I do really like how balanced this video is. Nothing too ground breaking, nothing excessive, but it delivers the points well in regards to why J has such an oddly massive audience.
For me, I like J because of how much of a tragic character she is in a series already filled with tragic characters. N and V had the luxury of remaining on Copper-9 and being able to develop further and further away from the Solver's influence, relying on one another, and eventually managing to break its hold entirely. J *wasn't.* J was cloned and awoke practically tied to the Absolute Solver possessing the corpse of Tessa, someone she clearly held incredibly high regard towards. Who knows what she went through while isolated with her. Tortured? Killed and revived over and over again just for Its sick amusement? Whatever the case, by the time they touch down, she's probably been completely broken and doesn't think there's any point in fighting the Solver any more. She wasn't able to break free from Its grasp, she wasn't able to think for herself or befriend anyone or come to terms with what happened to her, she was stuck in that same cycle of abuse and completely alone. Then they won, and what happens to her afterwards is anyone's guess. When I view it through that lens, J becomes a lot more developed as a character and her reasonings and motivations make sense. But it's when you take the fanworks into account that it really gets good. The fans have taken a lot of implied or open-ended aspects of J and extrapolated on them for all they're worth. An increasingly popular ship within the community is J and Tessa, and I adore it because it adds an extra layer of tragedy and motivation to her. Suddenly it's not just fear, it's fear and despair and the vague hope that maybe, just maybe the human she loved is still in there somewhere, only to have the reality smash her across the face and make her realize where she's landed and all the grief that follows. Then there's the many story possibilities that arise from giving J a redemption arc, which is equally possible for her character now that the Solver is gone. The fic I'm writing currently, while essentially my own take on a season two, also doubles as a redemption story for J. I of course have a villain in the works who the audience can hate instead of her, so... But yes, J is a character rife for use in fanworks and stories. She has enough of an established personality to work off of and is open-ended enough that you can take her in either direction and redeem her or make her the absolute, unabashed *worst,* and it doesn't feel forced. I highly recommend everyone go read REQUIEM by pocketknife on Archive Of Our Own. Spot on. The only drone that has been confirmed to have their memories erased is N (though I think Pilot J would also count given her company puppy attitude), and Cyn indirectly stated that each backup of N (which might be hundreds given how he's her favorite) will start with no memories at all.
@MC_CN I think Pilot J's company thing was done to keep N from questioning their reasons for killing the worker drones as well as for herself with acting like they're in a business doing their job. It's a good coping mechanism for her since she's forced to work for a monster she hates and the horrible things she's forced to do. As for N's backups, Cyn stated that they'll forgive her, but not that they'll have no memories at all. They'll most likely have no memories of Copper-9, but will have memories of other things like V, Tessa, J, and of course Cyn.
@@shadowbeast9671 Given that Copper 9 N (the original as far as we know) doesn't have any memories from before he got on the landing pod aside from lingering familiarity with his squadmates, I doubt it.
@MC_CN He still had his memories of his past inside of him, which is what Cyn's programming was trying to erase in episode 5. So the memories are transferred with each copy, but Cyn has a chunk of them suppressed, probably so that they keep their personalities. J was transferred to a backup body and kept her memories since she wasn't confused about Uzi having killed her.
J as a character brought out a whole new passion in art from me, both from me doodling her in school, but also my first ever ship art (eaven if it was a dare from my freind) where i drew her and Tessa holding hands, wich later extrnded to a whole comic, into several comic books. Wich was J and the real Tessa going on destructive trips to stop the solver.
