Just got a new Hoveround first time charging batteries bulge got new batteries now blow fuses
Great videos. My mom ran over her MPV5 charger cable and severed it. The Assisted Living place gave me the FY-4101 charger with the severed cable but they somehow lost the XLR connector. My question is, can you tell me which wire goes to which pin? I have an XLR connector from an old microphone cable that I can solder on but don't know which wire to connect to which pin. There's a white, black and shield wire in the cable. As you mentioned in another video, the power supply doesn't turn on unless it's connected to the chair (load) so I can't bench test it and don't know which wire has the +24V (or more) and which is the - and what to connect the shield to. My guess based on black normally being the negative leg of DC is that pin 1 is White, pin 2 is Black and pin 3 is the shield but I'm afraid to try it for fear of damaging the chair. Mom is in isolation and I can't enter the facility due to the virus so I don't have access to the chair. Any help you can provide is appreciated. I have scoured the Internet and came up empty on good tech info except for your videos. Mom is 93 and relies on the chair to get to the bathroom and back so it's a major inconvenience for her. Hi I'm having trouble getting any technician to come and install a new joystick on my grandmas XHD. I already have the part but hover round doesn't have anyone to install it in Wyoming and all of the local places refuse to work on hover rounds. I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a call with you and possibly have you talk me through installing it or if you knew of a video that i could follow along with. Thank you.
On the XHD the joystick was either the VSI or VR2. VR2 is simple. VSI more connections. There should be a wire schematic on the top of the inside junction box. Call if you like, Frank 1800 717 1252
How do you lower the arm height on a Hoveround MPV5? The chair I am have the arms are two different heights.
Could you show us how to get the circuit board out of the control board shell. I have the joystick part off
but now I’m stuck.
remove 2 star screws- 1 in the middle, one at the bottom of pcb. Then you are able to pry up pcb. Frank

Have hoveround mpv5 and left wheel won't engage. Wheelchair just go around in a circle.

Frank, where are you located? We are trying to replace the drive motors on an mpv5 but can't get to them. I cannot find instructions on how to disassemble the base.

I have a working controller for a Teknique and trying to put it on an MPV5 but having trouble since the MPV5 has the plastic connections and the Teknique has individual wires. Are these interchangeable?
If you can tell me the models of the joysticks, I can tell you if they are able to be switched. Doesn`t sound easily likely. Frank

Hi. I have a mpv5 and the speed control is stuck is on the lowest setting. It will not adjust to a faster speed.
