you'll see some horrible things that were caused by acrylics.
Good video. I can’t believe peoples gel manicures last 3 weeks! My nails grow speedy fast it’s already rising after 5 days 😭
Great video. made my first Après purchase . looking forward to applying them. 💕
Looks like when you smash a finger💅 and it gets that blue/purple bruising 🙃
Also 2:12 methacrylate monomers are illegal to use BUT chop shops will still use it because it’s cheap (the places you pay $40). Gel will sometimes contain formaldehyde.
The process she used to apply the nails. Mine last three weeks.
Use Apres. It is the best product. They come off with just acetone. You don;t have to be drilled.
For $120? They sell the same nails at target for $10. Lol that nail tech tryna make that hustle tho.. lol
my nails grow very fast & are naturally long, but i love the look of acryl nails. how do i get that look with my own nails??
Mara Stevie get gel nail polish design on them
Bro the amount of toxic acrylic nail worshippers in the comment section right now 😂😂 Guys this video is meant as an alternative it’s not about the design!! And you can choose the length you desire.
Because it’s a misleading video for people. What’s wrong with the truth?
Can someone recommend a nail salon that does gel X or press whatever they did her in NYC with a good price thank you❤️
Eh.. I don’t like the shape and the design
Can you recommend products that doesn't have bad materials on it? I had allergies from constantly using gel polish and polygels since pandemic 😔
From my experience gel x nails have been more damaging. The constant soak off, filing to put them back on just wasn't it for me and made my nails weak. My gel x nails never fell off tho even after a month. From my experience my nails are healthier after acrylics.
My gel extensions last for 4-5 weeks😊 and they just cost $10 here in my country 🥰
I do exactly this at home! They usually last me almost 2 weeks
Are natural nails really out?? I have super strong and fast growing nails 😅😅
No
Same i have that kind of nails
No, I do too, just do you✨
Natural nails are NEVER out! Healthy natural fingernails are beautiful!
No of course not. I have naturally strong and long nails too. Acyrilic and gel nails appeals to some women, not all.
They are LED lights that cure it and most gel based products now these days so no need to worry about UV exposure
i like that shape so much
I purchased the soft gel tips out of curiosity and I ended up loving them. Over filing and the nail glue are just awful, I normally use a base gel and even hybrid gel to stick them on. Soak off to remove.
How are you supposed to know after just one application?...
Do you think for a busy teen, they would stay on for as long as you experienced?
Isn’t there the less damaging way aka the led lights for curing gel
It’s so much cheaper to do gel nails at home, a gel nail kit (with lamp) costs around $100, and it comes with 500 GEL tips, not plastic tips.
Great review
Honestly it’s just the technician, I asked for an acrylic soak removal and some miscommunication happened. This old dude used another acrylic nail to peel my acrylic off. SO PAINFUL. And I asked him to keep my nail. He thought it was unladylike and the lady next to him told him to keep it cus it’s my choice. He didn’t of course. My nails had WIERD white scratches for 3 months. He ruined them.
** warning rising edges can cause a fungus can allow water to get underneath
The price is fair! From a person who do nail it not easy like Yall saying. If you going to a salon you paid for the place and materials and talents. I use to think the same but when i start doing my nails it hard af!
It's not gel extension. For glue and tips I think this is expensive.
Doesnt they hurt when put under skin.
That is so awesome why the secret💯
I use the kiara sky gel tip system that’s exactly like this $120 is about how much the whole kit cost so that was definitely a rip off and also the nail still has to be buffed for it to even stick properly I have had mine on for longest maybe a month and almost a half woth no lifting. It’s a great kit and system for those who want to do their nails at home
Helpful video 💖
1. That's not the only way of gel manicures, there's also hard gel. 2 Even acrylic nails don't have methacrylate in them, that's highly illegal
Can you take custom press on nails to the nail shop and have them put them on?
Love the nails!