The reason I like J is because of her characteristics of loyalty, servitude and perfectionism in addition to all the tragic baggage of her character. In the entire series she receives orders and tries to fulfill them, she is available next to her boss (Tessa or Cyn) as a bodyguard as if she had the need to always be following someone. And it has its tragic part of being forced to obey pure fear and having lost Tessa.Ep 1,3,6 and 7 Jay has a serious posture and it really seems that it can take some work just for in ep 8 she beats V but is beaten in the last fight for comic relief.I believe that his great defects are his anger and his pride and unnecessarily attacking his allies
Honestly, it would've been cooler if they ejded up as a 3rd party villan who screwed with both sides because their ego was too big to side with anyone. Only for them to realize that just being ambitiohs doesn't bring in the big bucks and they very quickly join the main cast, but in a "im only here cause im homeless and you guys are letting me crash on your couch" kind of way
Honestly, her writing is so confusing that I can't understand if she was even meant to be an actual character, because as much as I like how much potential J could've had, you can easily write her out of the story and barely anything would change. In comparison, Doll at least did something, even if she also got an abrupt and not very accepted end, but at leaat she got something
some small correction... J after the Prom remember the pilot... it shown at the finale when Uzi got the railgun... as for my theory why she is so popular... its simple for me... even if the show is finished, it left so open ended that can be pick up again by Glich anytime... from the Credits we know she is alive and repairing the landing pad... so she can have a major role if we ever get something more for this universe... ad most of the things i agree what you say
i will say it as many times as i want but i would do the same thing J did cause be real who would not try to get on the good side of the god like being who as far as you know has no counter
I actually started liking J and recognize her existence in episode 5. To many I too just saw her as a throw away character in the first episode but after 5 something just clicked. I also think being a big Tessa fan helps this case of me liking J more. That can be another reason why there’s more J fans but that’s speculation on my part
I'm glad someone finally talked about this Fandom glazing J like crazy out of no where. Side topic..... I'm going to regret writing this but something about UnCom's voice and accent is really relaxing. I swear I'm a straight male but screw J asmr, I could listen to Uncom asmr all day. (no homo)
Murder Drones needs a season 2 and even a season 3. Too much potential to plush it all down. *especially when shows like hazbin & helluva have already confirmed 4 seasons with their sloppy writing.*
Imo, J got what she deserved. She was tricked into killing Tessa against her own will, yes, but that doesn't omit a spec of the blood that's on her hands *_of her own doing._* It'd be unfair to pretend she was never aware of the true story. *_"You just gave me the excuse I needed..!"_* - J, prior to making an attempt on N's life, in the pilot She *_could have_* told the others... *_but she didn't..._* A person's actions and their reasons as to to why will always tell a lot about them in very little - including the ones they choose not to enact.
Hopefully there will be a new series for murder drones Hopefully there will be uzi, j, cyn, n, v, lizzy, chad, and new characters plus doll This is my hope A hope that will stay until I die.
just wanted to ask this *probably stupid) question, but from where can i find these Murder Drones AUs? I've been watchin ur vids for waaay too long and i really dont want this spark the MD communty ignites in my heart to burn out without atleast enjoyin what the loyal fans created
"J fan fiction" was censored bescuse he most likely meant "painful cuddles" which is an okay fan fiction but in the 9th chapter J does _things_ to N and in the 24th chapter J has a _dream_
I almost completely agree with what you have said about J, but I do have one caveat related to Cyn. You stated that J didnt know that Cyn had any of her solver stuff, which I agree with, in episode 5: Home. I disagree with your reasoning, though, as N is incredibly ineffective in episode 1, not completely, much like Cyn in episode 5, but the similiarities makes me disagree. While Cyn may be seen as disabled or ineffective, I dont believe that is the reasoning for J's locking Cyn into the basement. Its joked about, but Uzi is feared by everyone in her class, as shown in episode 1 vaguely as she torments her class, episode 2 for the same thing, everyone was already panicking in episode 3 when she arrived, and in episode 4, the others just fear her for seemingly no reason. Cyn is outright feared in N's flashback in episode 2 as well as by Louisa and others in episode 5 just by looking at her. There is something about the Solver that makes people fear you, some kind of bad vibes