I just finished my first short film and was looking into information for what to do next in addition to submitting it to film festivals. Thank you for opening my eyes up to a wealth of helpful information. I'm realizing there is a completely big world beyond TikTok and RUclips for getting my work seen and heard. New subscriber!
awesome video, very informative, im working on my first short film right now, I will definitely be taking most of this advice..... thank you. i'lll be posting my project to your page as well.
I'm in first year uni for film and planning my first short film/feature film for this upcoming spring and this video gave me a lot of good ideas about where to go and how to get what I think is going to be a really good film out there. thx
Hi, I have a question, hopefully you can answer! I am making a film and I want to submit it to TIFF and post it online, but they are one of the festivals that don't allow online posting. My question is, if I post small clips of my film online, does that ruin eligibility? Or does it only take place if I post the entire thing? Let me know!
This seems like a very old way of talking about film distribution. Just give it away for free and meet other filmmakers is a strategy from 2005- but just adding new sites and replacing the ones that have shut down. Many sites based on your premise have shut down because it is an unsustainable model. Do you think that telling young filmmakers to pursue busy work like this is moral?
Thanks for your comment. None of the platforms we mention have shut down, and they have millions of monthly views. We're talking mostly about short films here, not features.
The Film Fund i never said the sites you mentioned shut down. I said that many sites just like them have shut down; the reason those sites shut down is because sending out short films in the way you describe is an unsustainable outdated business model
Hey man as someone who’s planning on releasing a few short films in the next few years do you have any advice of what you SHOULD do to distribute your film effectively. I hear a lot about what not to do but don’t have any idea what to do...
That was more useful information in 5 minutes than I’ve gotten from hours and hours of other videos on indie film. Thank you so much

Question: Are you allowed to send your short film into multiple film festivals at once?
Yes, definitely! Although some festivals may have premiere requirements, so it's best to check with them first.
Great videos man. I just subscribed. I make short films on my channel and can totally relate to everything you’re saying. Keep em coming
So glad you like it and find it useful! We'll have more videos out soon. :)
Sounds good man!
You told we can send the short films to film fund, Could u explain us how and would u accept short films from other languages like Tamil?
yes! as long as the film has English subtitles, you can make a short film in any language if you are chosen as a winner.

Ok, great video, but PLEASE color grade! I can’t stand the blandness
We added an overlay that makes the grade look more washed-out than it really is. Sorry if it's distracting!
