In the film, the music score was credited to Alvin Kwok 郭小霖 (郭小林), a singer-songwriter most active in Hong Kong the 1980's, who wrote megahits that include Leslie Cheung's "Mou Sam Seoi Min" 無心睡眠 (1987). The original theme from the film sounds like it was produced largely on the synthesizer, quite possibly the Yamaha DX7. I've covered the theme with real acoustic guitar and bass, which I think fits the 80's fusion style.