or aura of darkness that makes others unsettled and fearful, like our 6th sense might be described. J most certainly picked up on that, and as per any company desires, you want to remove threats, like accidents or things that may offend guests or higher ups (like Louisa who seemed to remember Cyn, thus saying "I said this one out of my sight. still cant follow simple orders" as in its an order thats already been given). Doll was already feared, but mostly because she hung out with Lizzy, so we have no idea how long she ahd the solver for, whether it was pre show or episode 1 it awakened, doesnt really matter, there is a bigger and more tangible threat around her. Nori and Yeva were the ones who spun everyone into a panic about the sky demons, and people would eventually spend enough time around them not to fear the pair, much like how Uzi wasnt exactly feared the same way Cyn was, but might still catch people offguard or scare them if they werent mentally prepared for meeting the pair. Basically, J locked Cyn away on Louisa's orders, not ehr own decision. even if it was her own decision, it was because of how much of a danger, at least by appearance, Cyn was. I am not sure it was entirely meant to be that way the whole show, but in promening onwards, V is scared of Uzi even before she starts using the Solver (which could just be the railgun), but both N and V fear Uzi when she actively uses the solver almost all the time. I think there was supposed to be the parrellel between Uzi and Cyn though in episodes 4 and 5 with everyone being afraid of them, possibly setting up a motivation for Cyn/the Solver of the Absolute Fabric, but thats something entirely else from why J locked Cyn away.
I stopped my slop edit to be here. Also, I don't care much for J at all but I also watched all of MD in one go like a month after the show ended, so my view on her is less favourable than others. My only major feeling towards her is some sympathy regarding Tessa and her PTSD with Cynessa but I would argue that the former is more due to Tessa's fate then J herself and she didn't really help herself with the later as I'll explain in a sec. Also also, thank you for noticing the who bit about J keeping Cyn in the basement past the allotted time which is a can of worms that I won't go in depth on in a fricken YT comment section.
J is a tragedy that was hinted at and never explored. This is a show that breadcrumbs hints everywhere, so we are all trained to piece together fragments of her story.
I feel bad for J. J deserves more character development and screen time for the entire series! Because J's the most awesome, terrifying, and sexy character! Since Liam Vickers mentioned "While there's certainly more to tell in this world", there's a rare possibility that Liam Vickers might come back to Glitch Productions in the future (around late 2027/early 2028) for season 2 of Murder Drones or a spin-off series of Murder Drones.
Exactly! Specially when the character is such a hardworker who isn't appreciated for their work and just needs some cuddles, just like how much N deserves em. Like... Cmon, tessa literally likes N more than J or V and is why J is so angry and always tryna bully N cause she wants love... And who can't love a girl who just wants cuddles. Literally like an angy cat
ngl I hated j at the start but started liking her cause you tend to learn more about her yeah she's a terrible person but in ep8 you can see despite her really messed up mindset she's still caring to certain people and she's afraid to betray the solver cause who knows what the solver did to her when "cloneing her" if anything j still has her memories cause she knows who n v and uzi are showing her memory wasn't cloned but rather transferred cause if she was cloned she wouldn't have remembered them ntm the prior hazard mark she gets seeing the railgun shows enough that she does have her memories cause you can also argue why would she be afraid of the railgun if she was cloned and memory wiped? The solver wasn't there and only knew uzi after being Tessa so there's no way she has memory wiped cause of it but yeah completely off topic j overtime became a character you started wanting to know more about and start understanding her better and that she's not as evil as others think but that's just me could be others too but that's why I liked her not my favorite obviously will be v but j is one I like cause of that reason so yeah
I think that if they gave J more screentime she would have been a way better character (this goes for almost all of the characters to some extent).Happy to see the fans giving her more depth and appreciation in their fanworks
I feel so bad for J. She had it the worst. She was (probably) forced to kill Tessa, then live with that for eternity because she can't die and if she did she would just be cloned by Cyn. She was remade to kill her own people, humans and eternaly serve the one that made her kill the only friend she had. Cyn almost definitely tortured her psychically and physically (They CAN feel pain), for example she wears the skin of Tessa, reminding J of the massacre.
