A penalty is not a sure goal but if you have a guy in your team that hasnt missed a penalty kick since 2020 even after his injury, well that penalty has a very high chance of being converted into a goal. I think Pereira was still "angry" if you will about him not given the penalty oportunity a few games ago where he was fouled and Marco even had him on the sideline trying to keep him cool for having Raul take the shot instead of him. Anyway, hopefully he will go and practice those penalties a bit more on his time and put his teams effort more into consideration instead of his own internal struggle to show off. I do hope they build up from this. Defence needs some work, looked way to nervous and it reflected almost every time Villa came at them.

How on earth could Andreas hit such a tame penalty? This was probably the key turning point of this game that led to a Fulham defeat. The same Roberto Baggio style penalty that once deprived Italy from winning the world cup. To make this look even more excerbating was the fact that there was absolutely no pace and strength on the spot kick. It just epitomised a 60 year old individual taking the spot kick. One may not even see an amateur footballer take such a poor penalty kick. Wow! It is totally ridiculous from a Premier League club penalty taker. I would rather he skied the ball to make it look more genuine that he was trying to score from the spot kick. These are the type of discerning signs to validate match fixing in world football.
Before the replays I was thinking the same thing but now I'm not so sure, yeah it wasn't a great pen but he was also up against Martinez who must be the most proven penalty keeper in the world. The point of the staggered run up is to make the keeper flinch and shoot the other way but with someone like that it doesn't work at all. Jiminez does a similar runup (albeit better) so I'm not sure if he would've scored it either.