I just wanted to see a robot loving a human instead of a well-known trope of a creation hating its creator and vowing to destroy it. Also, I find characters with "ugly" flaws more interesting to explore. What made them that way? What does it say about you if you sympathize with them? Should we ever sympathize with bad people? If the circumstances were different would we turn equally as deranged? Buuuut I'm reaching. Truth be told I don't really like J, I like the concept of what she might've been, and I love what some works did with her, but in the canon, she's basically a nothing burger. She got some tiny crumbles of development, but at this point, I'd rather that she just died in episode 1, and have her minimal screen time utilized for more important plot points.
All they had to do for J to make me happy was: 1: Explain why she hated N. Probably during episode 5. 2: Don’t make her leave in episode 6, say; Cyn (disguised as Tessa) wants J to be there and at some point kill Uzi. 3: Have her spend some time with N and V, (V after she finally opens up, basically sometime during episode 6) and finally resolves whatever her problems with N is. 4: Since she’s still under Cyn’s administration, she doesn’t join the main three. And episode 7 plays out the same. When the Uzi is separated from Cyn and N, J is with Uzi and at some point her mission is changed to not kill Uzi, since Cyn has kinda manipulated N to do it anyway. 5: During Episode 8 she somehow how glitches out of Cyn’s administration (Maybe Uzi becomes her new administrator) and she sacrifices herself to save N. Basically when Cyn is about to eat N’s core, she kicks it back to his body and it results with Cyn stabbing her through the core. 6 Or ending credits scene: Now that Uzi’s administrator, she uses one of those backups all Disassembly Drones have, brings back J’s memory, so her character development isn’t erased. (Tbh, that last one is just me hoping, and it might be better if she stays dead😢)
I feel like glitch could have given her a better role or more development for j in home but I don't really care as I watch Murder Drones for the story and lore
I have a huge crush on Cyn, especially when she's wearing Tessa's skin. Weird, huh? I never really loved Jay as I do V, and not V as much as I do CYN! YES! PLEASE!
Is their a chance that J was never supposed to return in the show after her death. But she got so popular in the fandom they brought her back. She could have just been replaced by a different drone loyal to Tessa in the finale and in the flashback. That many why her CEO personality shift to be a little difrent.
To be fully honest. I was too harsh on J. Sure shes not great, but I want to see more screen time for her if they have the change. Honestly I feel bad for her bad writing and waste of a character. Hey J! Your not the worst character anymore. But she's not good, she just mid I would say. And that's really sad.
it is insane how people try to twist J's narrative into some sort of deep, complex story when she is literally just the punching bag of the show, which is obviously Liam's intention when making the show because, she is killed in the most comedic ways possible and it is genuinely hilarious😂 i honestly don't know why people are praising her like a god when even the creator of the show barely takes her seriously, like, calm down we get that you simp for a toaster🤣
@MinersLoveGamesi don't REALLY 100% think that (only a little bit), i was just messing around lol, everything else i said i really meant, no need to argue😁
"J is such a deep character because of... !!" *insert a thousand headcannons* I don't hate J as a character, but the fandom gives her way too much sympathy imo
J is coming, she won't let herself die out. I swear J could be the next Villian of Murder Drones And she could probably be better than Cyn. (idk if I could say that) But if anything, CAN WE HAVE J BE IN THE DAMN SHOW?, I swear it's like she was the last character developed in the story, because like, where did she go after Episode 1 man. Even I, who doesn't see myself as a J Simp (Please don't kill me) feel bad she didn't get to shine along N and V.

And it has its tragic part of being forced to obey pure fear and having lost Tessa.Ep 1,3,6 and 7 Jay has a serious posture and it really seems that it can take some work just for in ep 8 she beats V but is beaten in the last fight for comic relief.I believe that his great defects are his anger and his pride and unnecessarily attacking his allies
she's just so prwetty. Really, such grace

You said one word, you contributed as much as J contributed in episode 6
@@jessicaruizcollazo2372Well said, Jess XD
Genuinely... She and Cyn are my most favorite characters.
Yes that means N is 3rd for me!!!
I love Tessa and J so much
Honestly, it would've been cooler if they ejded up as a 3rd party villan who screwed with both sides because their ego was too big to side with anyone. Only for them to realize that just being ambitiohs doesn't bring in the big bucks and they very quickly join the main cast, but in a "im only here cause im homeless and you guys are letting me crash on your couch" kind of way
its like what happened to undetale. when there isnt enough story the fans go nuts and create whole new games, comics, animations and more
0:39
We dont talk about the fanfictions...
J was a great comic relief character at least!
This is why I am a fan of G-Man from Half-Life. so I don’t have to worry about stuff like this.
One of the reasons Home is my second least favourite episode and not least favourite episode is because J is an ok character in it
I loved j. From the pilot to the finale. My favorite character in all of RUclips history.
Simping for J is TotallyNot normal.
Yeah “totally”
some small correction... J after the Prom remember the pilot... it shown at the finale when Uzi got the railgun... as for my theory why she is so popular... its simple for me... even if the show is finished, it left so open ended that can be pick up again by Glich anytime... from the Credits we know she is alive and repairing the landing pad... so she can have a major role if we ever get something more for this universe... ad most of the things i agree what you say
i will say it as many times as i want but i would do the same thing J did
cause be real who would not try to get on the good side of the god like being who as far as you know has no counter
0:09 - 0:16 Ah, yes. I have seen those. The only ones I've seen that you mentioned are only mafia drones and drones of the deep. And they're awsome.
I actually started liking J and recognize her existence in episode 5. To many I too just saw her as a throw away character in the first episode but after 5 something just clicked. I also think being a big Tessa fan helps this case of me liking J more. That can be another reason why there’s more J fans but that’s speculation on my part
ahhh yES!

So hope for season two is real
I'm glad someone finally talked about this Fandom glazing J like crazy out of no where. Side topic..... I'm going to regret writing this but something about UnCom's voice and accent is really relaxing. I swear I'm a straight male but screw J asmr, I could listen to Uncom asmr all day. (no homo)
I’m gonna be honest with u mate, you aren’t alone there. I have had multiple requests to make an ASMR video
@unhelpfulcommentary sooooo......... Uncom asmr when? 🙃
You should watch them before going to bed. At least UnCom won't wake you up with screaming.
I love freaky J.
the simping part is so true am i the only one that isnt simping for robots
J is Executor type of personality if it comes to duties, same as me at wrok, this is why I like her, even though fandom hate her.
Justice for J.
Im not guilt in myself for watching that j asmr video like 4 times.
I barely thought of her since she's a bully to N and helping the Solver all that... should I change my opinion?
No it's not nessesary unless they do something big with her.
Murder Drones needs a season 2 and even a season 3. Too much potential to plush it all down.
*especially when shows like hazbin & helluva have already confirmed 4 seasons with their sloppy writing.*
Because hazbin and heluva sell on a streaming platform
And also STOP WITH THE SEASON 2 !!!
Imo, J got what she deserved.
She was tricked into killing Tessa against her own will, yes, but that doesn't omit a spec of the blood that's on her hands *_of her own doing._*
It'd be unfair to pretend she was never aware of the true story.
*_"You just gave me the excuse I needed..!"_*
- J, prior to making an attempt on N's life, in the pilot
She *_could have_* told the others... *_but she didn't..._*
A person's actions and their reasons as to to why will always tell a lot about them in very little - including the ones they choose not to enact.

@unhelpfulcommentary thx bro, I appreciate it
moze jestem dziwna ale omg kocham J całym serduszkiem tak samo jak V
J works for me but not Jax because J's entire motivation was because of a job. Jax just does it personally.
I think there was supposed to be the parrellel between Uzi and Cyn though in episodes 4 and 5 with everyone being afraid of them, possibly setting up a motivation for Cyn/the Solver of the Absolute Fabric, but thats something entirely else from why J locked Cyn away.
when you said "episode 3 was the first episode V wasn't used only to expand N's character* I cringed SO hard.
(am I an N hater..?)

I agree with that ship
Wait
I stopped my slop edit to be here. Also, I don't care much for J at all but I also watched all of MD in one go like a month after the show ended, so my view on her is less favourable than others. My only major feeling towards her is some sympathy regarding Tessa and her PTSD with Cynessa but I would argue that the former is more due to Tessa's fate then J herself and she didn't really help herself with the later as I'll explain in a sec. Also also, thank you for noticing the who bit about J keeping Cyn in the basement past the allotted time which is a can of worms that I won't go in depth on in a fricken YT comment section.
huh what
J is a tragedy that was hinted at and never explored. This is a show that breadcrumbs hints everywhere, so we are all trained to piece together fragments of her story.
0:36 Ayo?💀💀
I feel bad for J.
J deserves more character development and screen time for the entire series!
Because J's the most awesome, terrifying, and sexy character!
Since Liam Vickers mentioned "While there's certainly more to tell in this world", there's a rare possibility that Liam Vickers might come back to Glitch Productions in the future (around late 2027/early 2028) for season 2 of Murder Drones or a spin-off series of Murder Drones.
Nothing wrong with having a crush on a character, just saying.
@@AlexTheDisassemblyDrone Agreed. A lot of people feel that way about the branded pen, nothing wrong with it.
0:37 forgot that ship existed
0:37 wtf
6:37 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no
ngl I hated j at the start but started liking her cause you tend to learn more about her yeah she's a terrible person but in ep8 you can see despite her really messed up mindset she's still caring to certain people and she's afraid to betray the solver cause who knows what the solver did to her when "cloneing her" if anything j still has her memories cause she knows who n v and uzi are showing her memory wasn't cloned but rather transferred cause if she was cloned she wouldn't have remembered them ntm the prior hazard mark she gets seeing the railgun shows enough that she does have her memories cause you can also argue why would she be afraid of the railgun if she was cloned and memory wiped? The solver wasn't there and only knew uzi after being Tessa so there's no way she has memory wiped cause of it but yeah completely off topic j overtime became a character you started wanting to know more about and start understanding her better and that she's not as evil as others think but that's just me could be others too but that's why I liked her not my favorite obviously will be v but j is one I like cause of that reason so yeah
I think that if they gave J more screentime she would have been a way better character (this goes for almost all of the characters to some extent).Happy to see the fans giving her more depth and appreciation in their fanworks
Clone j is still j because robots don't have souls so clone j is the same person
J's underrated and she didnt get used as a character properly. Yes.
I love J
smash
All they had to do for J to make me happy was:
1: Explain why she hated N.
WE NEED MURDER DRONES SEASON TWO WHERE J IS PROTAGONIST IN 2026 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
FRRRRRRR
J probably isn't protagonist material without some reworks, but she should be utilized more in future MD works.

Why does Liam not want to do a season 2? just laziness or something else? Bro left so many loose ends and unanswered questions.

@@ДавидСамба Yes.
@@ДавидСамба J is by far the worst.
The problem is that we wanted something out of a charcter that Liam had no interest in.
it is insane how people try to twist J's narrative into some sort of deep, complex story when she is literally just the punching bag of the show,
which is obviously Liam's intention when making the show because, she is killed in the most comedic ways possible and it is genuinely hilarious😂
i honestly don't know why people are praising her like a god when even the creator of the show barely takes her seriously, like, calm down we get that you simp for a toaster🤣
I find boiling it all down to just "people simp for her" to be a bit disingenuous.
